Turn Back the Clock

Just like the Alex I have remembered, and I let him go since he is homophobic of sort. He is not exactly normal either, considering his taste in women. Not girls but women. But as long as Alex doesn't come anywhere near my –

I search my pockets for my phone before realizing why I am in the infirmary. It has been so long that I totally forgot who I was before the nightmare begins. "Alex. Let me make a call."

"Really? They fucking stole your phone again, didn't they? What the hell are the teachers doing?" Alex curses and tosses me his phone. "Don't talk too long. I don't have much credits left."

I chuckle and immediately dial home.

And I cannot help but sob when I heard the all too familiar voice on the other side.

"Mum," I state simply, and it is enough to convey my emotion.

"Zander? What's the matter, honey? Aren't you supposed to be in class?" my mother questions. Those questions of hers always get on my nerve but not this time, for I have not been able to speak to her in so long. So very long.

"Yes, I am, mum," I answer. "Please…"

I stop myself as I remember my mother had survived the onslaught through sheer lucks, so if I deviated from what was my history, her lucks might just run out. Changing the course of events is not always a good thing, as things could turn out for the worst.

But then again, I have already deviated since I should not have called her right now.

"Please take care of yourself," I finish the sentence and hang up. Knowing that my mother is still alive is enough for now, as I have things I must do before the Ruler of the Death appears and ruins the day for everyone.

I check the clock, finding it will happen in the next 10 minutes or so. I would have liked to be sent back earlier, but I suppose the Aspect of Time has some cruel humors. Or maybe this is all he could help me with.

In any case, I must prepare.

"Status," I request as I hand the phone back to Alex.

"What?" Alex questions.

"I said do you have money on you?" I ask and take note of the response from the System. I wonder if I still have my Merchant class, but from the response from the System, I am unsure. If I no longer have a class, the System should not response to me. However, it responded, but it appears to be corrupted.

What does that all mean?

"You should really stand up for yourself man," Alex advises and checks his wallet. "What do you need it for?"

"Not me. You. Go buy a couple of guns and meet me on the roof," I tell him.
