Chapter 7: Getting Ready for Tonight
The Queen summons a knight to escort the beast man to the dungeon in chains.
Servants are then summoned to escort La and Zara to the guest rooms to clean up and meet back in the dinning room later tonight to speck with the Queen.
"We have a lot to discuss so go and get ready for tonight," the Queen says to them.
La and Zara nods in agreement and head off for their respective rooms. The Queen feels like today has been quite eventful, and she is looking forward to discussing everything with La and Zara tonight.
La and Zara arrive at their rooms,
separated for now to get some time to themselves. La is feeling lonely without Zara and decides to take a bath.
Meanwhile, Zara is admiring everything in the room, from the furniture and decorations to the food and drinks that the servants have prepared for her. One of the servants finds her demeanor to be a little weird.
La takes a bath while Zara browses the room, taking everything in. She also notices the suspicious look that the servants are giving her. Later in the evening, it's time for La and Zara to meet up in the dining room to speak with the Queen.
La and Zara are all dolled up and ready to meet with the Queen, having gotten cleaned up and changed into new clothing. They both feel nervous but also slightly excited about what the Queen has to say. La tries to lighten the mood, saying to Zara,
"Hey, we look pretty good, don't you think?"
Zara smiles at La's attempt at humor,
and replies, "Sure do, we're looking great today."
The two girls share a brief laugh, but
quickly grow tense again as they move towards the dining chamber to meet with
the Queen.
La and Zara arrive at the dining chamber,
the two girls looking nervous yet excited. They both sense that the Queen has something important to say. They walk
in slowly and sit down at the dinner table,
across from the Queen and her Knight. La speaks first, "Your Majesty, thank you for inviting us here today."
Zara nods in agreement as she too thanks the Queen. The Queen smiles at them both and responds, "You are most welcome. I invited you here today to
speak about a few different matters, but
I think we should begin with the most
important one."
