The night enveloped them in a serene embrace, the full moon casting its gentle glow through the windows of the Miyamoto house. Laughter and warmth filled the kitchen as Hero, Kel, and Sunny finished cooking together, their camaraderie palpable in the air. With dishes piled up, they gathered around the sink, ready to tackle the cleaning task as a team.
Hero's eyes sparkled with curiosity as he turned to Sunny, a playful smile dancing on his lips. "Sunny, forgive my sudden interest, but is Mari's piano still here? You know, in the music room on this floor?"
Sunny nodded silently, his gaze drifting momentarily to the window where the moonlight bathed the room in a soft, ethereal glow. Kel, busy scrubbing a plate, chimed in with curiosity, "Hero, what's got you intrigued about the piano all of a sudden?"
Hero would reply with a nostalgic twinkle in his eyes, his tone carrying a mix of fondness and longing. "Well, you know how much Mari loved playing the piano. It's been a while since I heard those melodies drifting through the house. I thought it might be nice to take a trip down memory lane, maybe play a tune or two if the piano is still in tune."
His words echoed a sentiment of cherishing memories and finding solace in familiar melodies, a subtle reminder of the bond they shared with Mari and the comfort her music brought to their lives
Sunny spoke reminiscing as well "Right I remember when you first heard my sister Played Hero…you wanted to impress her so you tried playing too—" Onward, Kel gasped as he finished washing his dishes to lightly punch Hero by the arm "Woah my brother!!! I remember Sunny telling me back in that day you embarrassed yourself she laughed when you played the tunes wrong or slow!!!"
Sunny chuckled at the memory, adding, "Yeah, you were determined, Hero. But I think Mari appreciated the effort more than the actual notes." He glanced at Hero with a teasing smile, recalling the lighthearted moments they shared in the past.
Hero laughed along with them, a hint of sheepishness in his expression. "Hey, I was just trying to make her smile. Even if it meant fumbling through the keys."
Their banter carried a warmth that spoke of old friendships and shared experiences, highlighting the playful camaraderie that had grown between them over the years.
Sunny sighs as they finish washing the dishes. He felt a scratch on his arms and neck brace again. As Hero patted Sunny's shoulder "Plus, right now we can 'try' to have that same feeling despite Mari fighting her struggles now" poetic tone.
Kel spoke "Right, Sunny do you need help replacing your bandages again if it itches? And do you wear your neck brace in your sleep?"
Sunny nodded appreciatively at Hero's words, acknowledging the sentiment behind them. "Thanks, Hero. And yeah, Kel, I might need some help with the bandages later. And yeah, I wear the neck brace even while sleeping. It's become a habit after all these years."
Kel nodded understandingly, ready to assist his friend with the bandages whenever needed. "No problem, Sunny. Just let us know when you need a hand."
Hero is aware that since Mari's coma for 4 years, Sunny had an injury to his neck (mild) at the same time. He brushed it off not to suspect the oddities as he spoke "Still. shall we prepare a way to sleepover now?" As Kel beams "Ohh how about we make a bed fort…Just as we used to as kids!!" Sunny asks with a skeptical gaze at Kel despite nighttime "It's not bad for us to act like that? But….we're not kids anymore right?"
Hero chuckled at Kel's suggestion, finding it nostalgic and comforting. "Why not, Kel? It'll be a fun change of pace. And Sunny, we might not be kids anymore, but it doesn't hurt to relive some childhood memories once in a while."
Kel nodded eagerly, already envisioning the makeshift bed fort. "Exactly! It'll be like a mini adventure right here at home."
Sunny smiled faintly, seeing their enthusiasm. "Alright, let's do it then. A bed fort sounds kinda nice, actually."
He then helps Hero and Kel look through the house's items for extra pillows , blankets and a mattress (foldable) used back in the unlit fireplace (living room of his house). As they set it up. Kel smiles "Ahh, Just as I remembered!!! Although I shall never forget I used to be shorter when we used to do this sort of sleepover right guys?"
Sunny chuckled as they arranged the blankets and pillows. "Yeah, you've grown quite a bit since then, Kel. But some things never change, like our love for these little adventures."
