“Good morning,” he said. His breath had a hint of mint and coffee.
“Hi.” I still felt a little shy in his presence.
“I see you didn’t shave again today.” He nuzzled my scruff a little.
“I remembered you liked that,” I replied, leaning into him.
“Oh, so you were thinking about me, then?” he said against my cheek. “Good, we’re making progress.” That surprised a chuckle out of me.
“You’re lovely when you laugh, did you know that?” He kissed my temple, then feathered tiny kisses to my ear.
“No, I didn’t.” I was slightly breathless.
“You are, and I’m going to remind you of that every day, ‘til you get it.”
“If you must.” I could definitely get used to this.
