11- Hurt or Pissed

"Whoa! What happened to you?" Cheska suddenly said, turning to me. She was currently cooking our breakfast when I came down. She looked at me like she had seen some kind of serial killer.

"Good Morning to you too, Ches," I replied, rolling my eyes at her playful concern. I leaned my elbows on the table and rested my head in my hands.

"Looks like someone's not having a good morning," she said with a smirk before turning back to cooking.

My head is pounding and I only managed to get two hours of sleep. To top it off, I have a 9 a.m. class. Not exactly the greatest start to the day.

"I didn't get much sleep last night," I told her.

She prepared a plate of bacon and eggs and placed it in front of me.

"Here, you should eat something if you're feeling tired," she suggested. She then retrieved a carton of milk from the fridge and handed it to me.

"I'm so grateful for you, Ches. I couldn't manage without you," I expressed with a smile to my friend.

"I know, so let's get you some food, Mia," Cheska replied, grinning at me. I nodded in agreement and began to eat.

Cheska added some bacon and bread to her plate before sitting across from me. We ate in silence, but I appreciated that Cheska respected my privacy regarding my love life. She always waits for me to share with her and supports whatever decision I make. I feel fortunate to have a friend like her.

After I finished my meal, I placed the dishes in the sink and washed them. As I was about to head to my room for a bath, Ches spoke up.

"Hey, my class starts at 10. Can I ride with you to school?" she asked, fidgeting with her fingers.

"Of course you can, silly! But you better take a bath first. I don't want us to be late," I replied with a laugh. Ches has a way of being adorable at times.

I went to my room and opened my closet to choose my outfit for the day. I decided on skinny black jeans and a striped black and white long-sleeve shirt. After laying them on my bed, I headed to the bathroom for a quick shower that lasted about 20 minutes.

When I finished my shower, I checked the time on my wall clock and realized that I only had 15 minutes left. I quickly got dressed, combed my hair, applied some lip gloss, put on my black doll shoes, grabbed my sling bag, and headed downstairs.

All of a sudden, I heard a male voice that seemed familiar. I assumed it was just a friend of Cheska's since I overheard them talking as I quietly descended the stairs. However, when I reached the last three steps, I froze in place.

"He's really serious, isn't he?" I thought to myself. "Wait, how does he know my schedule?"

Before I could even ask him, he beat me to it.

"Good morning, Princess," Clark greeted me with a smirk.

"Um, Mia, sorry I let him in. He said he spoke to you yesterday and he's here to pick you up," Ches said anxiously. To reassure her, I smiled at her.

"Don't worry, Ches. He did mention it to me last night, but I didn't think he was serious," I replied, turning to face Clark. However, there is something else we need to discuss.

"I'm sorry, but how do you know my schedule?" I questioned in disbelief. I slowly descended the stairs and approached them.

"It's all about connections, Princess," he replied with a smirk.

It felt familiar, almost like déjà vu. The same word Peter had used with me before.

"We should probably head out now so we won't be late," he said, snapping me back to reality.

"Hey, just so you know, Cheska will be coming with us," I mentioned, turning towards Cheska.

Cheska hesitated, "Oh, it's fine. I'll just take a cab instead."

"Come on, don't be like that. Join us! I won't bite," Clark joked with a playful tone, making Cheska blush. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him.

Cheska agreed and went to the living room to gather her belongings. In a few moments, we were ready to leave and headed outside. Cheska locked the door as we walked towards Clark's black BMW sedan. He opened the back passenger door for Cheska, who thanked him before getting in. As I went to enter the car, Clark interrupted me.

"I'm sorry, but you'll be sitting next to me," he said firmly, leaving no room for discussion. Cheska smiled and nodded at me, and I returned the gesture as Clark closed the door for her. He then came to the passenger side and opened the door for me. After getting in, I fastened my seatbelt.

It's surprising to discover that a bad boy or gang leader can also have gentlemanly qualities.

As he moves to the driver's seat and starts the engine, he turns to me and asks "Ready?" I simply nod and look out the window as we head towards school.

======================

As anticipated, all eyes were on us. How delightful!

"Clark and Mia, thank you for the ride. I must go ahead and finish my report. Goodbye!" My friend said before quickly running off. She is such a kind person.

