Chapter 21 All Is Shattered

Logan:

I stared down at the phone while a single tear hit the screen. I tried to think of something that I could say that would not cause her to ask more questions and I panicked when she suggested she come over to my house. But she's not stupid, she will see right through that message, I know it, and I will have to do or say something more drastic to keep her away. I can't believe that I thought my life could be different, that I could live a life away from all of this crap but I was wrong.

I was wrong to tell her I loved her. I was wrong to try and get involved with someone as innocent as her. I was almost out of high school and away from all of this, and I might have met Alicia later down the road. Perhaps we might still, if we are meant to be together, but there is no way I'm going to let her near that monster.
