Chapter 2

The next day was Halloween, well no school today and am at work today. gosh today is slow, Trent is not around and it's just me and his grandma. which is surprising,I thought old people were meant to be resting by now or at least retire. Any way am going home today am not really happy about that because my siblings are going to disturb my life. At least I get to see them before they go back to school. Well today the shop was closed early so I was able to go pack my stuff and head home. I got home and was surprised because the house was eerily quite which was odd.

"mum,dad"I called but none answered I tried again but still no answer. I got to the living room and saw my parents tied up I ran to my parents and hugged them

"mum,dad, who did this?,what happened here"I said as I looked around. I untied my parents and started crying again

"it's okay Suzy,your siblings are in your aunt house so don't worry" my mum said, I was about to ask what happened when I heard someone call my dad's name

"Charles Night,am here for my money" the voice said as it came closer.

"I have not gotten everything yet, please give me more time" my dad said as he stood up and pushed me behind him

"I have given you a year yet you have not given me my money,I can't give any more chance either my money or I kill your family" the man said as he came under the light.

"please, a week at least"

"No, Charles now".

My dad tried begging but the next thing I heard were three gun shot fired at my parents although one bullet graced my shoulder I fell with them on the ground using my dad's body as a shield on my body to avoid being hit directly. I smeared some of his blood on my face so that it looked like I was actually dead. After an hour they left the house. Taking with them my mum's pearl necklace, my dad's car,took the money in the safe and some expensive things. I looked at my parents and cried aloud because they were the only people I knew, well apart from my aunt but still,I don't even know how to break this news to my siblings. I can't even tell them. I took my phone out and called Amy

"hey,"I said as I sniffed.

"are you crying?,what happened ?tell me"

"well a group of men came to my house and killed my parents because of money that they were owing them"

I then heard some shuffling and then heard Amy shout Anthony name

"what is it, this time?" I heard Anthony say in a not so good way.

"Suzy parents were killed"Amy said without thinking

"Amy," I whisper shout her name

"oh,sorry I couldn't ju-" the next thin I heard was Anthony saying he'll come over,then the line went dead. Like what just happened. Two hours passed and still Anthony had not yet shown up I was about to close my door when I saw headlights shinning in my direction.Out of fear I locked the door and ran to the kitchen and carried a knife for self defense I heard my front door open then I heard Anthony shout my name. I sighed and dropped the knife and went to meet him in the living room.

"are you okay?"he asked as he held me and checked me with his eyes

"am fine"I said as I gave us some space

He looked around the house and saw how everywhere was scattered,me on the other started crying because my parents are dead,my siblings don't know about it and I don't even know how to tell them. I fell on my knees and wept aloud. Anthony came up to me and hugged me and muttered some soothing words to me.After some minutes passed I stopped crying and stood up. I entered my room and layed on my bed and was counting the made up stars when I heard Anthony enter my room.

"am sorry about your parents"

"no need to apologize, you didn't kill them but I swear I will ruin him, I'll make sure he pays for what he did to my family"

I said as I clenched my sheets in anger. Anthony was still looking at me when I heard some noise down stairs

"stay here"

Anthony said as he brought out a gun,

"and don't make a sound"

Anthony left my room and went down stairs,I on the other hand just stayed in my room for an hour then I heard it. two gun shot sounded and I was scarred not for me but Anthony, I can't believe I left him there alone,I was about to move from my bed when I heard room door open,I froze and didn't know what to do then I heard Anthony call out for me. I sighed in relief and went to hug him, thanking him for saving and protecting me. After a minute I let go of him and sat on my bed

"so what am I going to do?,am sure those men came for me"

"your going to be staying with Amy,at least for now"

Anthony said as he was giving orders on the phone

"but won't they track her and kill her?"

"not with the body guard that will be following you guys"

I sighed as I layed on my bed and this time I wanted to sleep, after staying awake for an hour nothing happened, I looked at the wall clock and saw it was past one, as if my body knew I yawned and slept off. I woke up and saw I was in king sized bed .I looked around and saw I was not in Amy's house. I took my phone out and a text from Amy

"hey, sorry about the sudden change but you'll be staying with Anthony for a while please I'll explain when I get back love you😘"

I sighed as I read the text. I guess I'll just continue my sleep then. I went to bath and did the necessary things and climbed the bed and then layed down. I have a lot of work to do tomorrow and I need all the strength I can get.
