Chapter 12
"What makes you say that? Are you working with him?!" He barks out accusingly. "Oh my goddess! Shut up! Are you really that stupid? If I was working with him do you think I would've walked all the way fucking way here? No I wouldn't have. I wouldn't have even ran from the ball room. I don't fucking run. So obviously me running was me running for my damn life!" I rush out angrily. I can feel my wolf surfacing, even she is upset with our mate. "Brother stop. Calm down, she's innocent. You know that." Cain says. "So I was right. You were following me for someone. I never wanted one and I told you that. I trusted you with that. But yet here you are rescuing me from one asshole to hand me over to another one." I yell at Cain.
"Zar, I'm sorry. Yes I was watching you for Atticus. But he's really not a bad guy." He tries to reason with me making me scoff. "Not a bad guy huh? He refuses to talk to me unless it's to get him to do what he wants. And when I tell him something he doesn't fucking like I'm working the guy that made my life hell. Do you know how hard it's been living with that monster? No you fucking don't. Just leave me the fuck alone. All of you!"
I storm out of the office and walk down the hall trying to find a room to stay in for the night. 'We are leaving first thing in the morning.' I tell my wolf. 'Okay. But can we go for a run first? I'm upset also and I think it will help both of us.' She asks me. 'Yeah I'll let Cain know.' Walking down the stairs I mind link Cain letting him know I'll be outside for a while. 'Okay. Just don't leave the territory.' He responds immediately.
Walking outside I immediately breath in the fresh air walking to the side of the house where I originally shifted. It takes me a full minute to shift into my wolf. Standing up I stretch and move my head from side to side. 'You ready?' 'Definitely.' She responds. I take off running away from the house towards the outer edge of the territory. After running around the pack a few times I spot a pond and make my way towards it. I lean down and start to lap up water. The moon is hanging over head shining brightly down at me as if yelling at me. I look up towards it and howl as loud as I can trying to get my point across. 'Why? Why did you do this to me? Why did you take everyone from me! Why did you cause all of this? Take him away!! You took everyone else from me why not take my mate too! I don't want him!' I scream out in my head!!!
She doesn't answer me of course which makes me huff while turning away from the moon and making my way back to the pack house. Just as I'm about to reach the house the door swings open and out comes a very pissed off Atticus. 'Good. I hope he's mad.' I tell my wolf. "Where we're you?" He asks angrily. I huff at him and attempt to roll my eyes walking towards my clothes. I shift back and go to the front of the house where Atticus is still standing in front of the door scowling. "You know that face makes you look ugly as shit, right?" I spit out. "Let's go. I'm showing you to your room." He says ignoring me. "Tell Cain to show me my room. I don't wanna be around you."
Cain comes walking through the door a few minutes later with a satisfied grin. "Hey Atticus. I see she's still pissed at you. Don't worry I'll show her to her room." Walking up to me and lightly grabbing my arm pulling me towards the house. "Good night brother." He says with a smirk. I follow behind him up the stairs and down the hallway. He leads me to a door at the end of the hall. "This is your room Zar. Get some rest and I'll see you in the morning." He tells me. "Good night Cain. Thank you for coming to get me." I thank him.
Walking inside there is a huge bed in the middle of the room with two night stands on both sides of it. There is a desk on the wall farthest from the bed matching the bed set. There are two doors along the wall to the side that I'm guessing is the bathroom and closet. I turn around and close the door making sure to lock it. I walk towards the bed and take my shirt and pants off leaving me in just my sports bra and boy short underwear. I climb into bed and let out a soft moan at how comfortable the bed is, pulling the comforter up to chin and closing my eyes drifting off to sleep.
