the sun was dipping low on the horizon, casting a soft golden glow over the vast expanse of the sea below and the floating islands they were about to leave. It was a familiar feeling, one that Kai had come to love—the anticipation of a new journey just on the cusp of beginning.
Kai stood by the ship's railing, watching the last rays of sunlight glint off the rippling water. His crew worked with practiced ease, but before they could set sail, a voice rang out, sharp and unmistakable.
"KAI SILVER!"
Kai's gaze snapped to the shore, where a familiar figure stood—Gan Fall, the God of Skypeia, flanked by his guards and a small crowd of islanders. The wind picked up, carrying his words across the distance. Kai's eyebrow arched in slight confusion, curiosity tugging at him as he leaned against the ship's railing.
"You can't leave!" Gan Fall's voice boomed, shaking the tranquility of the moment.
Kai sighed inwardly. He had expected trouble, but not from the likes of the old man. What could he possibly want? He studied the scene on the shore, waiting for the next words to clarify.
"YOU CAN'T LEAVE without receiving our thanks, KAI SILVER!" Gan Fall continued, his voice heavy with gratitude. "I thank you for being the hero of today and saving our island from the sea dweller invaders! YOU and YOUR CREW are friends of Skypeia and are always welcome here!"
The words hung in the air, carried by the breeze as the islanders cheered. Kai stood silent for a moment, the weight of the gratitude settling on his shoulders. Then, a slow smirk crept across his face as he gave a light-hearted salute to the old man.
"Thank you for the gold, old man," Kai called out with a grin, his voice carrying a playful tone. "And I appreciate the offer of friendship. I accept it! May we reunite one day, old man."
Turning away from the edge, Kai gave Mikita a brief nod. At once, she stepped forward, deploying the ship's wings, and the ship slowly began to drift away from the island. The crew's eyes were fixed ahead, but their ears caught the waves of shouts and cheers from the Skypeian people as they shouted their thanks to Kai. The sounds of gratitude followed them as the ship left Skypeia behind.
The ship approached the island's edge, and as everyone braced themselves. With a casual flick of his wrist, Kai allowed the ship to plummet from the sky. The descent was swift, and the wind howled as Mikita's voice rang out in alarm.
"What now????"
Kai's lips curled into a mischievous smile as he turned to Luca. "Hold yourself tight, Luca. Time for some fun."
Before anyone could respond, Kai moved with practiced speed. He wrapped one arm around Mikita's waist, pulling her close to his chest, and with his other hand, gripped the staff on his hand, Mikita gasped, a sudden flush spreading across her face. Her voice cracked with embarrassment as she stammered, "What! Kai... Not now!"
Kai ignored her protests with ease. His focus was entirely on the task ahead. He leapt forward, pulling Mikita with him. As the ship continued its rapid descent, he swung his staff with precision. Three bursts of Haima energy erupted from the tip, slamming into the sea below, creating massive shockwaves that softened the impact for a moment. The ship hurtled toward the water, and Mikita's eyes widened in realization.
"WAIT! WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" she screamed, her hands clutching at him instinctively.
Kai's voice remained calm, unwavering. "Relax, I got you."
The ship crashed into the sea with bone-rattling force, splintering upon impact. The sound of breaking wood and strained metal filled the air as Kai held Mikita tightly. The ship bucked and tossed in the water, parts of it torn asunder. But through the chaos, Kai's influence held firm. The ship's descent had been softened, and though battered, it was still afloat.
Landing with a grunt, Kai set Mikita down gently, and she collapsed onto the deck, breathing heavily. "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?! I ALMOST DIED!"
Kai, ever the picture of nonchalance, simply shrugged as he looked around the ship. His eyes settled on Luca, who was climbing down from the mast, his expression as calm as ever.
"You?" Kai's voice held a note of approval. "You're pretty good at saving yourself, ain'tcha?"
Luca grinned, landing with a soft thud beside Kai. "Indeed. Kind of necessary for a medic. I'm usually the enemy's number one target."
Kai chuckled, giving him a slap on the back. "Good work."
Meanwhile, Mikita was inspecting the damage to the ship, her face flushed with irritation. "Look at this mess! You think you can sail towards the New World with this?! GOOD LUCK!"
Kai simply smiled and stepped closer, his arm wrapping around her waist again. She immediately flushed crimson, her eyes locking with his. "Well, that's where you come in, dear Mikita," Kai said smoothly, his grin widening. "As my navigator, you'll guide this half-broken ship to Water 7. We're going to use that sweet, sweet gold we made from Skypeia to create the ultimate ship. A ship that will be worth the name... Starscourge!"
....
As the ship sailed smoothly toward Water 7, Kai found a moment of respite. The steady sway of the ship beneath his feet was almost soothing, but his mind was anything but calm. He had always been someone to analyze and improve, and now, after a series of hard-fought victories, it was time to reflect on his progress.
Kai settled into a quiet corner of the ship, taking a deep breath before accessing the system that had become a part of him since his arrival in this world. A wave of satisfaction washed over him as he saw the fruits of his labor laid out before him. Defeating three powerful opponents—Skypeia's Guardian, Skypeia's God, and Bellamy—had proven to be not just challenges, but stepping stones. He could feel the growth inside him, the increase in power.
Two new spells, one gained from the Guardian, another from Bellamy, as well as a completely new spell tree for his victory over Skypeia's God, were clear signs of his evolving strength. Kai couldn't help but smile as he saw the new abilities at his disposal

This was what he had been working toward all along. His progress, though notable, only deepened his resolve. The potential that lay in front of him seemed endless, but he wasn't about to grow complacent.
He leaned against the ship's railing, the wind catching his hair, and stared out over the endless sea. He knew full well how powerful the world's true titans were. He'd witnessed their strength firsthand. He couldn't afford to rest easy or grow arrogant. He wasn't yet at the level where he could challenge the true monsters of the world, and even if he were, he wasn't foolish enough to do so without further preparation.
"Not without Haki," he muttered to himself, the thought weighing heavily on his mind. It was the one thing he lacked—the power to truly stand against the elite of the world.
