Not Even Death Could Do Us Part

PART ONE

In a small village called Ekunta, there lived two young people deeply in love. Their names were Ada and Chinedu. Chinedu was the first to profess his love to Ada, but as the beautiful Igbo girl that she is,Ada ignored him several times. Chinedu also didn't back off, as he kept us sending her letters,stalking her whenever she went to the streams to fetch water,sending his friends to her, and disturbing her friends in order to make his intentions clear to her. Ada was seen sitting alone on one side of the stream while Chidera, her intimate friend, stared at her from afar while she was blushing and startled her from behind, saying, "You have fallen for Chinedu too.Immediately, Ada hid her smiley face and said to her friend, "What do you mean?" With her red face, that couldn't be controlled. Chidera burst out into laughter. "Ada nne,so you want to start pretending for me when you know I know you better than anybody else?" looks at her teasingly again and bursts into laughter again. Stop it! Ada yelled as she was becoming uncomfortable with it. "Okay, you caught me. I think I'm beginning to like him too after reading the letter he wrote me again yesterday." Chidera seemed more interested. "Ehnehn, so he still sent you another letter yesterday? chai! I go, loveee!" Ada mimics her in a funny way: "Da go, loveeee, oooo...unserious fellow," and both ladies burst into laughter. Let's be going home before our parents start looking for us and leave the stream.

The next day, Ada was on her way to fetch firewood while Chinedu was taking a walk with his friend,Okon. They met each other and greeted casually, while Chinedu decided to wait for her on the same spot because he knew she would pass there if she was going home. They waited for a long time with no traces of Ada, then Okon couldn't wait anymore and left. Chinedu was pacing around, "Why is she taking so long? as he turned. Ada was behind him as she dropped the wood from her head. Who were you talking to? She said, ,Eerm, Ermmm. Nobody in Chinedu stammered. I just wanted to see your beautiful face again so I could dream well when I go to bed tonight. Ada smiled and said to him, "So if you don't see me, you can't sleep well... you liar" Chinedu looked at her and said, "Adanne, the love I have for you is no joke at all. I'm really sorry, but if you would give me a chance to prove myself, you won't regret it." walks up to her closely, holds hands, and looks slowly into her eyes. Ada couldn't maintain eye contact and looked down immediately as her heart raced so fast. She removed her hands from his and approached her wood on the floor. "I need to go home now; my mother is waiting for me,Ada said as she finally uttered a word. "Oh, I'm sorry for keeping you here, Chinedu replied as he carried the wood on his head and walked home with Ada.

  Ada late at night was reminiscing on the long love conversation she and Chinedu had and their plans of meeting up the next day as she was smiling and chuckling on her bed so excited as she was also able to express her love to Chinedu.She rolled on her bed again fantasying Untill she dozed off.It was a new day again everyone had started the days business,The farmers had gone to farm,so as the hunters and the market women with their baskets on their way to the market.Ada woke up feeling energetic has she had already planned her day out,She did her house chores and told her mom she was going to her friends place Chidera.Ada dressed up looking prettier than usual And applied a bit of makeup.she said "Mom I won't be long at Chi's place I promise".Her mother was busy in the kitchen cooking peeped to look at her only to see Ada dressing herself up properly in the sitting room mirror.And are you sure you and Chi are not going out later?No mom!She said affirmatively.If you say so but don't be long would need you to run some errands for me later replied her Mom."Okay mummy"Ada stormed out.

  On approaching the meeting point of she and Chinedu .He was already waiting for her with a smile she ran into his arms and hugged him because the previous night was full of dreams about him.Chinedu was shocked by her reaction but didn't hesitate to grab her waist to return the hug. "I was already scared that you won't make it again"said Chinedu smiling at Ada as they walked towards a cool spot under the tree. "I have my way around things.Chinedu I don't think have been under the tree.It feels so cool and the breeze is so calm like that close to the river.Chinedu replied "this is my favorite spot to wile away time.I'm glad that Adanne you are the first girl I'm bringing here,it's a good sign.Ada stares at him strangely and burst into laughter "Abegi don't kill which sign".Chinedu holds her both hands, "Adanne I really love you,No girl in this Village has Captured my heart like you did,I want to spend my last days with you.Stares at her lips and slowly bends his head to kiss her soft lips.Ada was shocked but also could not resist it even though it was her first kiss, she slowly savored the sweetness of his lips,locks his lips into hers like she was her pro.Chinedu held her waist so tight and was slowly massaged her butt and rolled up his hands to her boobs which was succelent even in the bra.Ada grab his hand and told him to stop then Chinedu really realized he might have fucked up and quickly apologized. "I'm sorry I got carried away…I eh I never meant to to to…." he stammered.Ada finally raised up her head and smiled "it fine I also enjoyed it"Chinedu cheered up immediately as that wasn't a reaction he expected.Chinedu immediately brought up to end the awkward atmosphere which Ada was also interested in,They gisted,Chinedu marveled Ada by his singing skills,played games until till Ada looked up in the sky and Shouted "Eewoo it's getting dark,I need to be home now Chinedu" Raised Ada up from where she was sitted "Okay my queen I would escort you home" They both departed.

  As several months passed,Chinedu and Ada became strong lovers.They were inseparable, always supporting and caring for each other. Their love seemed unbreakable.Their love became the talk of the town as both their parents also became aware of it and did not consent their relationship.Chinedu parents were based on the rumors some years back in the village that Ada's mom killed her father. "Chinedu,you can't be seen with that girl I'm warning you,yelled Chinedu's Mom,Mrs Okoro.Chinedu was grunting and stamping his feet "Mama,I'm no longer a kid and Ada is who I really love you can't continue to stop me from seeing her".Mrs Okoro jumps up from her sit this time "if you know you are my son and u suck these two breast"grabbing her breast "I'm telling you that you have to desist from seeing her or are u sure she has not charmed you like this.I cannot allow her kill my son like her mother murdered her father" slumps back on the chair and burst into tears.Chinedu in a calm countenance "Mama I know you want the best for me but still you have to also understand my plight.We can't allow rumors which surrounds Adanne father's death ruin our future together.I really want to be with Adanne,all you need to do is support me and give us your blessings.Mrs Okoro faces up and attacks him "Blessing kwa!you refuse to listen to me and you expect me to give you my blessings.She goes closer to her son and pats his shoulders ,Chinedu!Chinedu!there are several pretty girls in the village why can't you choose amongst them instead of this girl from a cursed family.Chinedu immediately shuns his mother "haha mama this is unfair ooo anyways you can't stop me from doing what I want.I have told you my own"Walks out.Mrs Okoro resumes crying again "Eewoooo …gods of Ekunta village help me oo, this boy finally wants to embarrass me ,don't worry wait untill your father comes back Chinedu you will will see the wrath you are calling for."
