Chapter two

After that little incident I realized I was being delusional so what if he knows my name he's that kind of guy. He behaves like the king of Westwood but also have some decent friends and sometimes he sits with us nerds and outcasts too albeit, it's only to make sure his popularity doesn't dwindle, it's natural that you know the name of people you socialize with, shocking I know. So after giving myself this speech I headed towards the school parking lot to unlock my Corolla and get the heck out of there before someone spots me yet again. On my way home I cranked up the radio and Mood by 24kGoldn was playing on it I let the music drown out all of my thoughts.

As soon as I'm home, there's loud and incessant barking by Cassie, my golden retriever she is in a frenzy as if I've been gone a month and not for a few hours I dodged her and entered my house with the spare key left beneath the receptacle containing azalea bush. My parents are rarely home and when they are at home they're always at each other's throats but despite their differences they both love me unconditionally. After throwing my backpack in my room I immediately go to the kitchen for some lunch. In my haste to ditch school I forgot to eat at the cafeteria, as I open the fridge I'm sorely disappointed to find nothing except the leftover lasagna from yesterday I'm highly tempted to order a pizza but refrain seeing as the way I'm gaining pounds it's not healthy for me instead I grab the container with lasagna and put it in the oven to heat. After eating I went upstairs to complete the damn project. We had to make an art which depicts depression accurately so far all I've come up with is a picture which is half completed. It shows a girl standing amidst a crowd full of people but still looking sad, withdrawn and lonely I put the canvas over my easel and completed the rest of my painting. I got up to stretch my stiff muscles when the doorbell rang. I went down to open the door and was surprised to see a woman, my parent's age immaculately dressed in trousers paired with a white lace blouse. She smiled looking at me "We're your new neighbors, we just wanted to say hello and introduce ourselves. I'm Patricia Grover, it's nice to meet you" she shook my hand with a firm grip " It's nice to meet you too Mrs. Grover I'm Paige Callahan" I replied "Boys, come here at once and introduce yourselves to your neighbor come on now don't be rude" she yelled and immediately two boys of about my age came barreling down the driveway and said "Hey" almost at the same time Mrs. Grover watched the confusion over my face and laughed good naturedly "Yeah, they're twins almost identical but their personalities are way more different you'll be able to differentiate them once you get to know them. Okay guys I'm off to work I'll bring takeout in the evening for dinner until then order a pizza or something" She smiled at me and was gone.

One of the guys came forward "I'm Reid and the loser over there, he's Ethan" he gestured towards where Ethan was standing "Hey, I can introduce myself no thanks" "Anyways, we're starting our senior year at Westwood High next week and we were hoping for someone to guide us around here..." said Reid "Don't fall for it Paige, he's just hitting on you" said Ethan and dodged Reid when he tried to punch him. I laughed and agreed to help them "Thanks lass, it means a lot" said Reid in this ridiculous Irish brogue and were off towards their house. They both are quite attractive I notice, with blond curls and identical aquamarine eyes. I bet they are quite the troublemakers. This year should be interesting.
