38 Chapter 39 - Is that you?

Deep in the night, Ryuu and Mitsuri were leaping on the rooftop with tremendous speed blinking through the whole town. They were barely noticeable despite the busy street below.
Ryuu had already found the location where the demons were residing thanks to his [ Byakugan ] that proved more useful than expected.
The reason being is having read countless fanfic that only gave the character the [ Sharingan ] which gives a lot of ability if it advances but there are many annoying drawbacks with the ability.
Even if he acquired the Doujutsu and used points to remove the weakness would prove troublesome. Ryuu enjoyed what he had and used it to the fullest.
"We're almost there!"
Mitsuri nodded, tightened her grip of her sword and even if she was skilled enough it was better to be prepared. Ryuu doubts that she would be any harm considering Mitsuri was a Hashira and killed her own.
Still he felt worried about her safety, pondering if she had grown important to him but shook his head as it was too early to assume things like Shinobu.
"Be careful, we don't know what kind of [ Blood Demon Arts ] they may have."
"A-Alright, Ryuu-san. I'll keep that in mind, Thank you."
"Once this is done, let's buy some Sakura Mochi later."
"What!!? Really!??"
"Shhhh quiet, we don't want people to notice us but yeah, you muttered something like that earlier."
Mitsuri hides her face in embarrassment since she's been trying to stop eating them after her hair started to change color but after spending time with Ryuu who always complimented her hair started to feel more confident in herself.
Ryuu yet again wasn't trying to flirt and genuinely thought it was beautiful giving her a cute and alluring beauty. Despite the unusual color that would appear cringy in his world, it somehow works for Mitsuri.
"Hahaha no need to feel embarrassed, I haven't eaten one before so I'm a bit interested in how it taste."
This is the first time that he experienced the outside world of Demon Slayer and hadn't tasted other Japanese cuisine before. The only thing he ate was pork and Chicken Katsu along with Tempura and some herbal tea.
Ryuu found a new favorite food in the form of Katsu and planned to explore modern Japan in the future.
"It tastes really good!!"
Mitsuri joyfully exclaims trying to be quiet but shows her excitement to let him have taste. Ryuu only knew about mochi as it's a sticky type of sweet. He had similar food in the Phillipines called Palitaw but couldn't compare it without trying.
"Now I'm interested. For now, let's focus on the task at hand."
Ryuu draws his weapon ready himself as they soon find themselves in an abandoned mansion on a quiet street. He could smell the sweet aroma of human blood around the place.
It made him thirsty wanting to drink some but more importantly he was drawn to the smell of demons. This was the first time he would encounter a demon and wonder how their blood would taste.
'I hope I can get their Blood Demon Art.'
Ryuu thought of the possibility and acquired the numerous abilities that a Demon could have but knowing there's always a catch in such ability lowered his hope just in case.
He used his [ Byakugan ] to pinpoint the location and see how many were inside. Ryuu soon finds multiple humans and one that shimmers in malicious energy that causes him to feel more thirsty.
'The hell!? I'm not even a vampire. Why am I acting this way?? Is it the system?? Fuck whatever it is might as well.'
Ryuu is still confused at how strange his body and the Chat group system function are. He decided to let go of having [ Dragon Slayer magic ] and wait for his other magic to come in order to see if they could be fused together.
It was unusual that the system almost gave him dragon slayer magic when he only drank human's blood. Ryuu shook his head and focused on how to enter the place without being detected.
"The Demon is in the underground with around 5 humans who seem chained up, barely alive."
Mitsuri nodded without question how he knew where the demon was since she is an air at times. They swiftly headed inside trying to find how to descend underground.
Ryuu easily found it thanks to his [ Byakugan ] and the two quickly descended into the underground where they were greeted by a demon with three large compound eyes that had the number 2 at the third eye in it's forehead and four arms that were covered in carapace. They were also a long scorpion-like tail attached to its tail bone.
"Who are you and dared to come to my feeding ground!!?"
As it was about to devour a woman yelled out looking at them in killing intent. He took deep breaths, taking a firm stance preparing to attack and spun his weapon to create momentum before extending his weapon that made the demons only stand still, expecting it to flung by its thick carapace body.
Unfortunately, pierce the demons in the chest causing it to cough out blood and was pulled by Ryuu towards his direction before using his other to blade it to pieces but its limbs and tail deflected his every attack.
"Mitsuri, focus on protecting the human girls while I deal with this guy!"
"Hai! Be careful."
Ryuu nodded before focusing his attention towards the Demon who pulled the dagger out of its chest and before it could anything was hit by a powerful kick to the head and sending It into the wall.
The space was large enough to be an enormous room and was the perfect place to fight.
"A demon slayer!? I'll be damned if I let you behead me!!"
"Then come and dance!"
They soon started a fierce battle with Ryuu using his weapon to deflect every attack and was careful to not sting by its tail.
