Once Human, Now a Parasite β

Arthur Bilgart was a successful and vastly wealthy businessman on Earth. However, he was kidnapped and tortured by his wife, Claudia, who was after everything he owned. He was tortured and isolated from the world for no less than a year before miserably dying. But death wasn't the end for he was reincarnated into a parasite in a foreign world. Volume 1: The Blood Purge (Chp 1 to 29) Volume 2 : The Mysterious Bottle (Chp 30 to 43) Volume 3 : The Bloated Murderer (Chp 44 to 65) Volume 4: Ruination (Pt1): Single-Minded Pursuit (Chp 66 to 86) Volume 4 : Ruination (Pt2): Feast of Lies and Sea of Spies (Chp8 to 128) Volume 5 : The Shadow Keep Penitentiary(Pt1): 'Why was the goose sad?'(Chp129 to ?) If you're interested in the premise, I will give some exposition on what to expect. First and foremost, the story, especially at the beginning, can have a slow pace to flesh out the world and characters. The plot will follow the parasite's second life in a new world in which Magic exists. Rather than focusing too much on non-stop and nonsensical fights, there will be a lot of focus on Arthur's psychological issues, his motives and beliefs. His views on the new world and opinions on moral relativism, the ruling aristocracy, the study of historical records and so on... Instead of a direct plot from beginning to end (Such as the generalized 'Defeat the Demon King), this story is more about self-discovery and the unravelling of ancient mysteries and forgotten history. It is about the character development of not only Arthur but other characters and how their actions affect the world. Arthur isn't inherently noble or unconditionally just, but he also isn't purely driven by lunacy or evil-oriented intentions. The MC is neither OP nor pitifully weak. This is not about someone reincarnated into a world just to become an undefeated force that simply kills everyone. There will be chapters dedicated to Lore or the travails of supporting characters. There are relatively detailed maps that I've created myself, which can be found here: The maps contain SPOILERS about regions and locations. https://ibb.co/xDPk4zz https://ibb.co/smKDgds There will be a System, one which isn't overly-complex nor too simplistic. In the beginning, at least, it is more of a visual and numerical representation of the MC's growth as he learns more about his Race and what it is capable of. Without delving into any details, the following are what you will find in this story: Exploring the world; Meeting new people, discovering fascinating cultures, deepening one's understanding of existence's history, delving into Politics. At some points, the story will be dark and quite disturbing. Chapters are between 1500 and 3000 words. One last thing: I'm not a native English-speaker, therefore, my grammar isn't flawless. I try my best to make everything coherent and enjoyable, but I might make a mistake or two along the way. If you notice anything, be sure to let me know and I will fix it. Apologies in advance and I hope you like the story.

Chronicles of Lost Eras 2

'Chronicles of Lost Eras

Author: Historian and Archeologist François Boulard.

Date Year 684 of the 6th Era.

Chapter 3 : The Twelve Creation Gods

'The following chapter, written by I, Francois Boulard, does not contain abridged or faulty information. It is the truth I heard from the fabled Garden of Knowledge.'

Before the formation of the natural laws of existence or the creation of the known cosmos, twelve celestial beings were born out of what was known as Primordial Light and Primordial Darkness. They were divided equally and, with the passing of time, developed their own unique identities, worlds, and powers.

The six Creation Gods born of Primordial Light were; Quhea 'Creator of Knowledge', God, Thyddor 'The Fighter', Dmitra 'Mother Nature', Tiarius 'GameMaster', Sedos 'Lightbringer'.

The Six Creation Gods born of Primordial Darkness were: Ventum Malum 'Gale Devourer', Zaarae 'Parasite Empress', Xyktia 'Assassin', Timos 'Savagery', Medtris 'Demon Queen'. Moriah 'Shadow Emperor'.

Albeit coming from similar sources of infinite power and energy, the Creation Gods weren't equal in strength. They had different personalities and each sought their own goals, whether it was creating the perfect race or uncovering the mysteries of existence itself.

The Shadow Emperor, Moriah; Unlike his 'kin', Moriah only had one title throughout his unshakable and long reign. Furthermore, his creations, which were scarce to begin with, were not diverse or particularly strong. Moriah was the creator of Shadow Magic, a peculiar type of magic that couldn't be learned or passed down to descendents. It was said that the power to manipulate shadows was granted to random individuals across the 7 Eras.

However, the real and frightening fact was that Shadow Magic was a more advanced technique than that of the parasite's racial ability. It allowed Moriah to ascend to the epitome of magical and physical power.

Simply put, Moriah, with the use of his Shadow Magic, was able to absorb any living being's potential, talent, strength, magic, and anything that contained tangible or intangible energy. However, it didn't just stop that; Shadow Magic rendered Moriah capable of literally stealing one's future accomplishment.

For instance, if he were to use his technique on a man that would eventually become a Sword Saint, Moriah would instantly become a Sword Saint.

There were no known restrictions or downsides to Shadow Magic. It was something that defied existence itself… something that the other Creation Gods tried to imitate but miserably failed.

Thus, just like that, Moriah ascended to become the strongest being in existence. He excelled in everything and didn't stop seeking the ultimate power.

When Ventus Malum had cut through the fabric of reality in an attempt to peek at what was 'outside', he had only let sinister forces slip into our cosmos. However, the Shadow Moriah had actually gone into the star-sized crimson rift and only returned after three centuries.

When the other Creation Gods went to ask him about his recent expedition, the Emperor kept his counsel, as was his wont.