Hero nodded in agreement. "Exactly. It's nice to have these moments, especially with everything going on."
As they settled in, Kel grinned. "Hey, remember the ghost stories we used to tell in here?"
Sunny laughed, recalling their past antics. "Oh yeah, those were something else. Maybe we can come up with new stories tonight."
Hero joined in, adding, "And this time, let's make sure Sunny doesn't get too scared."
Sunny rolled his eyes playfully. "I'll be fine. It's all part of the fun."
Kel boop sunny's nose "You sure? You know despite recently you come out the house since yesterday….You do easily get surprise and scared—" As Hero nods with a mature concern. Then , Sunny awkwardly smile "Guess I tried…" then he begins unwrapping his bandages hesitantly "Hero , Kel and Basil probably seen these before…Assuming even Aubrey would understand if she see these closely…..I Uhh….had my own ways to cope…"
Sunny paused, trying to find the right words. "I... I've had some struggles, you know, dealing with everything. But I'm trying to work through it, especially with everyone's support."
Kel nodded understandingly. "Yeah, we know, Sunny. We've all had our challenges, and we're here for you."
Hero added reassuringly, "You don't have to explain it all now if it's difficult. Just know we're here to listen whenever you're ready."
Sunny smiled gratefully, feeling the weight lift a bit. "Thanks, guys. It means a lot."
Hero's words carried a mix of hope and concern. "Yeah, Sunny. We're all hoping for that day when everything can go back to how it was." He carefully assisted with the bandages, his touch gentle yet deliberate.
Kel chimed in, "And until then, we'll be here to support you every step of the way."
Sunny nodded, a faint smile forming. "Thanks, again. I appreciate it more than you know."
As they finally finish rewrapping new bandages with Sunny's arms. Kel lies down on his side of the sleepover (right) , Hero sits down to his (left) and Sunny crawls and tries to huddle since he feels their current sizes are different than before (middle). Sunny sighs "Hero, before we go to sleep…I am curious….when did Kel have a growth spurt with that height?"
Hero chuckled softly, adjusting himself to get comfortable. "Kel's growth spurt? Hmm, I think it was during our time two years ago. He just shot up out of nowhere!"
Kel added with a grin, "Yeah, I remember suddenly towering over everyone, including you, Sunny." winks to tease the recent reunion they had after 4 years of not meeting up.
Sunny smiled, feeling a bit nostalgic. "Wow, time flies, huh? It feels like just yesterday we were all kids playing together."
Hero nodded, a fond expression on his face. "Yeah, but some things never change. Like our bond and memories together."
Kel sighs "Although, I wonder if you can catch up!!! Yet Hero still insists he is still an inch taller than me—" playful pout.
Hero laughed, nudging Kel gently. "Awww...Come on, Kel, don't be jealous. We all know I'm taller by an inch!"
Sunny joined in the playful banter, "I think you're both tall enough! Besides, height doesn't matter when it comes to friendship."
Kel grinned, relaxing in the friendly atmosphere. "True, true. We're a great team no matter what."
With that, they settled into their makeshift bed fort, reminiscing about old times and looking forward to more shared moments ahead.
Hero sighs "Although, I guess Sunny's curious because…" As Sunny cuts him off saying "Because...It's just , back at the Lake this morning with Aubrey and Basil. When Kel and I tried talking to help. I realize being a shut-in made my body not strong enough to reach out to save Basil and myself…." while he reluctantly lay down by the middle
Hero nodded understandingly. "Ah, I see where you're coming from, Sunny. It's normal to have those thoughts after such an incident. But remember, you're doing your best now, and we're all here to support each other."
Kel chimed in, "Exactly! We're a team, and we'll work through everything together. Besides, you managed to get out and help, and that's what counts."
Sunny nodded, feeling reassured by his friends' words. "Thanks, guys. Let's get some rest and tackle tomorrow with renewed energy."
They nod, as Kel whispers "Psshh…Bet by tomorrow we can check out Mari's Piano for Hero….Plus, if I may ask bud. Where is your violin?"
