Chapter 119: Everless Gloom I

...........

The whip was strong enough to break through the little Haki Yovan coated on his heart, but in the end, it didn't matter for arguably, his greatest achievement took effect, Survival's Instinct.

Yovan let out a breath as the emerald flames surrounded him. The Seven-Star Sword was happy, devouring Doflamingo's delicious blood, but it still wasn't enough.

He lifted his left hand, taking a closer at it. It was mostly made of flesh, blood, and bones, but most of his fingers were made of feathers, the only part that has yet to heal.

"Yahah yahahha," Yovan couldn't help but let out a low chuckle, "I am ridiculous, am I not?" But he didn't wait for an answer as he added, "Please do try your best to kill me... I'm wondering if there is still a world out there where that's possible."

His confidence in survival was through the roof. It was like he firmly believes without a shadow of a doubt; that death couldn't be further from him even if it wants to.

"God Thread..." Doflamingo mumbled in a low tone, his expression seeming icy and grim. He didn't know of Yovan's power. No one really did. His transformation after the Fall Massacre was miraculous.

Doflamingo couldn't have hoped of predicting Yovan's current strength. No one could've no matter how much he was overestimated.

But he has yet to give up. He wouldn't give up even if death is a certainty... It isn't as he still has a trick up his sleeve, God Thread.

Doflamingo leaped toward Yovan, a strange move considering what happened the last time. From his hands condensed exactly sixteen extremely thick bundles of string that form sharp points, all infused with Armament Haki.

The God Threads reeked of danger, so much danger, in fact, that Yovan knew he would surely die if he allowed himself to be hit. While his heart isn't a weakness, his brain is, something Doflamingo must know.

Yet he faced it head-on, lightly stepping on the ground to traverse a great distance, finding himself right before the God Threads.

"Abyss Of Gloom," He faced them with his pale right palm, seemingly a Haki-less barrier to stop certain death. His palm shook, bringing about dark cracks, a platform of numerous cracks, so many in fact Doflamingo could see nothing but darkness before him.

What happened when the Threads of God came upon the fractures of Gloom? Nothing... There was no sound to be heard, only the Threads vanishing into the abyss that is the dark barrier, never to be seen again.

Well, not until Doflamingo created even more God Threads, not discouraged, especially as he noted Yovan's completely broken right arm, coated with blood spilling from cracks in his skin... The Abyss of Gloom has a hefty cost.

Doflamingo still moved forward, finding himself faced with Yovan's chilly face, staring directly into his golden eye, reeking of perseverance, only inches away from him, but not for long.

Yovan scattered only to appear about two feet backward, right behind another Doflamingo, his clone, the black knight.

It slipped away a while ago amidst the strings, but it never left Yovan's senses, not for a moment. Now, the clone will not be able to leave the tight grasp of his right hand.

It couldn't do much before Yovan rotated into the air, his hand nailing the clone to the ground, followed by the illusionary sound of glass breaking.

Fractures spread out from his hand, breaking space like the shattering of mirrors... The clone was left broken.

Yovan lightly turned his head around, finding Doflamingo standing right behind him with his hands both on his chest.

From the Joker's hands condensed countless strings that went on to wreak havoc in Yovan's body while he was destroying the clone, but they didn't target his brain at all.

Doflamingo wouldn't allow such a chance to slip away. However, he knew that he couldn't target Yovan's brain lest he scatters, and indeed, Yovan's fighting style dictates chaos, so he allowed his body to be wrecked for the destruction of the clone.

Yet just like before, he didn't seem affected at all as he eyed Doflamingo with amusement, especially as the latter slipped his hands away, barely evading Yovan's hungry blade along with its flames.

Yovan followed after him with a leap, using mostly his blade, swing after swing, never stopping a barrage of chaos and blood.

The two found themselves having to sacrifice a lot in order to harm the other, and both can handle a lot.

However, Doflamingo's expression turning gloomier by the second said something, he isn't as much of a monster as Yovan, especially after he noticed something.

Yovan was using him as a training dummy for his swordsmanship. He was forming his own way of the sword amidst the battle, and it was certainly an interesting way... Way Of Blood.

"Come on... Punch me," Yovan murmured, never leaving Doflamingo's side, "Such is the way of a king... That of cowards."

