Chapter 13:Face Off

The Next Day

Khione's pov

I quickly wore my uniform.I was glad that my parents had sent Samara when they had heard about what had happened.She was worried sick when she had first arrived but after some time she relaxed a bit.I took my books and the necessary stationery and walked out.While I was on my way to the class , I could feel everyone looking at me and whispering but the thing that surprised me was that I could feel awe, admiration and fear from their eyes.I shook my head and walked inside the class.the scenario repeated again and I found myself at the receiving end of their glances again.I went and sat on my desk.After like 2 minutes the two jerks entered and then many students started looking at them.I don't like them but thanks to them many students stopped looking at me and started looking at them.

The class teacher then entered and after some instructions she told us that today we will have an outdoor class.She asked us to find a partner cause the activity required two people or a pair.All the students got up and started talking with each other .Girls in groups surrounded Kaelean and Eugene and started asking them.I decided to finish my assignment which was due because I had been absent yesterday.

I was writing when suddenly a group of guys surrounded my desk and some of them started asking me to be their partner.I declined their request but new boys kept on surrounding and asking me the same questions. I decided the most effective way was to ignore them so I looked down and continued finishing my assignment.Then suddenly the boys around my desk parted like the red sea and a tall boy with black ebony hair looked at me and said , 'Will you like to be my partner.'

I ignored Eugene and continued doing my work.The whole class had their full attention on Eugene and me.He bent down and whispered in my ear , 'You know you owe me a favour right.'

He then stood straight again waiting for my answer.I stepped on his shoe and when he looked down he saw what I had written. 'If I become your partner then I owe you nothing okay.'

When he saw my message he shook his head and walked away.I was happy to be left alone but at the same time I was scared just thinking about the day he would ask me to repay that favour. The boys then started to ask me again.I was out of patience so I got up and gave them a cold stare .All of them took a step back remembering that I was the same person who had defeated a whole group of men yesterday.I walked to find the desk of my partner.

When I reached her desk that's when I realized Camilia was absent.I decided to tell the teacher to allow me to sit because I was still recovering from yesterday's event.

All of us walked out to the field.It was really sunny so I stopped and bent down and made a high bun.The way I used to make when we had our PE classes in my previous lessons.When I put my head up I saw that Eugene, Kaelean and Mary and some other girl were looking at me with weird expressions.I just walked past them.I told our homeroom teacher why I couldn't participate in today's events.She allowed me to sit and look at the students without having to participate in the activities. I thanked her and sat on the bench under the shade of the tree.

I saw our classmates with their feet tied together.It was like a three-legged race.I was surprised to see Mary with Eugene instead of Kaelean.I looked to see who was the unlucky person who happened to become Kaelean's partner.All of the students were now on the field with their feet tied to their respective partners but I couldn't see Kaelean. Thats when I heard someone sneer.

Really this guy should not be irritating me right now and should be with Mary, I mean now that the plot has changed Mary may end up with up Eugene instead of Kaelean.Not that it made a difference since both of them were assholes.

He stood beside me and looked at me scornfully.I looked at him with eyes of indifference.After like 5 minutes he said , 'Shouldn't you get up and pay respects to the crown prince.'

I looked at him and scoffed.He clenched his teeth and said , 'There is only one bench under the tree shade so you should leave especially after I took you to the nurse's office yesterday.'

I smirked and said, 'First come first serve and yes I should really thank you for taking me to the nurse's office yesterday after all there are some people in this world who leave a person who has fainted on the ground for almost 2 hours.'

He looked at me and opened his mouth to say when suddenly the physical teacher came and said, 'Perfect , you two come here .'

I looked at him and said , 'Sir, I have already asked my homeroom teacher for permission to sit for today's activity.'

Kaelean then said that he was having head pain so he decided to not participate in today's activity.

The teacher laughed and said , 'You two seemed fine while glaring at each other, now go out there and participate in that race and no more arguments.'

Both Kaelean and me looked at the teacher with irritation in our eyes and walked to the field.While I was walking I wondered who that teacher was who was brave enough to argue with Kaelean, after all he is the crown prince of this empire.

Then we tied our feet together while glaring murderously at each other.

When the race started everyone started moving together and many fell on the ground.We just stood there and with our faces looking as if we had just stepped on shit.The teacher shroud from above, 'The last pair will be forced to become desk partners for a month.'

We looked at each other and started taking steps.We had zero coordination and we were going to fall.I looked at the other students and realized that at this pace we were bound to come last.

I said , 'Okay left then right then left then right.'

Slowly we got the hang of it and before we realized it we had passed lots of students and now we were in the front along with some other kids.The race ended with us coming in fifth place.

I took off the rope and was about to go when Kaelean caught my right hand and said , 'About yesterday I'm sorry I should have tried harder to stop you.'

I was going to reply when another hand grabbed my left hand.Eugene looked at me and said, 'I want you to come with me.'

I was going to tell Eugene that I was not going anywhere with him and about Kaelean's apology, I was going to ask him to shove that stupid apology up his own ass.I was going to tell both of them to let go of my hands and when Eugene pulled me closer and whispered , 'The favour'.

I looked at Kaelean to ask him to let me go but I was surprised when he pulled me closer to him and his red eyes glowed while Eugene had a small smile on his face but his light blue eyes seemed to challenge Kaelean. I shook my head and when suddenly Kaelean's eyes stopped glowing and he let go of my hand and walked away.Well at least I have one less jerk to worry about now.I looked up at Eugene and told him to leave my hand and asked him where does he want to go.He looked at me and said 'You need to go and get changed first'.

I sighed and walked away regretting agreeing to this stupid thing in the first place but now I had no choice but to except his decision.
