I sighed and sat down to let the ritual begin like she said.
"From land where we are born and the world where we live, the ocean that know our existence and the sky that smiles down at us, our sisters and brothers who lives at The great Beyond, I present to you the new Southern Lord who has been brought up and taught the laws of the Land and has pledged to put the people before him and has accepted a bride provided for him at birth, guide him, protect him and be with him as he embark on this new journey, new phase of his life."
Tiana mumbled and afterwards opened her eyes and stared deep into my eyes.
"Theophilus, can I have the necklace?"
She asked and I handed the necklace to her. I was relieved, for a moment I thought she had figured me out and was about to question me.
She pulled out a round golden plate and put the necklace inside then burnt the pieces of clothes and put the ashes inside the plate then poured a green potion inside and afterwards, closed her eyes again and began chanting. While she chanted, the green potion reserved the pieces of clothes back to how it was before and the necklace sparked as it turned from silver to gold then returned back to its originality. It was as if the pieces of clothes did not burn at all and the necklace never changed color.
I have never seen any magic more powerful than witch magic.
Tiana's enchantment came to an end and the candles went out of light and the room became dark.
"Kindly look in the mirror and tell me who you see"
She said, eyes still closed.
I stood up and faced mom's magic mirror.
An image manifested itself and when it became clear, I saw Livrus, my great grandma. She smiled beautifully then turned her back on me and walked away.
"Who did you see?"
Tiana asked, her voice brought me back to the present.
"Livrus"
I muttered, not so happy.
If it had occurred to me that it had to be Abigail, I would not have performed the ritual but I still would not want her to be so I might have done it anyway.
"Excellent, all you do tonight is give her the necklace and Mark her and that will be all. Congratulations, your highness"
I turned my back on the mirror and stared at Tiana as she bowed to me.
I felt different, I could tell. I could feel the high sense of power surging through me. I felt like a king, yes that is how I am feeling and it's damn good and as it is now, I don't care if Abigail is my mate. I am breaking rules tonight and I don't care who it's going to affect.
I bowed at Tiana too and smiled.
I must thank you, my lady. You have been a best friend, a nuisance and a disturbance ,someone who gave me a headache non-stop, who never allowed me to do otherwise, who made sure I wasn't doing the wrong thing, who always irritates me. The lady who knows me too well, the lady who knows my secret and yet she didn't tell my mom. I am grateful that you are a friend and more. Thank you my best friend, I might be the Lord you have made me to be but I won't forget that I am becoming the Lord because of you, through your guidance"
She smiled sadly.
"I was born for this. I trained your mom. I have trained someone before her. I trained you and I am definitely going to train your son. I will never get tired of doing what I was chosen to do . I am happy that after everything, you will become what destiny wants you to be. I am happy to see you all grown. I might be done with you but I am not done with you yet. I hope to disturb you like always. Your craziness made me fear that you might do the wrong thing, the late nights, the sleepover and the day dreams you had because of the human girl. I don't know how you did it but you proved me wrong today, you falling for a human girl doesn't mean you didn't know what to do. You chose the South after all."
I smiled at all that she said, only if she knew. I did not choose the South. I chose myself.
I left the chamber in my royal regalia and a mentality of a king who could do what he wants.
