Nora's point of view….
Since I gave birth to Abigail this was my very first time I am feeling sad and wishing she is not my daughter. I might have pampered her and yes I know because she is my only child, our only daughter, Ben and my daughter. I gave her everything, I pampered her but I didn't fail to tell her the right thing and I scolded her whenever she was wrong. I wasn't all that strict because I don't know how to. I don't understand the sudden issue she is having with blues.
Blue used to be her favorite color until she turned 13 and she didn't want blue again. It was not supposed to be an issue, it was just color anyway.
"Hey darling, are you okay"
I turned and saw Ben standing at the door clutching a blue bag. He is back.
I chuckled in my mind, let the bag not be for Abigail.
I lifted my stare and let it rest on him,I smiled sadly.
"I think I am, I am not sure"
"What's wrong darling? You shouldn't be sad on a day like this"
"I know right but I don't understand Abigail, she has been acting weird."
He walked inside and closed the door. He dropped the bag and pulled me to himself and kissed my lips.
"I miss you. Now tell me, what do you mean she is acting weird?"
"I miss you too, I don't want to sound like I am missing her because she is going away. I didn't train my daughter, our daughter, to be like this. First she complained of the Blue dress gifted to her by Gina and second, she flared up because of a blue box Sharon gave to her"
Ben looked at me and looked at the bag she came in with.
"Does it mean she is not going to accept this gift as well because it's in a blue bag?"
"She will accept it, what is that anyway?"
I smiled at him.
"Not much. I found this pretty necklace on my way back from the company and I thought she might like it. But going by what you are saying, I don't think she's going to accept it. It's a blue diamond necklace. I bought it too much the dress Gina gifted her"
He said and pinched my nose
"You know what, she isn't wearing the blue dress anymore. She turned into black so I don't think the necklace is necessary. We will give it to Lily"
I replied.
"It's ok she has a lot of presents already. But don't be sad, she might be overwhelmed, probably sad she is leaving home and again she might be missing here. I think that will be the reason for the change in her attitude. you don't need to worry about it, alright? Smile for me"
"I hope so"
I muttered and Ben pulled me to him and hugged me tight.
"Sure"
After sometimes, he pulled away and stood up
"Everyone is ready, the venue for the party is ready, mom and dad are here. You are almost ready, the only person not ready is me. I need to freshen up, see you"
He picked a towel and went into the bathroom.
"By the way,where is Jeff?"
He asked at the bathroom door.
"He is outside with Sharon and Frank"
"Ok then"
He shut the door and the next minute, I heard the shower running.
I stood and went over to the bag and picked the little box out of it and opened it. The necklace was so beautiful and I wished Abigail would want it. She deserves the best and this necklace is the best. It's pure diamond and I know it's worth a lot.
"Mom"
I turned and saw Abigail standing at the door looking at the floor.
"Yes dear, come sit down"
She walked in and sat on the bed.
I dropped the necklace inside the box and put it aside and went over to her.
"I am sorry about earlier, I didn't mean to speak to you the way I did. Forgive me please"
Right here in my front is a sad looking Abigail and I know she is sorry.
"You are forgiven darling. You know I won't do anything intentionally to hurt you. I understand if you are overwhelmed and sad, it's okay. You are not going away like you are thinking, just that here will not be your home anymore"
I stared deep into her eyes,
"I love you my sweet daughter, forever"
