One Last Merchant

Magic is not real. Monster that defy logics should not exist. Yet, I cannot refute what is before my very eyes. What my mangled body has told me through painful experiences. What my dying mind has comprehended with my last willpower. The world that I have once lived in changed abruptly one day, and the new era dawned for the human race. It is done by the hands of those who are known as Rulers. They call it mercy, but I know it is a game to them. If they truly wish to help the human race, then there surely a better way than sacrificing billions to uplift the selected few. The Zoning Events was set in stone, and the dimensional barrier collapses, allowing the monsters that we could never hope to defeat with our current technology to enter our universe. Allowing horrifying worlds and landscapes to merge with our own. And through blood, sweat, and fear, we understand that our science cannot truly surpass the natural law of the universe. Only through magic, the human race might survive. Only through magic, a better future can be reached. Everything has its price, and no price is too great for the second chance. This is the story of the last Merchant. One Last Merchant. *** Disclaimer: This story contains graphical sex scenes and depictions of torture! Please enjoy! Benefits of a Party

I can safely rely on Alex to watch over my mother while she sleeps. Although I do want to be there by her side when she wakes up, she will not be waking up any time soon, unfortunately. As such, I rather spend my precious time doing something more productive instead.

Like robbing a bank. And maybe ranking up some of my skills and abilities.

There are always things to do, and so little time to do them.

"Dude," Alex calls me. He is talking over the Intercom – a communication channel for members within the same Party or Guild. "Why did you just leave your... What do you call this thing anyway? An avatar? Whatever. Why did you leave it here? Others are going to freak out."

"Yes, it's an avatar, as I wasn't sure how powerful the monsters are," I response via the Intercom. I am unsure what others he is talking about, so I ignore that part. "Just put it into the Stockpile for me since I cannot teleport out of the Caravan while it is in transit."

Alex does so, as it appears in the Stockpile. Having a shared inventory allows trading of items between members of the Party regardless of where each member is. It is that useful. Very useful.

I take the avatar out of the Stockpile and sell it to the Shop System for some recuperations. I also buy another avatar to possess, as it is much safer to wander around in a disposable corpse. As for myself, I will teleport to the Subway Station when it is time.

Alex knows about the Shop System as I had revealed to him the first time around, but he doesn't know the full extent of its capabilities, and I suppose it is better that way, as the Shop System is only available to some classes (or professions), and Merchant is one of those classes.

Other classes such as Ranger has access to the Market instead, and they have to enter there in person.

Strangely enough, I do not have access to the Market, but since Alex can access it, he can bring me as a member of his Party.

"Alex, I forgot to mention, but at least one of those women is a trojan horse. You know, like that place we went as a Party. Troy?" I inform Alex. "Anyway, just be careful. Also, don't tell those guys anything that I would not tell them myself. And please don't tell Alice anything."

"Okay. Okay, and okay. I will keep my mouth shut. Not like I don't have things to do with my free time anyway," Alex responses. "Oh, by the way, why did you awaken your Spiritual Power this early? It will be really hard for you to master Magic."

"Couldn't help it," I answer and wonder if I should tell Alex about Stellar, as they do not see eye to eye with one another. I decide to hold it off for now. I also decide not to tell Alex about the other Powers, as he does not need to know about them yet.

Alex might have already known about Psionic Power since one of the members had talked about it.

"Couldn't help it? That's all?" Alex questions.

"For now, yes. I will tell you the actual reason some other time," I promise. "And don't copy me, Alex. You should focus on Magic, as it is more useful for your class."

Alex does not response, so I just leave it at that. He might listen to me, and he might not. Since it is his class, he should know what is best. As for me, I need to increase my Wealth.

I hope that you enjoy the chapter.
