Obsidian's Moon

Gold Tier Winner of WPC #139 *** Two souls were prophesied to meet and fall in love. They were made for each other, chosen by the moon goddess to complete each other. But what would happen when something threatens to break them apart? Do you think a love predestined by a deity will prevail? *** Lara looked up and she froze when her eyes came in contact with the bluest eyes she had ever seen. "You are...?" He asked. Lara caught her breath and froze up. She can't answer him! She already knew the CEO was ridiculously handsome. But she didn't think he was this handsome! He already asked her a question but all she could think of was... Noah James Smith looked intimidatingly beautiful in his company photo but in person, he's more than that. His photo didn't do him any justice! He was devilishly handsome, and very intense too. His electric blue eyes looked like they could see into her soul if he wanted to. And she was melting like ice-cream in front of him. Noah looked at the woman who just entered his office and his eye zeroed in on her. She looks like a dear in headlights. Her lips were gaping and she looked stunned after seeing his face. Did she hear what I said? He thought inwardly as he stood up and walked around his desk. "Who are you?" he asked again, and that got Lara out of her trance. "Oh! Uhm. I-uhh. I-I'm nobody..." She replied after struggling for words. Then she remembered what she came there to do and approached his desk. "Actually, I came here to deliver this…" Noah casually sat on his desk and crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes watching her as she squirmed under his gaze, holding the envelop close to her chest as she awkwardly approached him and his desk. "I'm... I'm going to put this here for you, sir..." she said and placed the brown envelope just beside where he sat and then backed away like she'd been burned by his presence. She couldn't even look him in the eye. Noah glanced at the envelope then backed at Lara who was now awkwardly playing with her fingers. "I'll be going now, sir. I'm sorry for disturbing you-" "You haven't answered my question yet." he stopped her and she froze again. "P-pardon?" "What's your name?" "I-uhh..." Lara started to panic. Is he going to fire me? Noah looked at her ID. "Looking at your ID from this distance, it seems that you're one of my employees." "Ah yes, I'm-" She bit her lip and deflated like a balloon. Will I get reprimanded if he discovers I'm just a newbie? "Why did you stop? Is it really hard for you to tell me your name?" Lara immediately shook her head. "N-no. No, sir. I just- uhh. I find you intimidating…" she unconsciously said and gasped. What did I just say? Noah didn't respond but the corner of his lips turned up for a second there before it vanished as soon as it appeared. "I see..." [Time Skip] Noah looked outside, staring aimlessly at the bright city lights outside his window while twirling his drink in his hands. His mind was deep in thought. And it was mostly about the fact that he had found his mate. He's been waiting for her to appear in his life ever since he reached adulthood. And now that she's here, he couldn't stop his urge to possess her. Claim her as his. When their eyes met for the first time, he immediately felt the pull between them. He wanted her the instant he laid his eyes on her and she was a new employee in his company. "Lara Louis…" Noah murmured her name and he couldn't help but think about her eyes. Her expressive auburn eyes that was hidden underneath her glasses. *** Discord: https://discord.gg/VmAWdAr Disclaimer on the cover photo! It is not mine, guys. A Match Made In Heaven

19: A Match Made In Heaven

Lara's heart hammered inside her chest as Noah parked the car with ease in the parking lot basements. She asked Noah to park his vehicle there instead of letting her out at the front entrance, which was what he opted to do at first. It was weird, getting escorted out of the car by her big boss. Rumours would fly, and she didn't want the spotlight directed at her yet. She had enough attention from the employees this month and they will surely blab about it, Chance and Rachel will probably start raining questions at her during lunch. Imagine the horror she had to go through if she makes a scene.

In short, it'll be bad. Terrible, in fact. And she wanted to avoid that kind of future.

There are scenes in which the main couple announces their relationship by letting the guy escort her out in front of a large crowd that may sound cool in the movies. However, thinking about it on the rational side. Lara doesn't know what kind of relationship she and Noah actually have. True, it's confirmed that they were mates. Even the girl in her dreams told her that. But all they did was talk last night, their relationship status not included in the conversation, so all right to assume that they had no label, yet… only the boss and assistant secretary label was what's official between them.

