Lesson Three - Part 2

Days passed by and I've already become some sort of star attraction in the Wilde Tavern until it became more of a restaurant rather than a drinking place for people to get extremely intoxicated to the point of either unconsciousness or stupidity.

Cecilia's been thankful for my presence and even Ilya's become attached to me. Diago, as I have discovered, is really more of a grumpy old father rather than a snobby old fart. Lyonel, on the other hand, is now acting like a jealous lover because Wex is trying to flirt with me at every chance he could get. Unfortunately, Diago prevents him from ever leaving the kitchen during work hours.

"Aren't your superiors looking for you? You've been spending most of your days here." Cecilia laughs at Lyonel as she drank her third pint of beer.

I could hear them talking even though I'm on the other side of the Tavern. Cecilia's voice isn't really that hard to overhear because of how loud and emphasized each of her words are. I took some orders from three different tables before I hear Lyonel answer her in an almost whispered voice.

"I'm just worried about her." He says, earning another hearty laugh from Cecilia.

"You're such a virgin! Just ask her out!" Cecilia smacks Lyonel's back, making his iron armor making a loud clanging sound.

If Lyonel only had the courage to officially ask me out, of course I would accept. He is, after all, an important tool for me to blend in with their society. I could also use our time alone to gain more information about people in the castle, especially about their king and Cassandra's son, Clima.

With the information that I've gathered so far, I've learned from the passing knights and common people here in the Tavern that Clima is considered the strongest person in the entire kingdom, thus the reason why he'll forever be the Captain of the Royal Guards. He lives in the castle and would only go outside to visit his mother in her small clinic three times a month.

And since Elves could survive in feeding off of magical energy alone, the people usually prioritize giving magic crystals and stones to Cassandra and Clima before shipping all of them out to Lithelle.

Unfortunately, I've not yet met the three other magical beings but I do know their names now thanks to the people.

The first one is a half-Dragon named Sagana who is currently being forced to work as one of the King's personal servants, to my surprise. Apparently, he served as some sort of 'gift' from Lithelle's king after Sirius was crowned.

I could use him to my advantage, especially considering the possibility of him having deep resentment to the two kings. A Dragon is such a rare and powerful creature in this world and having someone with such strength is very useful.

It's another possibility that his real power is being sealed off using some powerful magic. However, I'm more interested in knowing where other Dragonkin, either half or pure, live in this world. It'd be pretty fun to try to subdue them under my rule.

The second one is the town's only merchant and blacksmith from Freva, a Minotaur named Walric. He's said to be a gentle giant, standing more than 10 feet in height and being able to uproot a humongous tree from the ground using only one hand.

He has a strange love for humans but he has a weakness for alcohol. He apparently banned himself from going to the Wilde Tavern after he attended Cecilia's birthday party a year ago where he drank more than three barrels of beer and passed out drunk for more than 2 days. He's still good friends with the buff woman though and Cecilia speaks of him like a close brother.

I've never seen him before, but I'm already fascinated in him. Usually, Minotaurs are a wild race and seeing one who acts and speaks intelligently is out of the ordinary for me. Meeting him will be a fun experience.

Finally, we have Lithelle's main representative who acts as King Sirius' advisor and his main messenger to King Caldor. He's a Cyclops named Maehdros. Nothing much is known about him except for the fact that he treats King Sirius, or any other Human for that matter, as someone who's lower than him.

He doesn't go to the town at all and instead uses a Teleportation spell to go in and out of Domhnall. I also heard a rumor from a few knights that he's been trying to recruit Clima into Lithelle's army without King Sirius' knowledge.

Not only that, Lyonel himself told me that he overheard Maehdros forcing Clima to become a spy for Lithelle in exchange for a permanent residence for Cassandra in their kingdom. That's a very interesting slip up in the Cyclops' part, since Maehdros is apparently a very careful and secretive individual.

Truly, this small kingdom has more to offer than what I originally thought. The fact that this kingdom's endless potential is being trashed by their stupid king makes me want to speed up the process of taking over this entire country.

But I need to practice patience. After all, where's the fun in rushing things?

"Eggs and bacon for table three." Diago called out from behind the kitchen counter.

I grabbed the tray, thanked Diago and served the food to our awaiting customers. Ilya, on the other hand, looks like she's having a hard time in keeping up with the upcoming orders.

I used a small amount of my power to keep Ilya energized and her usual vigor returned instantly. We continued our work until every last bit of our patrons have now gone home.

"Good work, all of you! Now, tomorrow is Sunday so it's your time to relax and do whatever the hell you want!" Cecilia cheered as Ilya, Wex and I finished up cleaning the entire Tavern.

Lyonel looked like he's had too much to drink and have seemed to pass out on the bar. Cecilia is obviously very intoxicated too.

"Come on, woman. Pull up your weight." Diago grumbled as he helped Cecilia on her feet. The large woman is making his knees literally shake due to her weight.

Wex immediately came to his rescue and they lifted up Cecilia with each of her beefy arms over their necks.

"Just bring Lyonel to your room, Anaia. Ilya, go help her." Diago said and the younger girl and I nodded.

"What!? No!" Wex started to protest, trying to turn his head towards us but Cecilia's arm was on his way.

"Shut up and just help me with Cecilia." Diago scolded and they went up the stairs with great difficulty.

I sighed and shook my head as they still kept on bickering about how big and heavy is Cecilia as they go up. I hear Ilya giggle beside me and I patted her head.

"Go on. I could handle him on my own." I said to her.

"Are you sure?" She looks up at me and I nodded.

"Of course. I'm stronger than I look, you know." I winked at her playfully and she laughed.

She went ahead to her room and Lyonel and I were finally left alone.
