It was evening. The crowd had already left in high spirits. They had gotten to witness a monstrous battle. But not only that, the next day another battle was to occur and the people were sure that it would be epic.
In the infirmary, five figures could be spotted in the room. Matyr lay on the bed as she was being treated by the nurse. Her arm was slowly regenerating.
Aiden, Matyr's attendant, was at the door in case she needed anything. He also acted as her bodyguard. Most people would be unimpressed by him at first sight, but he ranked in the top ten amongst the first years. No normal cultivator could get past him.
Lenin, Aina and Brian stood at the left side of Matyr's bed as she was being treated.
"Why did you choose me?" Lenin said with a stoic expression. He was shocked when Matyr had given him her quota.
Matyr chuckled.
"Tch. Do you really want me to say it out loud?" She said with obvious irritation.
Lenin frowned.
"I'm serious"
Matyr sighed.
"Sigh. We all know I should not have won that battle. I don't know what happens at that moment, but even I could tell that I had lost. If anyone has a chance to defeat that bastard, it is you!"
"I see"
"But let me won you. Lanvris is more powerful than he portrayed himself to be. He barely used any of his power at all" Matyr added.
Matyr begun to tell Lenin all she knew about Lanvris' power.
Aina, who had stayed quiet throughout the conversation finally spoke up.
"Don't do it" she said.
The others turned and looked at her.
"By my calculations, you have less than a thirty percent chance to win against a monster like that. Even with your cultivation base fully released, it would be difficult"
Lenin snickered.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Lenin! This is not the tim-" Aina stopped halfway. She looked at Lenin intensely, shook her head and left. Brian ran after her.
Matyr watched as Aina and Brian left.
"What's wrong with her? Did you offend her?"
"Haahh... I think so? I just don't get it. Its not like I'll die in if I lose!"
Matyr gave a light laugh.
"It seems you are too dense to understand the heart of a girl" Matyr mumbled.
"What did you say?" Lenin asked curiously.
"Ah! Nothing. What are you still doing here? Should you not be preparing for the battle?"
"Me? Prepare? Hah. Funny"
Matyr's anger begun to boil.
"You could barely even win against me, and you believe you have a chance against Lanvris? You really can't see mount tai!"
'Well, that's not necessarily right. With my qi alone, I could have decimated you with Divinely Forged Muscles. If push comes to shelf, I can always inject a minor bit of my god force to increase the destructive power!' Lenin thought in his head.
"You should leave. Matyr needs her rest, and you have a battle tomorrow." The beautiful nurse said.
Lenin nodded. He said his goodbyes and made his way to his house.
.........
In a barely standing house, candles were lit to brighten the room. A girl was in the kitchen dutifully washing the dishes. They had just eaten dinner.
"I am sorry for making you do the dishes Trisha"
"Mom! What are you saying?! Go and rest, I'll handle the chores."
"Thank you."
"Geez mom." Trisha said with a pout.
Freda Heartfield made her way to her bedroom. She entered the room and closed the door behind her. She turned around and faced the door. She lifted her hand slightly and begun to mumble something.
"Mrkrkdk Kemdkdj Kenrkd Msmdm!"
She mumbled unknown words that seemed powerful and ancient. Her white hair floated slightly as her eyes turned an eerie red. A devastatingly red aura exuded slightly from her. It was barely visible.
After a while she finished the incantation. Her hair fell back.
'This is good enough. Nothing goes in or out of this room!'
She then walked towards her dressing mirror. She sat down on a chair and pulled a drawer. A small box lay inside.
'It seems our peace is coming to an end. I can no longer restrain Lenin's fate.'
She sighed.
'If only my powers were not sealed. I could have easily changed his fate. As I am now, I can barely fully restrain the destiny of a genius not to talk of a being like my son!'
She looked out the window and stared at the moon.
'They will find out soon and they will come for us!'
.......
The sun shined brightly announcing a new day. It was finally the last day of the ranking tournament. The people of freedom country were excited. Not necessarily because of the match, but because they would finally see the people who would be representing their country in the battle of the youths which would take place at the central continent.
As usual, the arena was packed. Many people had come to watch the final fight. Time was not wasted on formalities.
As soon as everything was prepared and ready, Princess Swallow-heaven called the contestants.
'This time I dragged the boy here myself. He should not even dream of delaying again!'
Princess Swallow-heaven thought angrily as she thought about the stunt Lanvris had pulled the previous day.
"Contestants come forth!" She said loudly.
From the common area, Lenin came on stage full of confidence. The crowd cheered for the number 3.
On the other side of the arena, a strong wind current blew. A calm looking youth approached with a carefree aura.
Lanvris looked at Lenin as he walked to the stage. His eyes slightly opened.
"Interesting!"
