53: Blood and Lies

An entourage of guards followed behind them as they went on their way to the conference room.

As the King, Sebastien walked ahead while Lara followed behind him as the crown princess.

After her were the royal guards- fierce warriors who have been serving the family for centuries, famed for their unwavering loyalty towards the monarch they pledge their allegiance to.

Both Sebastien and Lara entered the conference room and everybody was waiting for them inside. They bowed their heads at their presence.

Lara and her father approached their seats. Various jewels adorned the king's seat, a deserving alternative to the throne. The king sat down first then followed the princess.

The others took their respective seats afterwards.

Lara silently studied every member in the room. She recognised some, but some she did not.
