Nolan glare at me with a harsh expression before reaching around me, putting the necklace over my neck, and buckling the clasp. The way in which his fingers lightly brush over my skin sends a shiver down my spine, and he is totally oblivious to the impact that he is having on me at the moment.

"Olivia, if you believe it's a smart plan, I'll buy it for you if you agree with me. We are able to come up with a different option for Bella."

My eyes begin to dilate, and as I look in the rear-view mirror, I get a glimpse of his smile. "Don't lose track of the fact that your birthday is rapidly approaching," she reminded me.

As I tell him, "It's too much," my fingers are wrapped around the clasp on the back of the jacket. "It's too much," I say. " But I appreciate it. It is going to be perfect for her. It is quite necessary that you get something for her.

Nolan nods at me before taking the necklace off of me while keeping eye contact with my face as he does so. He utters just three simple words in a hushed voice: "Hey." "Rave, can you check to see whether everyone is okay? Do you realize that I got the feeling that you have been attempting to avoid me as of late? Do you know that I have this impression? Is it conceivable that Bella's expectations for the wedding have contributed to the stress that you have been feeling lately? I am aware of the fact that you have been assuming responsibility for a significant portion of the preparatory work that was first given to her. If it becomes too much for you to take, just let me know, all right? You need to be aware that it irritates me to no end when you become completely quiet all of a sudden.

I kindly smile at him and lay my fingertips on his arm before continuing. Nolan, you need not be concerned about any of us. All I can tell is that the last several weeks have been quite hectic for me."

His expression gives me the idea that he is aware that I am lying, but luckily, he does not call me out on it. His glance gives me the feeling that he is aware that I am lying. How do I let him know that the very thought of him being married to Bella gives the impression that everything is about to come to a close? It is too late to turn back now that we have arrived at this destination; none of my aspirations will ever be realized. How am I meant to explain to him that my heart is breaking in a way that it never has before, and that I do not know whether the parts can ever be put back together again once they have been shattered to such a degree?
