Scarlett signed to her self slowly to avoid pain.
"Scarlett, What did Heath say to you?" Jacklyn asked once again.
Ash then entered the room to find Jacklyn still talking to Scarlett. He stood in the doorway for a few minutes then slid himself in and slowly shut the door. Scarlett shuffled herself up and leant against the metal headboard of the hospital bed. She signed and clenched her heart in pain. She let the pain subside then began explaining;
"Lo-o-ok. I-I told you t-t-two t- go outsi-ide b-becau-se I knew what-what would happe-en. I-I k-knew Heath was n-n-o mat-tch f-f-for me-e-e. I-I-I just-t didn't-t wan-nt you-ou guys t-to get h-hurt-t, Sorry." Scarlett tried to speak.
"So, what I'm hearing is that you tried to get us out of there to protect us while you take the pain?" Jacklyn questioned.
Scarlett nodded.
"Why would you risk your life for us? We could of all taken him down." Ash exclaimed.
"N-no Ash. Y-y-ou don't-t know-w who he really i-is" Scarlett said,
Ash walked over to Scarlett and stood next to Jacklyn.
"h-he- A-s-sked me if i-i was s-s-till drink-ing bl-oo-d-d. He swore he-he'd k-kill me for k-killing-g Man-nson. You g-g-uys were p-p-retty mu-uch there for-r the r-r-rest-t. Next t-thing-g i-i knew he-e- had stabbed me. Bloo-d-dd was everywh-ere." Scarlett struggled to say.
"Scarlett? Heath swore he'd kill you?" Ash questioned concerned.
Scarlett slowly nodded as she drifted back to sleep. Ash looked at Jacklyn with a very concerned expression.
"Jacklyn, We need to find Heath! He is going to kill her!" Ash exclaimed under his breath.
Jacklyn nodded.
"Yes, Ash I know. We'd better leave Scarlett here for a while. She needs to stay relaxed and out of harm's way. We better deal with this ourselves if he really meant what he said he will come looking for Scarlett here so, we need to stop him." Jacklyn whispered to Ash.
Ash nodded, He picked up their stuff from the other side of the room and left. They soon later returned home. The whole ride home Ash and Jacklyn were talking about how they could keep Scarlett safe but also deal with Heath at the same time. They entered the house and sat back down at the table they recently were at. Jacklyn threw her head into her hands.
"God, What the heck are we gonna do? look at Scarlett. Now we have to deal with Heath." Jacklyn said,
"Jacklyn, Think of this. like you told me, If Heath really wanted Scarlett dead he would have done it right there." Ash said.
Jacklyn removed her head from her hands and looked at Ash then slowly nodded.
"I guess so, But maybe he just wanted to torture us. Punish us, He will kill Scarlett, I have a feeling She isn't safe. None of us are." Jacklyn exclaimed.
"Yeah. You're right but Jacklyn, Scarlett can handle herself you know that. She put up a right fight to keep us safe. Scarlett is one stubborn girl you know this. She knew she wasn't a match for him but she still tried now it is our turn!" Ash said followed with a soft smile.
After a while of discussing how Ash and Jacklyn would deal with Heath but also keep Scarlett safe, the day began drawing to a close. The rooms natural lightening began fading, the sky turning a dark royal blue. The birds chirping began stopping and the lights began flickering on outside. Voices began dying down and it became silent. Jacklyn and Ash both headed off to bed to rest after a stressful day and minds of racing thoughts.
A few days had passed and Jacklyn and Ash remained inside, plotting their revenge. The sky began warming up with colours of red, orange, yellow and peach. Birds began chirping to start their day, people running or driving to work, the once so dark house began filling up with light. Looking more alive than a cave. It was still dark upstairs as Ash and Jacklyn were still in their bedrooms. Jacklyn lay awake in her bed looking at the black and silver metal clock that hung just above the door.
"Ten thirty-one. thirty-two, thirty-three. Okay shut up, you're so annoying Jacklyn. You're actually losing it now. Get up you're so lazy.." She said to herself.
Jacklyn threw the sheets off herself and got dressed; She did her normal makeup with her green hair down and straight. Heavy eyeliner, green eyebrows, white contacts, dark vampire red-purple colour lips. On her neck was a spiked choker with safety pins in between the spikes, she put on a fishnet shirt, a black button shirt with the buttons undone, A black PVC underbust corset. Skinny jeans with lace-up details down the side. On her feet were the new rock boots that she called "Stampy boots."
Jacklyn then proceeded downstairs to her surprise the lights were on. She heard the kettle boiling and the smell of coffee filled her nostrils. She proceeded slowly but cautiously of who or what could be downstairs, when she reached the bottom of the stairs she picked up Ash's knife from the desk next to the door and entered the living room. Jacklyn turned the corner into the kitchen.
"Scarlett? Is that you?" Jacklyn said cautiously.
