One Last Merchant

Magic is not real. Monster that defy logics should not exist. Yet, I cannot refute what is before my very eyes. What my mangled body has told me through painful experiences. What my dying mind has comprehended with my last willpower. The world that I have once lived in changed abruptly one day, and the new era dawned for the human race. It is done by the hands of those who are known as Rulers. They call it mercy, but I know it is a game to them. If they truly wish to help the human race, then there surely a better way than sacrificing billions to uplift the selected few. The Zoning Events was set in stone, and the dimensional barrier collapses, allowing the monsters that we could never hope to defeat with our current technology to enter our universe. Allowing horrifying worlds and landscapes to merge with our own. And through blood, sweat, and fear, we understand that our science cannot truly surpass the natural law of the universe. Only through magic, the human race might survive. Only through magic, a better future can be reached. Everything has its price, and no price is too great for the second chance. This is the story of the last Merchant. One Last Merchant. *** Disclaimer: This story contains graphical sex scenes and depictions of torture! Please enjoy! Between Brother and Sister

Everyone follows me out of the parking lot and towards the back gates, but Thomas quickly falls behind since his wounds are becoming a serious problem. His sister immediately stops running and comes to his side, rendering him help while calling out to me and the rest of the gang.

I sigh and come to their aid with everyone despite wanting to leave them behind. Is that a bad thing?

Honestly, I do not know Thomas and Jessica all that well, even in school. I only am aware of them due to them being one of the survivors of the Death Zone the first time around. And from their expressions and appearances in my memory, they looked like they had lost the will to live.

Whatever happens to them afterwards, I am unsure. But since they were awakened, they might have been enlisted by the US Government to raid Dungeons and close Portals. If that is the case, they might have died or gotten themselves lost in another time and space.

Almost all the first group of Awakens (or Supers) met similar fates, and it is only through their sacrifices that the later groups manages to survive. Although, everyone dies in the end.

Except for me.

"Can you help my brother, Zander?" Jessica asks while Thomas groans in pain. He is sweating profusely as well, and it doesn't seem to be the loss of bloods.

I immediately remove some of his bandages just to check his wounds. "Thomas. You should have said something earlier. This is fucking serious. How the fuck you're still able to move around?"

"I thought… it was fine… since the bleeding… has stopped," Thomas responses weakly. "Also… I didn't want to slow… everyone down..."

I shake my head and press my fingers against the infection. "You have been infected. With what, I am not sure, but if you don't get treated soon, you will…"

The last part is unsaid, but everyone knows what I wanted to say. Also, Thomas is no longer awake.

"No. No. You can't become one of those things, Thomas. You can't," Jessica calls out and hugs her big brother tightly. "We have to get you to the hospital. We have to."

I get up and stare at the hospital in the distant. Getting there is going to be a pain, and there is a good chance that they will not be able to do anything for Thomas. The infection is magical in nature. Science cannot solve that kind of problems.

Not until it manages to advance to the point that magic is indistinguishable from science.

"I don't think there is anyone in the world can help your brother right now," I break the truth to Jessica and begin to walk away.

"That's a lie! You're lying! You're lying!" Jessica calls out loudly. "You'd said that Life Crystal thingy can save his life! Give it to me! Give it to me!"

I stare at her before taking out the item from my inventory and hand it to her. "I did say probably, and without me, you will only make his monsterification faster."

Jessica grips the crystal in her hands as it glows eerily. She breaks down since she has no clue what to do with it. "Please help my brother, Zander, I will do anything. Please."

I hope that you enjoy the chapter.
