Goodbye

*****

She went downstairs with her luggage in her hands. Her heart was really heavy. She had no plans of leaving before the two weeks finally pull to an end. But at the same time, she didn't want to see those angry looks on his face if she was the cause of it. Mr Bo had assisted taking her luggages outside. She stared around the house once more, and a sad broken tears rolled down her eyes.

"I never knew saying goodbye could be this difficult." She said in a crying broken voice, talking to the empty space in front of her. "I never thought I'd have to say goodbye to you this way, but thank you. Thank you for accepting me in the journey of our two weeks relationship. Thank you for all the moment we shared and spent together. Thank you for all the new experience I learnt. Thank you for...fulfilling my last bucket list." She cried out more and her voice broke down more also. "I hope....I hope you can find the happiness you're looking for." She sniffed and wiped away her tears and headed for the door.

Her eyes scanned all through the house interior outside, looking at the beautiful flowery yard and the waterfall. 'This will be my last time here'. She spoke inwardly feeling more sad.

"Ma'am?" Kevin called out. "Are you ready to go now?"

Jane immediately whipped her head to him. Her saddened face now cloaked with puzzled expression. She kept staring at him looking really puzzled as her brows arched.

"Kevin?" She called out that name after a while of examining him.

"Yes ma'am."

She tried to shake off the thought that it wasn't him. But that voice that night, she knew it belonged to someone not too close to her and she could swear with her life that his voice sounded really similar to that person.

"You...You...It was you....."

Kevin's face suddenly etched in utter confusion. "I'm sorry ma'am, but I have no idea what you're talking about." His calm voice resonated in her ears.

She shook her head slightly, trying to digest everything. "You...That night....I...No. I mean you...."

"Good morning beautiful." Spoke a voice in her ears and the hands wrapping around her waist.

She turned around immediately and took a step backwards. Her heart thudded in fear.

"I guess you're leaving so soon." Said Felix smiling at her.

Her body had become too terrified to speak.

He walked closer to her and caressed her face with the back of his hand and stared at her swollen eyes. His lips wried up. "I wonder why such a beautiful and kind hearted girl like you waste such precious tears on someone that can never be yours? Tsk, tsk, tsk tsk tsk, so sad my darling."

She took a step backwards again. Her legs now trembling in fear.

"I have no idea why you're scared of me." He said after seeing the terrified look slammed on her face. "I'm actually a nice guy you know " He took a step closer to her again and leaned his face closer to hers. "More nicer than the guy you claim to be in love with." He spoke in a whisper. "Unfortunately, even if you guys want to be together, the universe just cannot make that happen for the both of you." He spoke to her face and his thumb gently caressing her pink lips. His eyes travelled down to her emerald necklace then back to her face. "But don't worry too much my darling, the universe can accept the both of us."

Her heart skipped a beat in fear. She took another step backwards. His lips wried up. "Don't worry my darling, you'll get to love me soon." He winked . "I think you should get going now my darling, because if you're waiting for your ex lover...." He paused, inhaled and exhaled the flowery scent, smiling at her. "You won't see him even if you want to bid your last goodbye." He smiled wider and took a step closer to her. He placed a kiss on her cheek causing her body to stiff. "Goodbye my darling." He said and left.

Drawing herself to the present, she walked to the car Kevin had opened earlier for her. The drive was really quiet and her heart was really broken. She wished she had seen him for one more time before she left. A tear rolled down from her eyes as memories she shared with him began playing in her head. Even though the next day would make it the two weeks they agreed on, she decided to do this for him. She could no longer bear him getting angry because of her. She didn't want to inflict her unhappy cursed life to him. She knew deep within herself that he deserves nothing but more happiness. If she could not be the one to give him that happiness he truly deserves, she wished that person would come to his life one day. More tears rolled down from her eyes. At this point, she really felt like a curse to her family and those she loves so much.
