Obsidian's Moon

Gold Tier Winner of WPC #139 *** Two souls were prophesied to meet and fall in love. They were made for each other, chosen by the moon goddess to complete each other. But what would happen when something threatens to break them apart? Do you think a love predestined by a deity will prevail? *** Lara looked up and she froze when her eyes came in contact with the bluest eyes she had ever seen. "You are...?" He asked. Lara caught her breath and froze up. She can't answer him! She already knew the CEO was ridiculously handsome. But she didn't think he was this handsome! He already asked her a question but all she could think of was... Noah James Smith looked intimidatingly beautiful in his company photo but in person, he's more than that. His photo didn't do him any justice! He was devilishly handsome, and very intense too. His electric blue eyes looked like they could see into her soul if he wanted to. And she was melting like ice-cream in front of him. Noah looked at the woman who just entered his office and his eye zeroed in on her. She looks like a dear in headlights. Her lips were gaping and she looked stunned after seeing his face. Did she hear what I said? He thought inwardly as he stood up and walked around his desk. "Who are you?" he asked again, and that got Lara out of her trance. "Oh! Uhm. I-uhh. I-I'm nobody..." She replied after struggling for words. Then she remembered what she came there to do and approached his desk. "Actually, I came here to deliver this…" Noah casually sat on his desk and crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes watching her as she squirmed under his gaze, holding the envelop close to her chest as she awkwardly approached him and his desk. "I'm... I'm going to put this here for you, sir..." she said and placed the brown envelope just beside where he sat and then backed away like she'd been burned by his presence. She couldn't even look him in the eye. Noah glanced at the envelope then backed at Lara who was now awkwardly playing with her fingers. "I'll be going now, sir. I'm sorry for disturbing you-" "You haven't answered my question yet." he stopped her and she froze again. "P-pardon?" "What's your name?" "I-uhh..." Lara started to panic. Is he going to fire me? Noah looked at her ID. "Looking at your ID from this distance, it seems that you're one of my employees." "Ah yes, I'm-" She bit her lip and deflated like a balloon. Will I get reprimanded if he discovers I'm just a newbie? "Why did you stop? Is it really hard for you to tell me your name?" Lara immediately shook her head. "N-no. No, sir. I just- uhh. I find you intimidating…" she unconsciously said and gasped. What did I just say? Noah didn't respond but the corner of his lips turned up for a second there before it vanished as soon as it appeared. "I see..." [Time Skip] Noah looked outside, staring aimlessly at the bright city lights outside his window while twirling his drink in his hands. His mind was deep in thought. And it was mostly about the fact that he had found his mate. He's been waiting for her to appear in his life ever since he reached adulthood. And now that she's here, he couldn't stop his urge to possess her. Claim her as his. When their eyes met for the first time, he immediately felt the pull between them. He wanted her the instant he laid his eyes on her and she was a new employee in his company. "Lara Louis…" Noah murmured her name and he couldn't help but think about her eyes. Her expressive auburn eyes that was hidden underneath her glasses. *** Discord: https://discord.gg/VmAWdAr Disclaimer on the cover photo! It is not mine, guys. I'm Here

25: I'm Here

Rachel shook her head. "Anyway, I'm thirsty." She turned to Chance, "Are you thirsty?"

"Very." Chance nodded. "That is why I did the liberty of ordering the drinks for us. You're welcome, by the way."

Rachel cheered. Their drinks not long after. Chance stood up and proposed a toast for their very first night out.

"To friends!" He said.

Lara and Rachel smiled and raised their glasses to him. "To friends!" They clicked their drinks and swallowed the contents in one go.

"The night is still young, ladies!" Chance announced, placing his glass on the table. "Get wasted."

"That's the plan!" Rachel down another glass in one go and Chance did the same. Lara just sat watching her friend getting more drunk than her.

Chance stood up. "I'm going back to the dance floor. You coming, Larabells?"

Lara shook her head, still gulping down her drink. "You guys go and enjoy yourself. I'm good."

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Oh c'mon, Lars. Come down with us. I'm sure you'll love it if you just try."

Lara sighed. "I don't know how to dance, okay. Not like you guys."

Rachel chuckled, "Why? Is ballroom dancing the only dance you know?"

Lara pursed her lips. Ballroom dancing is indeed the only thing she knows. Parties in Velhella were different. Attending one was like going back to the 15th hundreds where balls and seasons were still a thing.

