Awaken

The sound of birds chirping entered my ears as I groggily opened my eyes.

'Where the hell am I?'

that was the only contemplation I had as I was greeted by the gleaming rays of sunlight.

I tried further gathering my thoughts as I shielded out the sunlight with my hand.

'That's right.....I was on a plane that started trembling out of control...the rest was a blur to me....all I can remember is my name...'

"Kai..."

I slowly got up from fully laying down, I sat up and looked at my surroundings in shock.

Trees...there were so many vibrantly tall trees, vines, and lush foliage everywhere...it was like I woke up in the middle of the Amazon rainforest.

"Ahh"

my teeth gritted as I grabbed the top of my head that started thumping and emitting an unbelievable pain.

"Damn"

I sighed as I realized how blatant my memory loss was, I must have suffered a severe head injury from the plane crash? I don't really know if it was a plane crash, I just remember boarding a gigantic plane with some very vague faces.

"At least the rest of my body looks fine" I chuckle to myself as I slowly rise to my feet, feeling a painful numbness all throughout.

"Argh"

I tried reminiscing once more but was only greeted with that unbearable headache again...guess I won't try to think of the past anytime soon...

I looked toward my surroundings again as the vibrant forest-like environment entered my eyes.

My eyes scanned around looking for other survivors, if this really was a plane crash, I wouldn't be the only one who survived right?

A thick metallic odor entered my senses as I looked behind me.

My eyes widened in surprise as I saw an old man with a tree branch punctured through his chest, blood was spilled everywhere and he looked to be dead.

My footsteps could be heard from the cracking of tree branches and leaves on the floor as I made my way to have a closer look.

The old man looked to be around 60 years old, but was surprisingly fit, he looked like he attended morning yoga classes with all the hot mothers.

Skinny, but healthy and nimble.

I curiously looked at him and sighed

"Oh how our fates are so different, I fell from the heavens and only lost my memories, you, however, got punctured by a tree branch" I stared at the old man and laughed at the way life goes.

I was going to turn around and look for more people until I heard a groan.

"Y-young" The old man managed to mutter

"Young?" Kai looked book at the old man, surprised that he was not dead and was actually able to talk.

"Y-young master Kai" The old man muttered as blood spilled from his mouth, he shakily reached into his robe and took out a golden ring.

Kai looked on bewildered, young master Kai?

The old man held out the ring like it was his dying wish for Kai to hold it.

Kai walked up to the old man who was on his last breath and took the ring.

As if his life mission was completed, the old man's last signs of life completely disappeared and fell limp, still connected to the tree.

"Thanks?"

Kai mumbled as he stared at the ring the old man gave him.

It was cold to the touch and actually heavier than it looked, it was fully made of a gold-like material and had serpents engraved all around the ring.

Kai looked at the ring and felt a strange connection to it, this must-have came from my family?

Young master Kai....serpent ring...

Kai didn't think about it too hard as he slipped on the ring onto his ring finger.

swoosh

Kai felt light and revitalized at this moment, his eyes closed as he felt a wonderful and warm feeling all throughout his body, the numbness gradually went away and the unbearable headache lessened.

It was like he got assaulted by healing magic

Kai looked down at the golden serpent ring in surprise, this ring actually had such magical effects?

He bowed towards the old man and said out-loud

"Thank you, old sir, if you have any beautiful daughters or even a loving wife, I will make sure to take good care of them."

If the old man was still alive he probably would have died from anger instead of death from blood loss.

Beautiful daughters? What if I had sons?

Do they have to be beautiful for you to take care of them?

And you aren't even sparing my wife?

You do know she's pretty old right.

Kai turned around and whistled happily as he tried remembering the events that led him into what seemed to be an island.

The ring healed the sharp pain he felt when he tried to recollect his thoughts, but unfortunately, did not fully recover his memories.

"You really are shameless."

A softly-spoken and beautiful voice entered Kai's ears which made him lightly hum in delight.

If this voice talked to him while he was lying in his bed, he would surely fall in-to the most pleasant sleep of his lifetime.

It was like the voice of a goddess, meant to calm and soothe her loyal followers.

But Kai acted as if he never heard the voice, he continued to walk forward whilst whistling.

'This lady, calling me shameless? I'll show you shameless, what will you do if I ignore you?' Kai chuckled to himself as he thought how she would come running into the palm of his hands.

The owner of the calm and soothing voice puffed her cute little cheeks and pouted as she watched Kai ignore her.

She awakened 30 minutes before Kai, she was just as surprised as Kai when she awoke in the middle of a beautiful forest, she also suffered from a similar tortuous memory loss.

What she did manage to recollect was that she boarded a plane with her friends, deciding to go on a vacation.

She decided to look for her friends but came across the scene of her notorious best friend's brother saying he would take care of an dead old man's beautiful daughters.

"Kai! Where are you going?!" The once calm and pleasant voice yelled out nervously to the unrestrained figure walking away.