'His blood tastes better than human...is it because they're stronger? I wonder what that Salamengkero's blood tastes like?'
He dazely thought while fighting the Lower Moon demon with ease. Ryuu was taking samples of its blood and enjoyed a few drops of it.
"Damn you! Why won't you die!!"
"Too bad for you our dance is about to be over soon."
Ryuu took a deep breath once more that made the Lower Moon demon step back before his body was enveloped by agonizing pain.
"Third form - War Slash."
He performed a multitude of slashes that cleave every part of its body destroying it's carapaces and behead. The Lower Moon doesn't even know what killed him.
"Whoa! You finish that Lower Moon Demon like it was nothing! Amazing!!"
Mitsuri screamed out who was watching along with the woman who was unchained by Ryuu. He turned to look at them with a friendly smile and felt like it was too much of a flex when he could easily end the fight but decided not to and helped him gauge himself.
He was unable to gain the [ blood demon art ] but it made him a lot stronger than before and decided to continue his experiment.
After a while, they sent the victims to the authority and told a story that was believable enough. Once that was done, Ryuu and Mitsuri decided to explore the city.
"Here, I bought a lot since we will be going back."
Ryuu passed a box of Mochi with a few flavors from Green to her favorite Sakura Mochi. Mitsuru happily eats her food while they roam the streets.
"How much for this?"
He spotted a jewelry store where they displayed numerous interesting trinkets and decided to buy a hair pin stick that had the shape of a butterfly while another had an elegant flower shape. Ryuu nodded before returning back to Mitsuri sitting at a table.
"Mitsuri-san, I hope you also like this."
She cutely looked at him with her face stuffed with mochi when Ryuu placed the hairpin into her hair that made her blush touching the gift from him.
"What is it, Ryuu-san?"
"It's a Hairpin stick and I thought it might look great on you. I've also bought one for Shinobu."
"Oh t-thank you, Ryuu-san."
Mitsuri stuttered before giving a bright smile that warms Ryuu's heart afterwards the two ate dinner and bought some more souvenirs.

They walk their way back to the Demon Slayer corp with Mitsuri looking at Ryuu with concern and curiously as he was holding bento boxes and a bag behind his back without a problem but what got her curious was completely different.
"Do you know how to use that, Ryuu-san?"
"It's been a while but my Father always taught me how to use one when we were younger. Do you want to hear my play?"
"Y-Yes, if you don't mind?"
"Of course but don't get your hopes up since it's been a while since I've played it."
Ryuu held a bamboo flute that he bought from a vendor and decided to try playing a little song. He placed the flute into his lips and soon a soothing sound could be heard that seemed to heal their fatigue.
Mitsuri was taken aback by how well he was playing the flute as if it had a story contained within them. Ryuu was surprised that he was still able to play some music and used it to make their journey more entertaining.
After a few minutes, Ryuu ended his performance turn to see Mitsuri glistening eyes amaze by his musical talent. Though it was hardly a professional type of play, it was still impressive nonetheless.
"What do you think?"
"Sugoi!! It was amazing, Ryuu-san!! I never knew you had such talent before!?"
"I'm glad you like it."
Ryuu gave a wide smile, enjoying her blissful action beckoning him to play more music for her. He did as told and continued their journey until they spent a whole two weeks of travel back.
It did allow them to know about each and grow fond. Ryuu shared his life with her, speaking about where he grew up and how vast the world is. She listened in wonder like a little girl hearing fairy tales.
Furthermore, he shared stories from his world that grew her more to Ryuu. The day before they arrive at the Demon Slayer Corp. He decided to go to the [ Gacha ] to see if there's any interesting items since the majority he acquireds for the past week we're chunk.
'Hope something interesting.'
He glances toward Mitsuri who was sleeping in their tent while Ryuu remained awake to watch if there were any Wild animals or demons. Ryuu spun the [ Gacha ] using the 4 normal ticket that he hadn't used.

Ryuu was a bit surprised that he acquired useful items namely the [ Dimensional Training Room ] for his future plans while the [ Revival Stone ] could be used to resurrect Kanae back to life.
He wanted to revive his brother but knowing his world is more complicated than how it presents itself was better to gather information first.
Ryuu didn't want to revive his brother and suddenly out of nowhere problems ensued. Furthermore, his intuition was the best ability he had that always gave him the right choices.
'Let see their descriptions first.'
