Chapter 136: Immovable Wills II

...........

That made Yovan wonder about the concept of fate, why did the Straw Hats end up splitting up even after all the changes he caused? Sabaody Archipelago has become a risk zone for World Nobles after all.

Indeed, the Archipelago became a forbidden zone for the celestials, just out of fear. The assassination of a celestial was that traumatic to them, breaking their already twisted common sense.

The person responsible for the traumatic incident was on Hancock's ship, heading to the Marineford, actually performing his responsibilities as a Warlord for the first time.

He was seated right before Hancock, both staring at each other in the eyes in quite the strange scenery.

Thankfully, only some of the Kuja pirates were there to witness it. The Dark King didn't come along, only Luffy did, hidden somewhere in the ship.

There was, however, nothing romantic about the scene, not with the obvious expression of pain on the empress' face.

The source of the pain seems to be coming from their point of contact, their right index fingers which were in contact with each other.

"Seriously, what's taking you so long? I forcefully learned it the hard way, by being beaten up by Kaido. Now, I'm teaching it to you, so focus more, focus on the force swimming inside of you instead of the pain," Yovan said with a frown.

"Aghh, you're not gentle at all! I'm not a monster like you, I'm the most gorgeous of angels, so..." Despite her complaining, Hancock still listened to his instructions.

"Well, you should try to be the monster that I am, it's nice," Yovan shrugged.

Yovan was teaching her the art of Internal Destruction, a technique she may need in the future, and with her high mastery in Armament Haki, it shouldn't be difficult for her.

Yet hours passed, but there was still no progress, making Yovan furrow his brows as he asked, "Are you scared of hurting me?"

"Huh? No?" Hancock hurriedly shook her head n denial.

"Right," Yovan shook his head in exasperation, "I guess I should wait until later to beat you up for the sake of learning."

"Bully! Okay! I'll try harder! Please?" Is there one person in the world who experienced Yovan's teaching but doesn't fear it? No, and there will never be.

They'd rather take a vacation in hell than experience it, but fortunately for Hancock, someone came to save the day as Yovan narrowed his eyes in a certain direction.

And not a second passed before Hancock did the same, seeing the sky splitting up far on the horizon as it thundered.

There was no sound of thunder, but Hancock could swear she heard it... In her heart. It was such a strange eerie feeling, and she knew exactly what it is, Haoshoku Haki!

Yovan narrowed his eyes even further, his expression taking a turn to the worse, killing intent reeking from him, "I... Go without me, and use the alternative plan if I don't follow," He murmured as his dark golden Cap flew to him, resting gently on his back.

"Wai..." He vanished, making Hancock frown. The power reeking from that force was enormous, the likes of which she had never seen before, not even from Yovan, when it comes to Haoshoku Haki at least.

That's a feat that brought her endless worries considering just how monstrous Yovan's will is. Then again, had she ever seen Yovan's will in full effect?

If she hadn't, then she had as the sky shook again, splitting up even more like an endless scar in the sky. She could even feel the pressure on her and they were far away.

They? Who are they? Yovan and... Red-Haired Shanks, commonly known as just Red Hair, the chief of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors that rule over the New World.

From a feather appeared Yovan, standing right before a sitting Shanks on a small boat, so small it started shaking at Yovan's weight.

He could sense no one, Yovan noted, not a soul other than Hancock, her crew, and Luffy nearby, and even they slowly but surely left the perimeter of his vast Observation Haki.

Shanks was truly there alone without his crew, and he wasn't smiling. Those who know and are close to him would know just how noteworthy that is.

He was staring up at Yovan with a weighty expression, just like Yovan was staring him down with a heavy expression, both clad in their Captain Caps, painting quite the grave scenery.

No words were heard, but a conversation was happening, the entire sea splitting up was proof of that.

The boat, however, preserved as the sea opened up, looking like it was seeking to devour it.

The boat found itself between two tsunamis, literally. The only difference is that the tsunamis couldn't reach the boat. In fact, they were swimming around an invisible barrier, halting even sound from coming out.

And it did thunder, and lightning followed, quite the strange lightning it was, a combination of two colors, dark red and dark golden.

"Do you think you can stop me?" Yovan asked.

"Not with your powers, but you will turn around and leave," Shanks responded.

"Why?" Yovan asked.

"You're an agent of chaos... No, you are chaos. I don't want you anywhere near this war." Shanks patiently explained.

"I will kill you," Yovan promised.

"Perhaps you will." Shanks calmly responded.

"How did you find out?" Yovan asked, his eyes, now both opened, reeking of coldness.

"I know that you're somehow connected to the Pantheon. What happened in the Impel Down allowed me to predict your actions and goals." Again, Shanks honestly answered.

Yovan could only caress his golden hair as he looked elsewhere in contemplation before, "Haha Yahahah Yahahahaha, what's happening with my crew at the moment?"

"I don't know," Shanks responded. He knows, but he of course won't say it because the basis of why he's here is to stop Yovan from participating in the war.

Yovan had so many more questions. How did Shanks find out? How did he figure out his connection to the Pantheon? No, Yovan was certain that Shanks knows more... Perhaps he knows that Yovan is the Pantheon.

That, however, didn't matter. Yovan never hoped for his identity as part of the Pantheon to be kept a secret for long. No, there were a few signs some can detect.

What mattered was the fact that Shanks predicted Yovan would let his crew scatter throughout the New World to take over Whitebeard's territory.

And all the while, Yovan would attend the war to make sure Whitebeard actually dies, but Shanks simply didn't want Yovan to interfere.

"Thank you," Yovan's smile of exasperation went away, taking place was quite the strange look as he looked down at Shanks, "Thank you," He repeated himself again before vanishing.

Even after leaving, the tsunamis didn't engulf the boat. No, they slowly receded, allowing the boat to safely float in the calm sea again.

"Troublesome," Shanks murmured, bringing his only hand to hide his face, a face that went to become even more somber at Yovan's words, "Too troublesome."

Shanks won the confrontation, but he didn't feel like he won, not after Yovan's last words, those words of genuine appreciation were too eerie.

Shanks felt like he made the monster grow even further, but what choice did he have? He could only hope that Dragon's words and predictions become reality, even if it costs... His life.

Yovan kept his emotions in check, and his desires especially controlled, buried deep in his heart, knowing that acting upon them will bring him many regrets.

His crew... Yovan didn't trust Shanks at all, so he never, not once in his life had he moved faster than he was doing now.

He had to go back to New World, and he had to do so now, in seconds if he can, but that is not possible for the current Yovan.

He knows exactly where his crew is, the numerous feathers always saved up in Seizon No Hono allow Yovan to know the general direction of his Ship at all times.

So all he had to do was move, and that he did in the form of a single hardened feather, using not only his Hasshoken but also his golden flames to push his speed further.

High in the sky, few could see something leaving behind a sea of golden flames along with thundering explosions, something fleeting very few could detect before it vanishes into the horizon.

But none could see the feather engulfed in flames, not until it slowed down minutes later, literally minutes later, Yovan found himself on his Ship.

"What happened," He showed himself in his hybrid form to his very safe crew, and a surprising guest.

They were intact, but the same can not be said about Yovan, he pushed himself so much that his skin was cracked, ink dripping out of him.

His dark expression didn't allow for his crew to question him as Kalifa explained, "We were intercepted by the Red Hair Pirates, so I made the decision to retreat because the situation was too weird."

"Well done," Yovan murmured, lightly stroking her hair as he looked in a certain direction, "So that's the real threat."

They couldn't see what he was talking about, but Viola could, a Serpentine Dragon swimming toward them above the clouds.
