Morning

It was a beautiful morning when the alarm woke Jane for the third time after completely snoozing it. She sat on her bed yawning out loudly and rubbing her eyes. She looked at her window and saw the beautiful morning sun peeking through her windows and the birds singing.

Getting up on her feet, she walked to her door to head down the stairs. Holding the door's knob, her phone rang making her raise a brow probably thinking of who might be calling her so early in the morning. She lazily walked up to her bed, still yawning, to pick up the phone. On the line, her eyes could only widen in shock or in surprise while talking to the person over the phone, and her expression went back to normal when she replied.

"Ok" was all she said then hung up.

She stood there for a while and finally went to sit down on a chair close to her window. Staring at the open space through her window and the sky, it was certain she was lost in her own thoughts.

"Jane..." A voice called out jolting her back to reality.

Realizing who was holding her left shoulder, she smiled and stood up to hug her grandma.

"Good morning granny."

"What were you thinking about? I've been calling out for the past two minutes at the door but you weren't replying me. Is anything the matter dear?"

Pulling from the hug she could only stare at her grandma lovingly.

"I'm sorry grandma."

"It's alright my dear." She said smiling. "Just don't worry yourself too much ok."

"Yes grandma."

"You woke up late today. You haven't had breakfast, and have you said your morning prayers?" Said her grandma who was intensely staring at her eyes as if searching for an answer.

Jane could only stare at her grandma with those loving big brown eyes of her's. She wanted to say something to tease her that she shouldn't worry, but knowing her grandma, she would probably call her by her nickname which she so much hate, to annoy her this morning. She just smiled and held her hand.

"I will do all those okay, grandma."

"Okay."

They hugged one more time before her grandma turned her back on her to head downstairs. When she held the door's knob, her face suddenly became serious and also her voice.

"And don't forget you have an appointment with the doctor today." She said without looking back and left the room shutting the door.

Jane still stood there for a while letting out a frustrating sigh. Knowing her grandma, even though she didn't look at her, Jane could tell how serious she was and could only let out a frustrating sigh again looking at the ceiling.

How she wished they would listen to her. How she wished they would understand her and that her mind has been made up already. She could only shake her head then went to the bed to say her morning prayers and did the rest of her chores.
