The Warrior, Mage, and Priest

Xiao Yu led the three Black Rock Orc brothers to patrol the surroundings as Killer Codename 38, Fearless, and their Goblins got to work. There were many advantages to patrolling. Firstly, he could ensure that the lumbering Goblin Slaves were hard at work. Secondly, he could use this chance to level up.

Mode advancement for monsters was based on their reputation, while leveling up was due to EXP. Reputation was reliant on luck, but EXP could be easily gained by farming monsters.

There were countless monsters in Night Whisper Forest.

The three Black Rock Orcs served as durable shields, making it so monsters could not venture anywhere near Xiao Yu. He was also satisfied with Flame Missile's magnitude as his Spell Power allowed him to manifest five to seven flame missiles in one go. Every missile was capable of dealing an average of 12 damage points (with a 20% increase in damage), so a round of missiles would add up to almost 100 points of damage. Monsters with low HP might get instakilled, while those with more would get destroyed after several rounds.

Xiao Yu's Secondary Healing Spell proved to be useful—it made it so that it was not a big issue when the Orc bodyguards got injured. After farming a few hundred monsters throughout the morning, Xiao Yu finally reached level 10.

Compared to his first attempt at Monster Mode, where he died at the rate of once per two monsters, he was leveling up at lightning speed.

While Xiao Yu was patrolling, a message popped up in his chat room.

Fearless (Goblin Fighter): "Boss, something's wrong. Some Adventurers are coming close to the campsite."

Adventurers! After yesterday's incident, Xiao Yu was easily spooked by Adventurers, so his reflex was to flee.

This was the classical Warrior, Mage, and Priest combination. Xiao Yu eyed the three level 9 Black Rock Orcs beside him and felt like they had a fighting chance. Furthermore, it was possible to get revived after being killed by Adventurers, and that put Xiao Yu at ease.

Xiao Yu led the three Black Rock Orc brothers towards the lumbering area and spotted the three Adventurers from afar. Their team was made up of a bald human Warrior called Supreme Sword, a female human Priest called Weiwei Soy Milk, and a female human Mage called Purple Toffee.

The monsters around the campsite were automatically respawned by the system free of charge. Technically, they were the campsite Goblins; however, Xiao Yu did not have control over them. They would greet him as "Chief" and their names were green, an indication that they belonged to the same force. However, they would not react to Xiao Yu's commands. Actually, there would always be such supplementary monsters aoround Monster Force sites; their main purpose was to help Adventurers level up. Usually, Adventurers on the same level would not dare to venture into such sites, but the incident yesterday was an anomaly. Normally, they would only slay the surrounding monsters.

Xiao Yu might not have interfered on a normal day; however, he was not going to let it go today. He had a deadline to meet and resources to gather. Since these guys were in the line of the fire, prepare to die.

Xiao Yu pondered and led the three Black Rock Orc brothers towards the Adventurers.

"Eh, look there." The human Warrior was very observant and spotted the Goblin and Orcs at once.

"Damn, a golden avatar, it's a Boss. Great, activate the Buffs, let's attack."

The Mage was cautious. "Will this be dangerous?"

"What are you afraid of? You can summon the water element's Double Ice Rings to freeze the lackeys while we gang up on the Boss."

"Alright, that's the plan. Go attract the monsters' attention," the Mage said. Then the three of them got into a line formation. The Warrior stood at the front, followed by the Mage, and, lastly, the Priest.

Xiao Yu snorted to himself. Were they planning to let the Warrior charge and taunt and then follow up with the Mage's Ice Rings? Did they really think that he could not understand human language? These guys had to be newbies, seeing how they were discussing their strategies in front of the enemy. They were probably not familiar with this game's mechanics. Didn't they know that it was possible for players to play as wild monsters?

He lowered his voice and instructed the three orcs, "The three of you go your separate ways and surround them from both sides. Concentrate your attacks on the Priest, leave the Mage and Warrior to me. You guys only have to handle the Priest. Do you understand?"

The three Orcs exchanged glances and nodded uniformly before going to either side.

"Eh, why did the monsters separate? Where are they going?" Purple Toffee, the Mage, asked with surprise laced in her voice.

The Warrior, Supreme Sword, was unabashed as he said, "Isn't that better for us? We only have to deal with the Boss. Okay, I am going to attack. Soya, be on alert."

After saying his piece, he bolted towards the Goblin Boss before realizing that something was off. The Goblin stopped a distance away and began chanting.

Eric (Goblin Flame Warlock) chanted, "In my name, Eric, I summon you, the spirit from the Elemental World. Show yourself, Fire Element!"

A crimson red magic formation circle rose from the ground and a Fire Element the height of a man was summoned from the circle.

Supreme Sword said, "What the f*ck? What's going on? It can trigger the battle from that distance?"

While he was in a daze, the Goblin Boss pointed his staff at him.

Flame Missile. Five missiles manifested around Xiao Yu and blasted towards Supreme Sword when Xiao Yu waved his hand.

"Damn it! I was noticed! This is so scary."

He raised his shield hastily. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom! A series of explosions occurred when the five missiles were all blocked. However, the series of attacks had still managed to deal 20 plus points of damage.

System prompt message: You have dealt 72 points of Fire Damage to Supreme Sword. 49 points were blocked, 23 points were effective damage.

Xiao Yu sighed when he realized that the damage dealt was so little. It was to be expected as the game was programmed to be as realistic as possible. Hence, blocking or even dodging fire missiles and ice arrows was highly likely.

Supreme Sword was still in a state of shock. If his block had been slower, half of his 168 HP would've been gone. A good one-sixth was gone now.

No, he could not hesitate any longer! He gritted his teeth in determination and bolted towards Xiao Yu as he slashed his sword straight down.