"I should also start heading out, Clark. I don't want to..." I began to say before he interrupted me by walking beside me and saying, "Let's go," as he headed towards the campus. I remained in my spot, causing him to stop and give me a confused look, which was evident on his face.

"What do you think you're doing?" I asked with a glare. "As far as I know, we're not classmates in this subject."

"I know," he replied seriously. "But did you forget what I told you last night?"

His seriousness caught me off guard. Why was he bringing this up now? Was he just trying to get me back into bed again? That wasn't going to happen.

"I'm confused, why?" I asked.

"Let's discuss it later, Princess. You don't want to be late," he replied, smiling at me.

I nodded and walked alongside him, feeling uneasy under the gaze of others. I quickened my pace until we reached the classroom. I glanced up at Clark and saw him beaming at me, his smile genuine and unique.

"Thank you," I said with a sweet smile.

"No worries, go ahead. See you later," he replied, smiling back. I returned the smile before turning around and making my way into the classroom.

Looks like it's going to be a long day ahead.

=============================

"I heard that she's the new whore of Clark."

"How did Clark notice her? I bet she had sex with him."

"She's so ugly. What did he say to her?"

"Mitch would scare her away. She's Clark's girlfriend."

Those were just a few of the many mean words I heard from almost all the girls in my classes. My last class was already over but I had no courage to come out of this room. I don't want to hear words like that. I know I should not be discouraged, but I felt hurt, maybe because some words that they said to me were true and I hate that... I hate myself for that... I felt really low...

"Mia?" Ches suddenly appeared in my classroom. I looked up at her and when she saw me she hurriedly went beside me with a worried look.

"What happened?" She said while rubbing my back soothingly.

That's when I noticed I was crying. I wiped my tears away immediately.

"They are all mean. I'm not used to those mean words. I can act cool but I can't ignore the shitty words they all give me." I said, sobbing.

"Sshhh... It's okay Mia, just pretend that you don't hear anything that they say about you. They're just jealous because Clark's attention was now on you." She said and leaned her head on my shoulder.

"I knew that this would come but this is too much to take in," I said while wiping my tears with the back of my palm.

"You should stay strong if you want to be with Clark. Do you really like him? Or maybe you're just confused because of what happened to both of you" she suddenly said, which made me stop crying and think.

Maybe she's right...

Maybe I was just confused.

He's my first and I don't want to be one of the whores that keep on chasing him and offering their bodies to him. That's not like me.

"You know what, you're right, Ches. What should I do?" I said, looking at her intently.

"You should try to feel yourself when you're with him. I mean, you already know this, right? You had a boyfriend before, so you just need to do what you did before to assure you that he is serious about you or if he's just like you, confused." She said

For a second, I was speechless taking in what she told me, and then I suddenly nodded to her, making her smile. I smiled back at her and hugged her.

"Thank you Ches, it helps," I said and pulled away.

"What are friends for, right? So can we go to the cafeteria now? I'm really hungry." She said, causing me to laugh at her.

I started to gather my stuff and we both headed out to the cafeteria. As we were walking and talking about random stuff she does in her classes, we suddenly heard moaning in a janitor's closet which caused us to stop in our tracks. My heart suddenly thumps hard and fast. I don't know why, but I feel nervous all of a sudden. My palms started to sweat and shake a little.

"Let's go, Mia." Cheska suddenly said, tugging me to continue walking, but my guts said that I should check who was in there. So, without a second thought, I followed what I felt and that was to go and check who it was. I slowly walked into the janitor's closet and opened the door, which made me regret that I followed my instinct.

My books and notes suddenly fell to the ground, which made the two look in my direction.

There, I saw Clark kissing Mitch. His hands were on her hips. His mouth was covered with lipstick and his hair was all over the place. He looked at me like he had seen a ghost.

I immediately picked up my things and ran away... I heard Cheska calling me and Clark too, but I don't give a damn about him, but I felt sorry for Cheska for leaving her. I'll ask for her forgiveness later. But for now. I needed to run away... Away from Clark...

Maybe Cheska was right, he's just confused like me...

Maybe he's not that serious about going out with me, because he has never done that to any other girls.

I need to see Peter. I don't want his deal anymore. I know, it was just less than 24 hours and I'm quitting...

It's useless... I don't want anything that was involved with Clark anymore.

Enough of his shitty games. I'm done.