[ Status Effect Resistances ]
[ Description: Status Effect Resistance is a skill that provides resistance against not only poison, illnesses, and curses, but also fatigue, stress, sleep, hunger, asphyxia, pain and any other condition that causes the skill's owner to not be in peak form. However, it does not provide resistance to the effects of having expended too much Mana or wounds caused by taking damage. Those with a high level in this skill can always be in peak form despite any negative effects they may be under. However, it does not nullify the negative effects, so there is a limit to this skill's effect. ]
[ Dimensional Training Room ]
[ Description: This Dimensional Training Room provided a football field size training room. The owner of the room could bring how many people they wanted with only the rule that they were brought by the owner or given permission by the owner. It is time diluted in 1:7 days which is 1 day equal to a week. ]
[ 1x Change appearance ticket ]
[ Description: Able to change someone's appearances and those that previously knew the person wouldn't be able to recognize them. They can switch between their original and new appearance but won't be able to change it into a new one. ]
[ Revival Stone ]
[ Description: A stone that is capable of reviving in the land of the living with those that had long dead bringing them to the peak condition. ]
Ryuu was shocked to see the description of the items. The [ Status Effect Resistances ] was simple but useful for training and fighting while [ Dimensional Training Room ] didn't hold any drawbacks which is amazing.
It would allow him to grow stronger and much faster than before. Ryuu already planned on finding the Kamado house and saved them from their impending doom.
Ryuu smiled looking at the [ Revival Stone ] that would make Shinobu extremely delighted. The [ change appearance ticket ] was convenient considering it was impossible to explain to someone who was supposed to be dead come back to life.
The next day, the two went and reported their mission to Ubayashiki who was ecstatic after finding out that Ryuu defeated a Lower Moon demon.
"Then I must thank you two for accomplishing your task and returning safely. I would have proposed a celebration but everyone is busy therefore I hope you don't mind."
"It's fine, we should celebrate once everything is over. For now, I would like to excuse myself and see Shinobu."
Kagaya agreed and let them rest as their journey would have been exhausting. Ryuu had been appointed as the [ Plague Hashira ] which he didn't care much about as he only did it for the reward.
"Then I'll see you later, Mitsuri."
"See you later, Ryuu-san."
The two departed, Ryuu went to the Butterfly Mansion deciding to check his mission reward later as there was something more important.
He was welcomed by the children and Aoi who relieve seeing since he's been an older brother to her and didn't like seeing people die.
"Hmmm, where's Shinobu-san?"
"She's at her workshop making new poison. What about you? How was your Hunt for the Demon."
Ryuu told them his journey while heading his way where Shinobu was and soon found her busy making poison when she heard the sliding door open. She turn to see him arrive and quickly got closer before embracing him tightly.
"Welcome back, Ryuu-kun."
"I'm back, Shinobu-san."
He smiled before feeling his lips was being kissed by Shinobu who made her freeze from the unexpected action and look at her who only giggled at his reaction and made him blush.
"I felt lonely while you're gone. How did your mission go?"
"Uhmmm, first of all, sorry. And about my mission then it's been entertaining to say the least and Mitsuri has been an enjoyable companion."
"Is that so? Is she going to be your third lover?"
Ryuu paused for a moment looking at Shinobu weirdly and how she was on board the harem thing.
"Wait what!? I think you're getting ahead of yourself, Shinobu-san."
"But I'm not wrong, Correct?"
"E-Eh...well….yeah, you're right. But why third?"
She grew even more, getting the answer she needed much to Ryuu's dismay. He sighed in defeat looking at her before smiling.
"Well, the other girl you like. What was her name? Justine?? I would like to meet her soon."
"Yeah, of course you will but for now I am surprised. Bring to where you buried your sister."
Shinobu paused hearing his words having instantly guessed what he was intended to do and looked at him in shock while receiving a tender gaze.
"W-Wait...a-are you…"
"Yes, I have found a way to revive your sister. Just take me where she is buried."
Ryuu saw her starting to tear up and held her cheek to remove the teardrop while Shinobu held his hand enjoying the warmth.
After she calmed down a bit took him to the area where Kanae was buried and Ryuu used his [ Byakugan ] to see how deep the ground where she was buried was.
There no one close to see what he was about to do quickly molded blood clones and split his mind to start digging the ground. He looked at Shinobu who was trembling both in excitement and guilt that Ryuu went and reported the embrace to calm her down.
"I've said it many times before but thank you everything, Ryuu-kun."
"No, I'll do this even if you don't thank me."
"Then can I repay you for becoming your lover?"
Ryuu fell silent looking at her silently, never expecting that it only took him a few months to leave an imprint on her. He smiled before giving a passionate kiss who accepted it wholeheartedly.
"Then I'll make sure you will be on my journey till the end. Now then get yourself ready."
Soon he could see bones and felt Shinobu quiver for a brief moment before he stepped forward and took a small stone. Ryuu stone before the corpse that soon tremble and glow in brightlight and hover in the hair along with the bones that soon form muscle and skins.
It lasted for a few seconds before a young gorgeous woman that had slender legs and curvaceous body along creamy white skin and glossy red lips. She had long black hair hair and soon took her first breath as she slowly opened her eyes looking confused and saw Shinobu who was trembling.
"Shinobu?"
"O-Onee-san!"
