"Too strong, completely surpassing Enel! They're not even in the same level!"
Gan Fall stared at Luo Ning in horror, stunned by his opponent's methods. If that giant hand landed on him, he had no doubt this place would be reduced to ruins. The entire island would be shattered by the attack.
"Alright, time to get down to business. You'd better pass out first and not cause me any trouble."
Luo Ning rendered Enel unconscious with a direct blow. The severe pain overwhelmed Enel, forcing him out of his elementalized state.
"Fantasy!"
Luo Ning activated his power of fantasy, and fruit resembling raindrops suddenly materialized in the sky, taking on various shapes. A multitude of fruits rained down, blanketing the area in a fantastical downpour.
"Is this... fruit? And it's real!"
Gan Fall caught a piece of fruit and took a bite, confirming it was indeed real.
He was certain Luo Ning was behind this, but how? And what was his motive? Gan Fall was completely baffled.
However, Luo Ning offered no answers. He continued to fantasize, conjuring more and more fruits that began to pile up, gradually covering the earth in a continuously growing mound. At this rate, it seemed the island would soon be buried beneath an endless sea of fruit.
Still, Luo Ning pressed on. The more fruit there was, the higher the probability of a Thunder Fruit regenerating amongst them. The variety of shapes only increased the odds.
Luo Ning's Reiatsu reserves dwindled considerably by the time the entire island was completely cloaked in fruit. Even manifesting a vast quantity of ordinary fruit takes a significant toll.
"Your Excellency," Gan Fall pleaded, utterly bewildered, "what is your purpose in creating all this fruit?"
Luo Ning provided the answer with a grim spike of Reiatsu that pierced directly through Enel's head, killing him instantly. He avoided excessive bloodshed, considering the presence of women nearby.
Following Enel's demise, Luo Ning's perception extended across the entire island, monitoring any changes within the fruit.
"Yes!" he exclaimed in triumph. He quickly identified a fruit that had undergone a transformation, morphing into a Devil Fruit with an unusual shape.
The true appearance of a Thunder Fruit remained a mystery to Luo Ning, as no visual record of it existed.
However, he held firm to the conviction that this was indeed the Thunder Fruit. The timing of Enel's death coinciding with this fruit's peculiar transformation was simply too improbable to be a coincidence.
Without further hesitation, Luo Ning plucked the fruit.
"Is this the very fruit Enel consumed?" Gan Fall inquired with a hint of doubt, his knowledge of Devil Fruits stemming from his mount's own fruit-induced abilities.
"It should be. Nami, Here you go!"
Luo Ning tossed the fruit in his hand to Nami. With the immense effort he invested in acquiring it, Nami felt obligated to accept. After all, this was the fruit that brought about the downfall of a so-called god and necessitated the creation of an entire fruit island. Refusing it would be disrespectful.
However, upon taking a bite, Nami's stomach lurched. The taste was simply awful.
"One bite is enough. No need to force yourself," Luo Ning cautioned, noticing Nami reaching for another bite.
Nami immediately flung the fruit to the ground. "This is inedible! How can something taste so awful?" Disgust contorted her features. Never had she encountered such a repulsive flavor.
"I hear the saying goes that these taste worse than shit," Luo Ning said with a smirk. "Though, the more I ponder that comparison, the less accurate it seems. How can one truly know without tasting it themselves? The one who coined that phrase must have had firsthand experience."
Nami grimaced. "Ugh, can you be any more nauseating?"
Nami barely managed to suppress the urge to vomit. The taste was already horrendous, and Luo Ning's comment only made it worse. It was a miracle she didn't expel everything from her stomach.
Suddenly, crackling electric arcs erupted across Nami's body.
"Whoa, electricity!" Nami exclaimed, startled by the unexpected jolt.
"It's normal," Luo Ning reassured her nonchalantly. "People who just ate a Devil Fruit have trouble controlling their abilities at first. Just practice for a while"
He wasn't fazed by this, knowing it was a common occurrence. Even Sabo, after consuming the Mera-Mera Fruit, occasionally lost control of his fire powers. Nami's situation was to be expected.
With the power of the Thunder Fruit coursing through her veins, Nami's potential had skyrocketed. As long as she wasn't plagued by laziness, reaching the level of an Admiral wasn't out of the question. The Vice Admiral level, at least, was certainly within her grasp.
"I understand," Nami declared with newfound determination. "I'll work hard to master this power!"
She experimented, focusing on the electric arcs now dancing playfully across her hands. It was all incredibly fascinating and novel to her.
