Kaideon stared down at Neveah, there was a gleam in his eyes that had not been there up until this day.
He watched her drift off to sleep, his heart warm and overflowing with elation.
Now that Kaideon looked closely, there were more obvious differences between Neveah and Eira, features Neveah had that were more like Kaideon's.
Neveah was everything Kaideon had imagined his daughter would look like, yet she had been right in front of him for months now and he had known nothing.
Kaideon shook off his thoughts, it was okay now since he had finally recognized her and Kaideon would be damned before he lost anymore time than he already had.
Kaideon got up to his feet and adjusted the covers over Neveah before he headed out of the room.
Menarx still stood outside, leaned against the wall, his gaze settled on Kaideon as Kaideon stepped out of the room and shut the door behind him.
"How is she?" Menarx asked in concern.