Sunny smiles faintly. "Oh, it's in the music room too. I haven't played it in a while, but maybe someday soon." He then closes his eyes, ready to rest for the night.
They sigh, as Hero uttered, "Goodnight everyone…"
This time, we're back in white space. Omori is in a daze as he sighs in relief as the last thing he recalled in Headspace is unintentionally going to black space. Mewo is asleep this time as he pets the black cat. Before he stood up and sighed pondering to himself "I shall make sure that doesn't happen again—"
Omori's concern about not ending up in black space again reflects his awareness of the dangers and uncertainties within Headspace. His determination to avoid such situations shows his growing sense of responsibility and self-awareness in managing the complexities of his inner world.
As Omori cautiously opens the white door with his knife, he peeks inside to check on his dreamworld friends. The scene before him reveals familiar faces, each with their unique presence in the dream world. Kel, Aubrey, Basil, and Hero are gathered, and engaged in various activities that reflect their personalities and dynamics within the dreamworld. Despite the challenges and uncertainties, Omori finds comfort in seeing his friends still present and engaged in their dreamworld activities.
As Omori stepped inside and felt the embrace of his friends, he couldn't help but be surprised, even with his typically lifeless eyes and stoic expression. "Guys, what's the sudden hug for?" he asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
His dreamworld friends smiled warmly at him, their expressions filled with understanding and reassurance. Aubrey spoke first, her voice gentle yet filled with sincerity. "We just missed you, Omori. It's good to have you back."
Basil nodded in agreement, his usual calm demeanor radiating a sense of comfort. "Yes, we've been waiting for you. How are you feeling?"
Kel addressed him as Omori, his voice carrying a mix of concern and relief. "Omori, we missed you. Are you feeling alright?!!! What happened when you went away?!!!"
Hero added, his concern evident in his eyes. "You seem a bit off. Did something happen?"
As he sighs and reassures his friends as he hides his knife "Nothing, just vanish for a moment—" blinks and gazes at Basil "Basil, how's your Photo Album?" Dreamworld Basil fixed his floral straw hat and got confused "Hmm? What? Why ask? This is too sudden Omori when you just came back…"
Omori nods, trying to brush off the concern in Basil's voice. "Just curious, that's all. Let's focus on something else. How about we explore the vast fields beyond the stump1 today?"
They got excited. Even Basil gently smiled at Omori. While Omori listens to his other 3 dreamworld friends' reactions he says with concern "Yet, where's Mari? Last time I recall we had a picnic with her…."
The friends got concerned when Omori quickly moved ahead of them leaving the stump when they didn't answer his question yet. As Dreamworld Basil reaches out Omori's hand first "Wait a moment Omori!!! You haven't even let us tell you where she is currently…."
Kel, Aubrey, and Hero catch up to Omori and Basil, expressing their reassurances and curiosity about Mari's whereabouts.
Kel: "Omori, slow down a bit! We're all here, and we'll find Mari together."
Aubrey: "Yeah, don't worry so much. Mari is probably just around the corner or in another part of Headspace."
Hero: "Basil's right. Let's take a moment and figure out where Mari might be before rushing ahead."
As Basil let go of Omori's hand "Do none of you know where she is?"
In the dream world, Omori sighs apologetically and addresses Basil's question about Mari's whereabouts.
Omori: "I'm sorry for rushing like that. It's just that I'm worried about Mari. Does anyone here know where she might be?"
As they walk through the pinwheel forest, the dreamworld friends respond to Omori's concern about Mari's whereabouts.
Kel: "Don't worry, Omori. We're here to help you find her."
Aubrey: "Yeah, Mari could be exploring somewhere nearby."
Hero: "Or maybe she's with Mewo, enjoying some quiet time."
Basil: "Let's search together, Omori. We'll find her soon."
Omori sighs , and then he suddenly spots a keyboard piece once more as his friends are busy looking for her.
He suddenly turned and noticed the park of this forest as he said "Ohh….She's near the Picnic Basket napping? That's unusual"
Omori's observation about Mari being near the Picnic Basket napping catches his friends' attention.
