One Piece: The Rising Tide

No Harem, No System, No Op Protagonist Caspian Maverick lived his entire life bound to a wheelchair, but he didn’t let that stop him from sailing the world, or from getting a masters degree in engineering. He never resented his lot in life and did his best to make the most of his circumstances. After dying in a violent storm while at sea he was lucky enough to be granted an audience with an Elder God. This is where Caspian was given the opportunity of a lifetime; a second chance at life in another world. Not only was he given his legs back, but he was given abilities beyond his wildest dreams and the chance to explore a world 10 times the size of earth. With his knowledge of the future and the gifts he was bestowed, Caspian may just take the world of One Piece by Storm. The MC will grow to be quite powerful as the story progresses, but he’ll never be able to one shot an Emperor, or curb stomp an Admiral. This isn’t that kind of story. His power may give him an edge against most Devil Fruit users, but it’s not like he can strait up cancel their abilities. And as stated recently in the One Piece Manga by Kaido, powers alone can’t help one conquer the sea. In other words, I’ll do my best to make his abilities fit into the world of One Piece without messing up the power balance. He also won’t be following Luffy, Ace or Sabo. He will form his own crew and be an adventurer. I do not own the cover photo. I found it at Http://amarevia.deviant art.com If the creator would like me to take it down I will.

Porchemy

Rage nearly blinded me and it was only by biting down on the inside of my cheek that I held back from attacking rashly.

'Even after all he was put through Luffy still didn't tell them anything.' Admiration built in my chest as I looked at the little boy sobbing softly as he swung from the ropes binding him. It took all my will power to calm my mind as I eyed the sick bastard who would torture a child… and to this extent.

"Who the hell are y-" one of the lackeys spoke up, but a blast of compact water cut him off. I sent similar compressed blasts to the other two standing in the room. Slamming the men into the walls and knocking them out cold, leaving me alone with Porchemy.

"Tch, so you have a devil fruit power as well huh? Not that it matters. I'll still kill you either way, or maybe i'll sell you to the highest bidder. With that purple hair, and those eyes, you'd go for a high price regardless of what powers you have!" The pirate stated coldly before he lunged forward, his blue hair trailing behind him. He didn't hesitate to lash out with the spiked gauntlets attached to his fists. Even now they're still dripping with Luffy's blood.

Seeing the crimson liquid coating his fist caused my rage to explode outward. In an instant I gathered all the water in the entire area, dragging it from every bucket, bottle and puddle nearby and pooling it into my palm before hurling it at Porchemy as he approached me. Hitting him with a condensed stream of water so powerful it could topple a tree and shatter stone.

The impact sent him flying backwards like he was shot from a canon. Blowing him clean through the thin wooden walls of his hut and right into a pile of scrap metal.

"AHHHH!"

He screamed out in anger and pain as rusty metal pierced into his flesh, but I didn't care. Looking away from the hole I made and back towards Luffy I carefully untied the ropes and helped him down. I pulled out some of the clean water stored within the gourds at my waist as I looked down at his injured body.

"Y-your, C-Casper. Thank you! I-I thought I was gonna die!" Luffy sobbed. I slowly moved the gathered water across his small frame, focusing it on his wounds. A slight glow could be seen as as I healed him and cleaned the blood from his face.

"Does that feel better?" I asked.

"What? Oh! Whoa! I feel amazing… It's like I was never even hurt!" Luffy added excitedly while flexing his muscles as if he wasn't just tortured. Thankfully my healing ability worked like a charm, though I should continue his treatment later to ensure he's completely healed. For now, its enough.

"You should stay here for awhile. Things are going to get messy. Keep watch on the goons over there for me, if they get up while I'm fighting I may have some trouble, so I'm counting on you." I said confidently while patting his shoulder and fixing his straw hat so it sat properly atop his head.

"Morph, can you watch over Luffy for me?" I asked as the pink blob flew inside the hut from the gapping whole in the wall.

Taking the shape of a miniature version of me Morph saluted happily before turning into a pistol and landing in Luffy's hand. He may not be able to actually shoot anyone, but the guys on the floor don't know that. Plus he can still make the sound of a gun, which will let me know if they try anything. Not that Luffy couldn't handle them on his own.

"Now, where was I." I thought while cracking my neck with a satisfying pop.

"I'LL KILL YOU!" A hate filled voice thundered from my left.

"Oh right, I was in the middle of kicking Perchemy's ass." Pushing off the floor I twirled the metal pipe between my hands as I dashed towards my opponent through the hole I created. When i saw him i couldn't help but smile. His hair was coated in blood and dirt and his body was half mangled, with his clothing torn and his face contorted with anger. Yet he stood tall, apparently not injured enough to impede his movement.

The instant I left the hut a spiked haymaker flew my way. I dodged it with ease by leaning backwards Matrix style before dancing around the big guy like a boxer circling his opponent in the ring. Swinging the pipe like a baseball bat, I knee-capped the giant docuhe before I kneed him in the ribs, cracking at least three of them.

"AAArgh!" Fighting through the pain he lashed out in a wide arc, his long arms leading me to jump back to gain some distance.

I've caught him off guard and have him riled up. The perfect opportunity for me to have some fun. But I still have to play it smart. I'm not stupid enough to tank a hit just because I should be able to block it. My skin may be dense as hell, but my eyes, throat, eats and mouth are all vulnerable. I can't be overconfident. Luckily for me I do better at this range.

Once more I gathered the water that had seeped into the mud around us, pulling what remains from all four gourds at my hip as well as the surroundings; I jumped forward rotating mid air, kicking out as a massive water whip formed instantly. It struck Porchemy hard right across the face and knocked him several feet back. Sending him sprawling into the mud once more. Blood dripped from his lips as he snarled up at me from his place in the dirt.

"If I'm beaten by a kid… I may as well quit being a pirate." He stated gruffly while slowly climbing to his feet and wiping the blood from his split lip. He spat out a large wad of blood with at least a few teeth mixed in. Good.

"Then I'll make you quit!" I yelled,
