43 World War Saitama: Part 3

Having lost contact with Strike Team Beta, Lex Luthor was once again not surprised that the team of superheroes had been vanquished by their objective. Despite being comprised of powerful magic users, the scientist had still given them only a 5% chance of being able to take down Saitama, and like their unfortunate predecessors, were more of a suicide mission than anything.

"Strike Team Omega…please report to the central flight deck," Lex ordered over the intercom as he stepped into his green and purple warsuit, which resembled a massive suit of metal power armor.

The 5 LexCarriers approached the shore as a pair of massive cargo doors opened at the bow of each one. Within the hold of the massive ships stood approximately 2000 robots that all bore a resemblance to a certain bald clown, with their 7-foot tall exoskeletons having a shiny, round head atop their broad shoulders, with lifeless, glowing-blue eyes staring out ahead of themselves. Their metal fists large and spring-loaded behind sleek, aerodynamic biceps, the warbots were designed specifically to combat Saitama, with each one having the ability to punch through obsidian.

"One-punch-bots, deploy now," Lex commanded as the robot army blitzed out of the carriers at blinding speeds and headed for the jungles, with each of the 1.2 billion dollar machines having the strength, speed, and agility to combat the average superhero. Even with 2000 of them, the supervillain still gave them a mere 1% chance of inflicting any difficulty upon Saitama, where the robot army was more of a distraction to give his team the time that they needed to deploy.

Levitating out of the flagship's bridge and landing on the flight deck using his warsuit, Lex watched as the group of heroes that he's pulled out of the multiverse walked out to meet him.

First up was a man dressed in an orange martial arts gi that had a blue belt going around the waist. A scar on his left cheek, the stranger had long, shaggy hair, and a broad smile across his face.

"Yamcha, was it?" Lex asked the man as he turned to another figure that was walking out to flight deck. "You and Homelander can attack from the air with me, while the others will hit the beaches with the one-punch-bots."

The second figure was a broad, blonde, muscular man who bore a red and blue costume, where a golden eagle head decorated his shoulder and a cape that was draped in the colors of the American flag hung down over his back. Luthor initially thought the superhero to be an alternate Kryptonian, but a combination of a crass, egotistical personality as well as the fact that he was nowhere near as powerful as a Kryptonian on Earth proved that he was no Clark Kent. Nonetheless, having the surface-level powers of Superman made him an asset.

Yamcha, on the other hand, was a skilled martial artist who could fly and conjure up ki energy, where he proved himself to be quite powerful in his own right. Though standing up straight and strong, ready for battle, Yamcha's face quickly went red with shyness as the team's third member stepped on deck. Sakura Haruno was her name, and she was a skilled, pink-haired ninja that was able to use various chakra techniques, where her specialty lay in her medical ninjutsu, which Lex figured would come in handy.

"Hey, hot-pink, let's say you and me get together later after this battle," the fourth member whistled flirtingly at Sakura as he emerged from the shadows behind her. "I have some pull with the guy that's writing this story, so I'm sure I can get him to type us a spicy romance scene."

Dressed in a black and red body suit that included a matching mask, was the mercenary and superhero known as Deadpool. Crude, rude, and already a huge pain in the ass to the scientist, the disfigured hero had powers that included a strong healing factor, as well as the uncanny ability to interact with an "audience" that lay outside the realm that they were in.

"Hey, is that any way to speak to a lady?" Yamcha chided the merc as he towered over him.

"I wasn't talking to you, handsome, but if you'd like to join us for a three-way…" Deadpool cooed as he began to flirtingly stroke the martial artist's arm.

"E-ewww, what the heck, dude?!" Yamcha shuddered as he squirmed away from the antihero.

Rolling her eyes, Sakura inched herself closer to Homelander, where she felt most out of place in the bizarre world that she'd been brought to. Like the others, the dimension-hopping Lex Luthor had begged them for assistance in saving his own realm, and like her teammates, had joined the scientist in vowing to help save billions of strangers from a bizarre, bald-headed villain.

"Listen, before we head out, I just want to thank you all once again for volunteering to leave your home worlds to help me save mine," Luthor began as he hovered up above the flight deck. "If we are successful, then you will all be returned to your dimensions, and will be immortalized in this one as heroes. Like I said during briefing, our opponent is immensely strong, and this mission will put your lives at risk. But given his own ability to traverse realities, it might have been only a matter of time before he set foot in yours. Let's defend the multiverse and stop this bastard here and now!"

"Well said, Mister Luthor," Homelander said with a broad smile as he clapped. "Let's give it our all, guys, for this world!"

Watching as the super powered man lifted into the air along with Yamcha and himself, the scientist shook his head at Homelander's false, heroic personality. Sakura and Deadpool, meanwhile, leapt off the deck of the massive ship and landed unharmed in the shallow waters below, where they began to wade towards the shore as the army of one-punch-bots already streamed ahead to hunt for Saitama.

Leading the two other airborne heroes, Lex flew ahead as the jungles began to pass below him. The NATO fleet stood at the ready to deploy their own troops, while a secret weapons remained back at the LexCarrier as a sort of last resort, should their team fail. Sighing as he looked between his interdimensional teammate, Luthor ran several scenarios through his head as he struggled to calculate their odds of taking Saitama down without the use of his trump card.
