Back to Homelessness and my Solution, Working in a Coffee Shop Near the University

Life had brought us back to homelessness, facing the harsh realities of the street once again. But this time, I had two NPCs by my side, which made everything feel different.

On the first day, we settled in a dark alley, alongside my fellow vagabonds. The vampire, Elara, began to draw the attention of nighttime revelers. Her seductive presence attracted those seeking experiences beyond the ordinary.

Despite her facade of mortal beauty, Elara greatly enjoyed the fact that people appreciated her allure. She reveled in the compliments. I struggled to control this situation, perhaps due to my lack of experience in raising children.

I insisted that she should keep a low profile and not attract too much attention to us, but her vampiric nature often overrode her self-control.

Alex, on the other hand, was the most sensible and composed among us. He often attempted to mediate our disputes.

Over time, Elara began to grasp the human world better and the importance of having money and influence in this society. She began to question me for being too passive and for not leveraging our abilities.

Sometimes, during the nights when we sought refuge in dark alleyways, Elara would ask me why we didn't use our abilities to secure a more comfortable life. Her logic was simple: we were immortal and had supernatural abilities.

The breaking point came when I realized Elara was harassing a young university student passing by. Her intentions were clear: she wanted to drink real blood and had targeted this seemingly timid young man.

Once in the alley, I could see Elara approaching the young man with a seductive smile, while he appeared excited. It was clear she was insinuating something more than just a simple conversation. The young man blushed.

I intervened immediately and firmly asked Elara to leave the young university student alone. Our discussion turned into a heated confrontation, where she argued that she needed real blood to survive and that I shouldn't worry about humans I didn't even know.

Elara lost her temper and slapped me. It was the first time someone had physically assaulted me since I had started my life on the streets.

She showed no signs of remorse. Instead, she withdrew into the shadows in silence.

Desperate to find a solution to our situation and influenced by my old-school thinking, I felt compelled to seek employment in the traditional way.

I was near a local university and knew there were job opportunities in nearby cafes.

I decided to enter a small café right next to the university. The aroma of coffee and the murmur of students filled the place. I approached the counter and timidly inquired if they had any vacancies.

The café owner, a kind woman named Anna, looked at me sympathetically. Despite my disheveled appearance and lack of experience in the industry, she agreed to give me a chance.

[The old man fell deep into an endless abyss, and amidst the darkness, he heard a familiar melody softly echoing:  —Duerrrrme, mi amoooor, papi mira desde allaaaa, a dormirrrr mi estrellitaaaaa de mamaaaa…..—He found himself face to face with a baby, but when he tried to touch it, he fell even deeper into the multiverse.

The faint warmth of the sunlight woke them from their nightmare. He found himself with his two NPCs, each supporting him on a shoulder. Elara was holding his hand]