The Threads of God reacted to their king's slowly brewing anger, rotating about to fall upon Yovan from behind... Emerald flames were set ablaze from his back, diving toward the Threads along with a wave of feathers.

The Stranger also has his army of loyal servants, those dark ominous feathers coated in a ridiculous condensation of Haki never disappoints.

"Yhaha hahaha, conqueror's Haki... Does a waste like you deserve it?" Yovan questioned with a chuckle, finally earning a punch from Doflamingo.

The way of trash-talking is very valuable because Observation Haki is very easy to disturb.

One needs immense focus to keep it going, but Yovan wasn't hoping for Doflamingo to lose focus. No, he was too cunning and experienced in that regard to deceive... He just wanted him to fight back just a little.

"Fufufu fufufuf, your downfall would be your pride!" In contrast to expectation, Doflamingo laughed as his hardened punch made contact with Yovan's skull.

He could clearly feel his wrist held tightly by Yovan as if he was waiting for that opportunity, "Nicely done," Yovan murmured as he brought Doflamingo closer, shrugging off the dizziness he felt from the punch.

He brought Doflamingo closer to his ever-so-hungry blade, and the Joker allowed it but at a cost, "Torikago: Sacrifice."

Doflamingo's left hand was clenched into a fist and extended toward Yovan, triggering something in the Birdcage of strings.

The Veil Of Darkness remained there, not acting, but the birdcage didn't, closing in on Yovan almost instantly.

Yovan was faced with a predicament, either continuing with stabbing his blade into Doflamingo's heart, a sure kill at the cost of the Birdcage enveloping him, not something easy to defend against.

In fact, the Birdcage seemed special, even capable of shrinking despite the feathers trying to stop it... Perhaps it can slice Yovan into numerous parts, not something he can survive.

That or simply scattering to evade it at the cost of losing the opportunity... So what did Yovan do? He opened his left eye.

His left eye remained closed since the Fall Massacre. He supposedly lost it after all. It should be nothing but a vacant hole, nothing darkness... No, it was radiant, fiery with golden flames.

Instead of emerald flames, golden flames erupted from him with such intensity that even Doflamingo felt it through his completely Haki coated body, frying through it.

And he wasn't even the target of the Golden flames, the Birdcage had to suffer the brunt of the hot molting flames, so hot and destructive in fact that they chewed through it.

"Apollo!!!" Doflamingo yelled with terror, feeling the blade go through him, devouring his blood with such hunger it terrified him, and his voice did speak of horror... Just not because of that.

From Doflamingo's body spurted his clone, lunging at Yovan while pushing him away, allowing the blade to slip away, but it was too late.

Doflamingo was left in a sorry state, almost like a mummy, but he was very much alive, drawing a chuckle out of Yovan, "That seems familiar." Ah, the days of skin and bones Yovan were long gone.

They were so far gone in fact as Yovan found himself enveloped in burning emerald flames, exiting from them a new man... His left hand was whole again.

"Thank you," Yovan murmured as he traced his recovered fingers along the gorgeous blade, "Come to think of it, I have yet to give you a name... A new name. Hmm, how about Enyo, Goddess of Blood, and Destruction?"

The blade vibrated lightly, letting out gorgeous emerald sparks, ones of happiness. The blade was henceforth named Enyo.

"I didn't want to use it, not until I got your blood, so thank you," Yovan said as he walked toward a perplexed Doflamingo, Enyo greedily sucking the Golden flames into its Haki coated form.

"Hades... Apollo... You are both of them," Doflamingo muttered as he stumbled his steps backward, "No, you must be... The creator of the Pantheon?"

Apollo is very well known. In fact, very few don't know of him. They know him to be the God of the Sun, the God of Golden flames, the same flames he used to burn down a World Noble alive.

Once Doflamingo realized that, he also realized something else... All of this, it could only mean that Yovan is the creator or at least the leader of the Pantheon.

Rats, like many animals, will often try to escape or defend themselves when faced with a threat, even if death is inevitable.

That is a natural instinct that helps them survive... They are known for their agility and intelligence in finding ways to evade danger... Doflamingo is the same as he slipped into the ground.

The ground opened up for him as he used the full brunt of his Awakening to turn everything into strings, using them as a shield to escape.

"Everless Gloom." This is what Yovan couldn't use before... Because using it means no blood to be had, just pure unhinged annihilation.