Noah opened the door for her.

"Thank you." Lara pulled out of the car, clutching her shoulder bag to her chest.

They walked closer to the private elevator and Lara got relieved that nobody saw them ride it together. They arrived at the top floor without delays, and a grinning Stefani greeted them, her smile almost reaching her ears.

"Looking good." Stefani complimented Lara proudly, giving the outfit a once over since she was the one who picked it out under Noah's orders.

Lara blushed, "Thank you…" she stepped out and looked at Stefani's outfit.

"Ah, yes!" Stefani rolled her shoulders while straightening her jacket. "I bought for this outfit so we could match." She giggled, stepping beside Lara to show that they indeed had identical working clothes today, except that Stefani's was black while Lara's was white.

They sound like a female version of an angel and a demon walking side by side with each other. Stefani's dark smoky-eyed make-up and dark red lips. She looked stunning, yet fierce and dominating at the same time. Very opposite to Lara's natural makeup.

Noah frowned. Now that Stefani had mentioned it. They were indeed wearing matching clothes, making Stefani and Lara look close from an outsider's perspective. Noah felt a small prick in his chest. He never once cared what Stefani bought with his money, but this time he got annoyed that Stefani bought the same clothes that matched his mate's clothing.

He should've worn his white three-piece suit today…

Lara and Stefani followed behind Noah to his office, hand in hand. "You know, you look even better without your hair tied up like this," Stefani eyed the ponytail scrunchy that Lara used to style her hair with like it was her fashion enemy or something, "And the glasses…" Stefani groaned, "Are you trying to pull off a librarian, look here?"

Lara laughed, "But I like how I look."

"Yeah. Yeah. I think we should have a serious talk about your fashion sense later." Stefani sighed. Her dear disciple still had a long way to go.

Noah sat on his executive chair, still not over his thoughts, while Stefani and Lara took the chairs before his desk.

They were all silent for a while. "Oh, right!" Lara took a small notebook from her bag while Stefani eyed her bag next. Luckily it didn't ruin the whole look, Stefani thought.

Lara was ready to list down her tasks for the day when Stefani turned towards their boss and casually opened a totally offset topic.

"How was the date last night?" She asked, an amused yet teasing smirk playing on her lips.

"Uh-" Lara glanced at Noah.

Noah sighed. Typical of Stefani to throw the bomb like that. She always knows what to do, especially what makes people react. Good thing he's used to her antics, he can stay stoic at her advances with a straight face. However, he wasn't in the mood to play with her, so he gave her a 'Can we focus?' eye.

Stefani pouted, "Bummer." She said, leaning back in her chair with ease, "I've been itching for details since last night, you guys are no fun…" She said, totally enjoying the atmosphere she created. An impassive alpha and an innocent angel, "Truly a match made in heaven…"

"By the way, I think it's high time you introduce us, Noah."

Lara blink. Now, she didn't know what Stefani was talking about.

"Lara, meet Stefani, my childhood friend and daughter of my father's beta."

Lara's jaw dropped at the sudden information reveal she just heard.

Stefani's a werewolf?

"No way… No wonder you look so otherworldly in my eyes."

Stefani laughed at her reaction. "You make me sound like an alien..."

Noah silently watched the friendly exchange between the two. However, the official introductions haven't finished yet, "Stefani, meet Lara Louisa Dragomir, my mate…"

"Of course, I know her. You don't have to tell me her full… name…" Stefani blinked, "Dragomir? Why does your last name sound so familiar?"

Realization spread across Stefani's face, making Lara worry a little bit. What if Stefani hates me, she thought. According to the limited information she gained from the royal library when she was young, there's this book about the Vampire and Werewolf history and it says that both races hated each other to the core. Even after the Goddess, Selena established the treaty for the sake of world peace. The treaty only stopped both races from inflicting hate on each other through physical means.

Lara trusts Noah, and Noah seems to trust Stefani since he's revealing her true identity to her now. However, Lara still felt scared. What if Stefani's view towards her turns bad? Will she hate her for having vampire blood flowing in her veins?

Stefani was one person she truly came to admire after coming into the human realm, and she didn't want to lose a friend with whom she felt a strong connection with...