The Shadow Moriah was a lone wolf, someone who refused to cooperate with others or join the petty squabbles of his peers. He nestled himself in his 'Shadow Dimension' and contented with creating what was later known as the Three Shadow Kings.

Most surprising of Moriah's life was his untimely and unexpected death. Many say that he had absorbed so much power that it eventually overwhelmed him, but I was offered a glimpse of the truth.

Formally the strongest living being, Moriah, was actually killed by the Nameless Knight during the Void Era.

The Shadow Emperor was the 2nd Creation God to die.

Out of the 11 Creation Gods, Moriah was on relatively friendly terms with God and Dmitra.

Moriah's humanoid form was that of a tall entity wearing a hooded black cloak that cast an impenetrable shadow that hid his face.

Xyktia 'Assassin': Progenitor of Black Magic, Blood Magic, and Necromancy, Xyktia was one of the few Creation Gods born of Primordial Darkness who hated her counterparts and repeatedly tried to eliminate them.

She was the ultimate assassin, the ultimate killing machine that had the ability to erase her traces and turn invisible in a way which no one, including Moriah, could sense.

Xyktia was an extremely secretive person that neither created a race of her own nor delved too much into the concept of creation. Instead, she sought to reanimate the fallen bodies of Gods and Titan with her Necromancy, then empowering them with Black Magic.

That way, right after the 1st Era, she managed to create a formidable Undead Army led by the Lich King Aborak.

During the Era of Beginning and the 1st Era, Xyktia tried many times to kill Thyddor, but all her attempts resulted in failure. Although she successfully inflicted heavy wounds to The Fighter, she wasn't good at direct confrontations and opted for escape after every failure.

Later on, as Thyddor grew stronger and stronger, she switched her target to Zeus, the strongest Titan to ever be born. She had failed in killing him on the first try, but, in the end, her army of undead, led by Aborak, were able to kill Zeus and half of the Titan Race.

This enraged Thyddor, who sought Sedos' help and attacked Xyktia's abode, known as the Underworld. At that time, Xyktia was wounded, but she managed to escape and slip into the crimson rift at the edge of the cosmos.

That was the last time Xyktia had been seen, which made everyone conclude that she died in that separate and dangerous dimension existing 'outside'.

Xyktia was on very good terms with Medtris and Timos.

Alternative titles: Cursed Blade, The Black Moon Goddess, Blood and Death.

Xyktia's humanoid form was that of a faceless woman with long white hair, a body made of blue and star-filled matter that seemed to store a universe within it. She had two skeletal masks on her head, one on the side and at the back.

Medtris 'Demon Queen': Creator of the Demon Race, Summoning Magic and Physiques. Medtris was inherently arrogant and prideful to a fault. She wanted to lead the six Creation Gods born of Primordial Darkness but she was never able to beat Moriah.

She hated the Shadow Emperor and his indifferent and uncooperative nature, but what made her vengeful was how he always spared her life during their fights, thus humiliating her even more.

However, despite losing to Moriah, the Demon Queen was one of the strongest Creation Gods. She was equal to Ventus Malum if not slightly stronger, but since the two were very close, it could never be determined which of them was stronger.

Medtris invented a peculiar and complex technique known as 'Physiques'. It was a unique way to empower one's body using Elemental Laws of different types. After the passing of the Void Era, she had even created and mastered the Void Physique.

Right after the appearance of the Nameless Knight, the Demon Queen had searched for him and wanted to eliminate this new threat, deeming the human as 'Unnatural Existence'. However, she was defeated in a single strike and lost her left leg and left arm.

When she was about to be killed by him, Quhea interfered and convinced the Nameless Knight to spare Medtris. Although her life was spared, the Demon Queen was forced to form a covenant with the human.

'To this day, Medtris, living in Hell, is still looking for a way to erase the covenant and exact revenge.'

Medtris was one of the first Creation Gods to create a Race, and though the Demon Race was riddled with imperfections, it was ultimately deemed superior to the once-supreme Titans.

The Seven Deadly Sins were Medtris' first creation and imparted a sliver of her essence.

Alternative titles: Ruler of Hell, Hell Fire Empress, The First Sin.

Medtris's humanoid form was that of a tall woman wearing a long red and black dress and demonic mask with two crimson horns.

Ventus Malum 'Gale Devourer': Creator of the Pixie Race, Wyvern Race, Empyrean Drake Race, Wind Essence and Laws, and Spatial Magic. Ventus had countless accomplishments, all of which were remarkably better than his peers'.

He was a sword-user, sacrificing half of his divine powers to create the ultimate sword: Makaze. The two were inseparable and Makaze was considered a part of the Gale Devourer.

However, that wasn't Ventus' most impressive accomplishment. In fact, he had actually created Wind essence and Wind Laws, which were supposed to be the byproduct of existence, forming right after the Creation Gods. This feat, unachievable by any other, granted Ventus absolute control over Wind and allowed him and, along with Makaze, allowed him to cut through the fabric of reality.

Just like Tiarius, Ventus was awfully curious about what laid 'outside', therefore, he cut through existence, consequently forming the Crimson Rift. Unbeknownst to him, that portal led to consequences of a cosmological scale.

Right after succeeding in his attempt, Ventus was weakened for a long time and secluded himself in the Spirit World. He had been spotted in Hell and the Divine Planet during the Void Era, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

Ventus' one and only form was that of slim and bony-looking man with shiny black skin, a pair of emerald pupils, and a withered-looking face.
