Back in the darkness, Onari stood stock still, staring at the place he brother just was with a sad, contented smile on his face. Yu Wu hugged him from behind. A sigh of peace and healing escaped both of their mouths.

With the tribulation now over, they were soon ejected back into the physical world. The instant they were back in their bodies, a wave of Qi rippled from both of them. The liquid True Qi churned inside their cores like some sort of chemical reaction.

The Qi reaction only took a few seconds. Soon enough, all their True Qi was upgraded and transformed into Inborn True Essence -- the next form of a cultivator's internal energy. Inborn True Essence was a requisite step between True Qi and Spirit Energy. It allowed for more flexible uses of a cultivator's energy, such as the infamous ability to control swords remotely and even use them to fly.

The Inborn True Essence rapidly condensed within the Life Source Diantians of both Onari and Yu Wu. In a process reminiscent of star birth, the Inborn True Essence reached critical density, and a weak Essence Core was born. This Essence Core marked the initial minor realm of the Fourth Stage: Void Core.

Yu Wu's giddy excitement at their advancement was infectious. Onari found himself matching the wide grin that had settled onto her face.

"We should go again!" she blurted out, before blushing. "To, uh, celebrate…"

Onari chuckled. One thing they had discovered since they started Dual Cultivation a year ago was that Yu Wu was a fiend for the art of sexual cultivation. It wasn't just the sex, pleasure, and progress that came along with the act of Dual Cultivation. It was also the connection.

Yu Wu had never felt closer to anyone, and she suspected she never would. She and Onari were always connected to each other, but when they cultivated together, that feeling of intimacy shot up to unmatchable levels.

"~Are you sure we have time for another round?~" Onari teased.

Yu Wu rolled her eyes, "We always have time for another round."

"I don't know~" Onari said in a singsong tone. "It's about time for our yearly tour of Japan~"

The yearly tour was something that they had started doing a couple of years ago at Yasaka's suggestion. It wasn't required, but as Yasaka's heir, it was heavily encouraged for Onari to make himself known to the various subfactions and outside factions that inhabited Japan.

This usually meant visiting the Five Principle Clans, the devils of Kuoh, and the Grigori's newly formed SLASH/Dog team. The visits didn't have to be very long. The whole tour was usually over in a week, but Onari had extended their previous two tours to show Yu Wu the wonders of Japan.

"The Clans and the devils can wait. They aren't going anywhere. Right now, you should be worried about your poor, desperate Dao Companion," Yu Wu pouted.

Onari chuckled, "Alright, alright. I guess we do have time for another round after all."