Scarlett turned around with a teaspoon in her mouth and smiled towards Jacklyn. She removed the teaspoon and placed it on the side.
"Woah! Easy on there, it's just me, Put the knife down. I was discharged so I thought I'd come home. Why the knife. We're you gonna kill me?" Scarlett laughed.
"No, Just in case, ya know. It was Heath or something. I'm glad you're here, It's not been the same without you" Jacklyn said overjoyed and placed the knife on the counter.
"I guess there goes my surprise coffee in bed" Scarlett giggled.
Jacklyn gave Scarlett a tight hug but Scarlett immediately pulled away.
"OUCH!" Scarlett screamed holding her stomach.
"DAMN IT, I'm so sorry, I forgot. How are you healing anyway? " Jacklyn questioned.
"Good, I feel all fine. Nothing really hurts apart from my stomach and chest, They were the worse ones. I finally accepted what happened. I nearly died, but I rather of died than let him hurt you or Ash." Scarlett smiled.
Jacklyn went over to help Scarlett set the table for breakfast and coffee. They sat down at the table talking while waiting for Ash to come downstairs.
Ash then made his way downstairs a few minutes later he had the same hairstyle as usual. He was just wearing black ripped skinny jeans, a Blood red coloured ripped tank top and a leather jacket. On his feet were black combat boots. He entered the kitchen and practically went running over to Scarlett from behind and throwing his arms around her front
"OUCH. My gosh, Anybody else wanna do that!" Scarlett screamed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. How are you? You look sore." Ash apologized and placed himself at the table.
"I am fine. So, What are we doing about Heath then?" Scarlett questioned
"Well, We have to kill him right Ash?" Jacklyn asked.
"We are not doing anything," Ash said with his eyes pinned down at his food.
Scarlett threw a confused look at him. The room hit an all-time silent point. They just sat there drinking their coffee and eating in silence because of Ash until Scarlett broke the silence.
"Guys, Speaking of Heath, where did you put my sword?" She questioned cautiously.
"Scarlett. I've put it away... I don't want you doing anything reckless again." Ash said in a single deep breath.
"What! WHY!" Scarlett yelled slamming her hands on the table.
"Scarlett. Love, I don't want you getting killed. Look at you, Look what happened. I can't let you do this to yourself." Ash said gently.
"Don't love me, Ash, You do not control my life. I will hunt if I want too. I am fine, I'm aware of what happened and I did it to myself so, Give me it back." Scarlett snapped.
"Scarlett... Please, You'll pop your stitches." Jacklyn said.
"No, This is my choice. Not his, I come back to this. To you trying to take a huge part of my life away!" Scarlett snapped,
"Scarlett. No. I can't let you do this." Ash said getting irritated.
Scarlett rose to her feet and slammed her hands on the table once again.
"Ash! You do NOT control me. You have NO right to take that sword from me. You are NOT my dad, You're not my parents, I can do what I want. I'm in this condition cause I wanted to protect YOU. Keep YOU safe. That's my property." Scarlett yelled.
"SCARLETT! I never asked you too. That was your RECKLESS CHOICE" Ash snapped back to Scarlett.
"What if Heath comes back here!? How would I defend myself cause you have taken my sword away. Exactly, I wouldn't be able to. I need it in case that does happen. You'd need my help, He's no joke" Scarlett yelled,
Scarlett soon fell to the floor in pain. Holding her chest and stomach from all the yelling. Jacklyn got up and helped Scarlett to her feet.
"Stop it, Scarlett, You will kill yourself. Please, Calm down" Jacklyn tried to calm Scarlett.
"Love, Please just understand me," Ash said softly.
"Don't love me! You cannot stop me. You are no match for Heath by yourself." Scarlett stumbled to say.
"NEITHER ARE YOU. LOOK AT YOU. JUST STOP IT, YOU WILL KILL YOURSELF. STOP BEING SO DAMN RECKLESS. YOU ARE GOING TO GET KILLED." Ash said like a demon.
"Can you guys just stop this? You're like kids" Jacklyn sighed.
"I'd die happily hunting and keeping you two safe, Why can't you understand that Ash?" Scarlett said.
"Scarlett? Do you really want to keep hunting? Putting your life on the line all the time? Please think about this." Jacklyn said softly to stop raising drama or arguments.
"I do, I want to do this," Scarlett said determinedly.
Jacklyn looked at Ash.
"She does have a point. What if Heath does come back Ash" Jacklyn said.
"Fine, I'm sorry I shouldn't have taken your sword away. If hunting is really what you to do then fine have it. I understand what Jacklyn is saying." Ash gave in.
Ash climbed up to the shelves and grabbed a box that appeared to be collecting dust. He passed it to Scarlett who opened it like a kid on Christmas.
"Scarlett. We have to put an end to this." Jacklyn said directly to Scarlett.
"I couldn't agree more," Scarlett said smiling to herself.
