Chapter 28

One week later

'Is this our life from now on?' I question my wolf. 'No! Our mate will save us.' She says. 'Then where is he? He could've followed us when we left and he didn't! If it weren't for you, we wouldn't be here!' I spit out.  'I'm sorry.' She whimpers. 'It's okay.. just don't let me shift back.'  'I won't. I promise.'

When I got here they through me in a cell and told me I was going to mated to Lakota. My wolf panicked and shifted to wolf form that way he couldn't mate with me for now. Someone comes down everyday to see if I'm still a wolf, they are adamant on me mating with Lakota. Since being here I've only seen Lakota once. He wasn't very happy to see me as my wolf so he began kicking her until we passed out from the pain.

I'm positive I've got a couple broken ribs and my back leg is broken. I can't move too much without whimpering in pain, so I stay laying on the floor curled up in a ball. I know I have to shift back soon so that my wolf can heal but I want to give Atticus and Cain some time to find me. If they're not here in two days I'll have to mate with Lakota..

A guard comes walking down and crouches in front of my cage, "You're just pissing him off more. If you would just let him mate with you this could all be over." He says lowly. I just snarl at him. "I know your wolf is hurting Zaraphine. If you keep up with this she's gonna die." He tells me causing me to let out a growl. "Fine. Esther will be down soon." He says getting up and turning to leave.

Atticus POV

"How have we not found her Cain?" I question my brother. "Whoever took her has to be working with a witch and blocking her sent." He tells me. "So how do we find her!" I growl out. "I have an idea but I don't know if it's gonna work..." he trails off. "What! I'll try anything! I just want my mate back! I just want to know she's safe." I say sadly. "We need to try and contact Selene." He says. "How do we do that? I've never tried to contact her before." "You need to go to sleep and only think of her. Picture her with you and if she wants to see you she should show up." He explains.

I go up to my door and take in a deep breath, 'it still smells like her..' my wolf whimpers. 'I know.. we'll get her back.' I tell him. I open my door and walk in feeling the tears well up in my eyes. I walk to my bathroom and step inside walking towards my shower. I go inside and lay down on the floor imagining Selene. 'Will this work?' My wolf asks. 'I don't know but we have to try.'

My eyes flutter closed as soon as a bright white light flashes in front of me. I try to stand but my body is fighting me, I just start falling. It felt like I was falling for hours before landing on the ground, standing up. 'Where are we?' My wolf questions. "Your in the clouds Atticus. What can I do for you?" A beautiful women asks. 'Is this Selene?' My wolf asks. "Yes my child. I am Selene, goddess of the moon." She says smiling at me. "I need my mate! She is missing! I can't find her, I came to ask for help." I explain. "She's missing?" Selene questions. I explain what happened from when she attacked me and Cain to now.

"Oh dear. When she left you, she came to see me. I told her some very important things but she didn't act like she was going to leave. I know she wanted to think about things but I didn't think she would run." She explains. "What did you tell her?" I question. "I'm sorry but that is something I cannot tell you. You and your wolf are not ready." She says. "What do you mean we're not ready! Zara has only been a wolf for a couple of weeks and she is ready? How is that possible! I need to know what it is so I can find my mate!" I growl at her. "This is why you're not ready. You let your emotions control your actions, son."