"Not knowing how to dance is not an acceptable excuse, Larabells. Besides, there are no rules on the dance floor. Just do you."

Lara looked at Chance in exasperation. She can't say no to this guy. He can be so persuasive if he wanted to.

"Fine."

Lara gave up her resistance and both of her friends face lit up like fireworks display.

"Great!"

They were so pleased by her submission that they dragged her to the middle of the dance floor, with them holding her arm on both sides so she wouldn't escape.

[Now Playing: Bebe Rexha - Sacrifice]

The DJ changed the song and it was a famous song, one of Rachel's favourite. Rachel cheered and started dancing. Chance too since the song was so good.

Lara suddenly felt unsure, surrounded by people jumping around to the beat of the music, she can't dance like this without choreography in mind. The energy was overwhelming and everyone was savouring the moment.

Rachel noticed Lara still standing awkwardly in the middle of the dancefloor so she taught her friend a simple dance move.

"Close your eyes and start swaying your body. Let the music guide your movements. Just go with the flow." Rachel shouted through the loud music.

Lara gulped. "Okay." She was a bit nervous but what the hell, Lara followed her suggestion and closed her eyes. She started swaying her body to the music.

"There we go..." Rachel grinned and resumed her dancing. She's proud that Lara's finally doing it, just dancing. The song build up and Lara increased the intensity of her movements. She let her body grow with it. Not minding herself anymore.

Moments later, Lara was really enjoying herself. She was smiling the whole time. The DJ changed genre from time to time, like playing an old disco music then going back to those times when J.Lo's songs were still a hit.

The crowd howled and the three went with it, howling their lungs out as well, releasing their feelings. Rachel showed more dance moves to Lara and Lara copied them whilst laughing. Chance did the same. He showcased his dance moves and they laughed at the silliness of some of them like the gangnam style thingy and macarena, but it was fun. There are no problems in their minds. No stress. They were just dancing without a care of the world. And it was the most freeing time of their lives.

Suddenly, Lara felt someone was watching her from the VIP rooms above. Her senses tingled and she look up. There and then, she met a pair of familiar, electric blue eyes hungrily staring back at her. She gasped.

Noah? Has he been watching her this whole time?

"What's wrong?" Rachel noticed Lara stopped dancing so she asked.

"Uhm..." Lara's expression was surprised, but she replaced it with a smile when she turned to Rachel. "Actually, I feel thirsty. I'm going back up and get myself something to drink. I'll be right back." Lara hurriedly left without another word and Rachel blinked.

"Okay..." Rachel was surprised by the sudden retreat. But she promised to return so Rachel shrugged her concerns and continued dancing.

Lara's heart pounded inside her chest. Rushing her way upstairs to the VIP rooms. She ignored the protest of those people she bumped her way through the narrow hallway. She didn't know why but she was anxious to see Noah. To prove she didn't hallucinate everything.

Lara made guesses inside her mind to find the room he was in. But a door beside her suddenly opened and a hand shoot out, grabbing her wrist and pulled her in.

She yelped in surprise. A strong body pushed her backwards and she gasped when she suddenly hit a wall. Noah's familiar scent reached her nostrils and she relaxed.

So he's not a hallucination. He was indeed here.

Before Lara could speak, Noah growled and captured her lips.

"You're going to be the death of me."

He said before kissing her again. Forcefully. Not soft. But full of passion and hunger.

Lara accepted his lips without fighting back. She couldn't believe Noah was kissing her again. This was the second kiss they shared after the first one in the elevator. And she finds herself liking it.

"Noah..." Whispering his name, Lara wrapped her arms around his neck. His lips tasted divine. And she wants more.

"I'm here, baby." Noah grabbed the back of her head and pulled her close to deepen their kiss. "... And I'm not letting you go back down there." He growled and Lara giggled.

So he saw her dance. And obviously he was jealous. From the way he was holding her, he wasn't going to let her dance again.

Noah pressed his tongue inside her mouth and Lara whimpered in his arms. He pressed his knees between her thighs. Riding up her skirt, revealing the thin skimpy underwear she was wearing underneath to match her dress.

His hands travelled down to her spine making her shiver under his touch.

Noah groaned. "Fuck!" She was sensitive. And clearly aroused by him.

"How long have you been watching me?" She asked, panting for air when he kissed her neck.
