"This isn't right, Chloe, I'm telling you," I say to her as soon as we step into the lawyer's office.
My gaze forgets about my marriage and Chloe's persuasion to end it for a second and begins roaming around the space. The skyline view from the floor-to-ceiling windows makes my jaw drop in wonder. New York is beautiful, but seeing it from this point of view makes me admire it even more.
"And I'm telling you to do the best thing for you and your son. You can't sacrifice your son for an asshole like that," Chloe says to me as she tries to get her baby girl to suck some milk from her breast.
"Michael is still my husband. I can't end what I have with him just because of Sammy. Can't we all co-exist? To be honest, that's what I need to do."
