The blood of the spiders was useless. So creatures that were huge in size, were effectively useless. Their blood was poisonous in fact it was playing rotten. It was of no further use and it pissed him off to no levels.

It was only the blood of faeries that had come closer to the blood of Adaline but other than that nothing. And he had made sure to test every one of the lot. 

"Nathaniel," Isla's hands touched his shoulders but did not calm him down like they once used to. Instead, they felt normal.

"He cannot see inside the palace anymore. They have got it the place with the strongest of spells of both witchcraft and prayers to the goddess they worship," she spat, "you must hurry up." 

Again with him. "Who is he, Isla?" 

"He is who sees all," She answered as she always did. "He has me in his hands, Nathaniel. You will bring me back from him, yes?"