Kel: "Napping? That's unlike Mari. Let's go check on her."
Aubrey: "Maybe she just needed some rest."
Hero: "We should make sure she's alright."
Basil: "Lead the way, Omori."
He nods, as he leads the way they scoot close to Mark (he feels nervous due to faint memories of black space) Before when he nudges her.
She stirred awake with a smile "Ohh hey everyone!!!! Sorry, I suddenly just need a nap while waiting for you guys to come around to leave the stump. I guess I got too excited for our first adventure as the entire group together!!!"
As Omori dilates his eyes a moment "You remember how we can decided the additional weapons used by you and Basil—" Leans on Mari's shoulder "And then the new Switch tag method?"
Omori's sudden mention of additional weapons and a new Switch tag method hints at a deeper layer of their interactions in Headspace.
Kel nods enthusiastically: "Yeah, we were discussing some cool upgrades!"
Aubrey smiles warmly: "It's always fun brainstorming ideas together."
Hero chuckles: "I can't wait to see what we come up with next."
Basil nods in agreement: "We always have the best adventures together, don't we?"
Mari smiles fondly at Omori's excitement and head pats him gently. "You're always full of great ideas, Omori. I'm looking forward to seeing what creative strategies we can come up with together." She then glances at her other friends with a cheerful expression. "It's good to have everyone here. Let's make this adventure memorable!"
Omori thought ( close enough) As Mari spoke "So Omori, who would be the first party you want to assemble a TAG? Since you're the one usually leading a 4 party system. With Hero, Kel, and Aubrey while me and Basil always stand—" As Kel excitedly said with his beachball "How about I volunteer to switch tag with someone first? It's different from the usual tag right Omori?"
Omori nods thoughtfully, considering Kel's suggestion. "That's a great idea, Kel. We can switch up the tag dynamics to keep things interesting." He then looks around at his friends with a smile. "Let's have a fun and exciting adventure together, everyone!"
They cheered. As dreamworld Kel tap on Basil as he calls out "Switch!!!" As Omori notices only he sees the idyllic rpg style On his face that says - Kel SWITCH tag Basil. Basil is now part of your party. Kel is on standby with Mari. As he turns to Aubrey and Hero to say "So, anyone else that wants to switch with Mari? Or Mari is okay being back up?"
In response to Omori's question, Aubrey steps forward with a determined expression. "I'll switch with Mari," she declares, her eyes gleaming with excitement for the adventure ahead.
Mari held Aubrey's hand as they both giggled "Okay Aubrey!!! Tag me!!! I mean SWITCH tag me—" she exclaimed with a wink.
Aubrey and Mari share a playful moment as Aubrey switches places with Mari. Omori observes the change, feeling the dynamics of the party shift with each new arrangement.
Omori felt another surreal RPG narrative. It says - Aubrey SWITCH tag Mari. Mari joins the party. Aubrey is also on standby. Before Omori sighs with a small smile "Well guess only me and Hero didn't try to do that…yet the SWITCH tag—"
Hero spoke "Either way Omori, this new tag method is fun!!! This way everyone can take turns on this 4-party play for every adventure!!!"
Kel and Aubrey nodded as they lent the picnic basket to Mari as this is her storage item (multipurpose weapon) then Basil debated which is his weapon/item to use as he turned to Omori "Should I use my Photo Album and camera or SHEARS as a weapon?"
Omori murmured "Basil whichever suits you? Even a watering can can be your item for our adventures…"
Omori starts by contemplating each item's potential use:
Shears: "The shears could be versatile for cutting through obstacles or creating makeshift traps. They're practical and can be used in various scenarios."
Photo Album: "The photo album could serve as a source of inspiration or a way to reminisce and boost morale during tough times. It could also be a tool for learning about our past adventures."
Camera: "The camera could be handy for scouting ahead, documenting our journey, or even distracting enemies with flashes. It adds a strategic element to our team."
After presenting these options, Omori gestures to Basil to choose what suits him best for their adventures.
Dreamworld Basil takes a moment to ponder and then replies, "I think I'll go with the shears. They seem practical and versatile like you said. Plus, they can be useful in both combat and exploration situations."
Omori nods in agreement, acknowledging Basil's choice and the potential benefits it brings to their team's capabilities.
Mari and Hero smiled. As Mari joked "Aww Omori you're just as clever as me!!! It's always sweet how you and Basil almost share the purpose of your weapons…" As Omori head-tilts confused "Really Mari? Even though my Knife is frankly less versatile than Basil's shears were?"
Mari giggles at Omori's confusion and explains, "Oh, Omori, it's not just about the physical versatility of the weapons. It's about how you both use them creatively and adapt them to different situations. Your knife may seem straightforward, but I've seen you use it in ways that surprise us all!"
Hero chimes in with a smile, "Exactly! It's not just about the tool; it's about the person wielding it and their ingenuity."
Omori nods, understanding their point, and smiles back at his friends, appreciating their insight.
Then, Aubrey and Kel nodded. As Kel said "Hey even my Beachball is flexible Omori!!! And you don't seem to mind!!!" As Aubrey beams "My Umbrella is also flexible too!!!" As Hero twirls his cooking pan "Mine too!!! Although I use this for cooking to heal us!!!" Mari and Basil nodded. As Omori leads the way of his current party to say "First let's use our clams to buy some needed other extra items okay? Life jams…some other snacks and items to distract our possible enemies."
The group ventures to the mysterious mailbox that sells items, where they can exchange their clams for various useful supplies. Omori takes the lead, suggesting they stock up on life jams, snacks, and other distraction items to prepare for potential encounters with enemies. His friends eagerly agree and follow his lead as they browse through the offerings of the mysterious mailbox.
As they finally used up some clams. Basil sighs "At least we save up next time we earn more for our adventures again—" The rest nodded. Until Omori pulls out his Dreamworld map to recap the locations they could possibly go.
Omori gathers his friends around and unfolds his Dreamworld map to recap the various locations they could explore in Headspace/Dreamworld. He points out key areas like the Vast Forest, which includes the Pinwheel Forest as a sub-area known for its colorful pinwheels and enchanting atmosphere. He also mentions the Otherworld, a mysterious and potentially dangerous location, the Pyrefly Forest where their treehouse is located, and the Playground (Park), a recreational area with various activities and surprises. Omori suggests they start by exploring the Pinwheel Forest within the Vast Forest to gather more resources and experience before venturing into the other areas. His friends agree, and they set off on their adventure, ready to face whatever challenges await them in their dreamworld journey.
Mari then points out "After that, maybe we can also try the lake when you climb downward that leads to UNDERWATER highway—" As Hero sighs "Yes Mari but didn't you just let Omori be the usual leader again? Either way" he smiles and kiss her cheek "It's not a bad idea yet I think it's best we venture Pinwheel then Otherworld I am curious as we barely heard about Space boyfriend lately…" As Aubrey gasp "Right!!! Is he still with Sweetheart or not?" As Kel says "We'll check it out right Omori?"
Omori nods in agreement with his friends' suggestions. He assures them that they will explore all the locations they mentioned, including the lake and the underwater highway. Omori acknowledges Hero's curiosity about Space's Boyfriend and Sweetheart, expressing his interest in learning more about their current situation.
As they discuss their plans, Omori feels a sense of responsibility and determination to lead the group through their dreamworld adventures. He looks at his friends with a smile and says, "Let's go step by step, starting with the Pinwheel Forest. We'll uncover new mysteries and face exciting challenges together!" The group nods in agreement, ready to embark on their journey and discover what awaits them in the dream world.
The group progresses through the Pinwheel Forest, encountering various enemies along the way. Aubrey and Kel cheer on Mari and Basil as they adapt to their roles in the adventure, aiding the party. Hero provides healing support whenever someone gets injured, ensuring the group stays in good condition.
Omori takes on the role of dealing the final blows to enemies, showcasing his combat skills and leadership within the party. The montage highlights their teamwork and how each member contributes to overcoming challenges in the dream world.
