As Colette slowly returns to her cell with the guards escorting her there, she couldn't help but remember what had happened just mere moments ago. The fact that she could be so happy, that someone so eccentric actually showed great displeasure to her being mistreated. That happiness that she felt just wouldn't go away either, and yet she knew nothing about that 'dangerous' doctor, and was told not to speak with him. Everything was just so confusing right now, and that confusion seems to outgrow her happiness, the more she thought about that man.

Just why was he so dangerous?, just that question alone made her all the more concerned. There was clearly something going on right now, and the fact that she was left in the dark scared her more.

She really wanted to get out of there, and was determined to do so while taking her mother with her. Colette was not going to stay in a place where it was supposedly dangerous. Her happiness all at once changed, for she was now feeling motivated. The quicker she obeys Dr. Cade, then the quicker it will be for both her and her mother to get out of this place. Sadly all that she could do now though was wait for her blood work results to come back.

Closing her eyes in silence, she began to think about that illness again. She honestly was praying that her and her mother were clear of it. But what would she do if it did come back?, that alone was a terrifying thought.

Opening her eyes immediately to the sound of the guards voice, she looked at him a little startled. His voice was rather harsh, and it dawned on her that she did speak to the doctor when she was told not to. "Didn't we tell you not to speak to him!"

"I know! I'm sorry!", she quickly apologized while looking down submissively. Her eyes were closed as her hair fell around her face. "I was just worried that something was going to happen!"

Colette cautiously looked up at the guard who was silently looking at her, as his hands were firmly holding the firearm. The silence seemed to continue which made her feel uncomfortable, she slowly looked back at the other guard who was silent as well. Her eyes were quick to look forward as the guard in front of her spoke. "Just make sure it doesn't happen again!"

With those curt words did the guard begin walking again, and of course she followed him obediently. The sounds of their footsteps were so profound upon the tiled flooring that they walked on. Colette knew that they were getting closer to her cell, and she was ready to take a nap after what had happened today.

Her ears were then quick to pick up on the words that the guard behind her was saying. "I don't know why that doctor is so keen on talking to her?"

His words made her look back at him lightly for she definitely was curious about it as well. She looked in front of her when the leading guard spoke up in his reply, "He probably wants to use her. Pfft, strange bastard."

The two guards continued their small conversation with her there, as she was listening to them silently. She really wanted to say something about it, but she held back her tongue. Clearly the reason why she wasn't saying anything, was cause she probably wouldn't get an answer from them. They would most likely tell her to be quiet anyway.

Finally reaching her cell, one of the guards opened the door for her and she was quick to walk inside without a word spoken. As she looked back curiously at the door, did she watch the door close up behind her.

Heaving a sigh, Colette walked over to the bed and sat down on it with her eyes closed. She was very tired from everything that had happened today, which really wasn't much. Perhaps it was her thoughts and fears that drained her so? She honestly didn't know, so she was quick to get into bed and lay there while looking up at the ceiling in thought. Colette really wanted to get out of there, for she really was missing out on so much from school.

There was no way that she could call them either, for the place that she was in didn't have any phones that she could see. Plus if they did have them, then she wouldn't be allowed to use them. It was just so strange to her, for this place was some kind of prison so to speak. Colette was constantly being monitored by two guards at most, and from what she could see was that she was being watched, due to their being a camera in her cell. The camera was in the left corner of her cell, and was pointed directly at her watching her every move. Just being watched by that camera made her feel so alienated, for it was like the people there didn't fully trust her.

Closing her eyes slowly did she decide to take a nap, and with any luck she could quickly hear back from Dr. Cade really soon.

****

The sound of voices coming from outside of her door, soon caught her attention. Slowly did she open her eyes from her sleep as she sat up to look at the door in confusion. Colette was convinced that these voices were very different from the normal guards. As she continued to look at the door silently, did she rub her eyes of any sleep that remained on them.

These voices kept on for a solid fifteen minutes, and not once did the door open. Throughout this time, Colette began to feel rather scared. Something was about to happen, she was absolutely sure of it.

As the door finally made the sound of it opening, did her heart beat increase in uncertainty. Her eyes were locked onto the door the entire time for she did not dare to look away. Just who was those people who were speaking right now?

None of them sounded familiar to her, which terrified her more.

Colette's heart soon skipped a beat to the sound of a new but familiar voice, that belonged to Dr. Cade. Her fear was quick to decrease when she saw Dr. Cade opening the door further, so that she could walk into the room. "Colette?"

"Yes?" was the quick reply from a relieved Colette, who was sitting on the side of her bed.

Dr. Cade looked at her and soon smiled professionally while holding her clipboard to her chest. "How are we feeling today?", asked Dr. Cade as she walked into the room and sat down beside Colette.

"I'm okay!" nodded Colette who smiled at the doctor feeling tons better. Yet she couldn't help but glance at the door as the earlier voices that she was hearing, all but faded away down the hall.

Dr. Cade kept her smile as she placed the clipboard onto her lap, she looked at Colette before speaking. "Your blood work has not come back yet, and the same with your mothers. But it seems that something definitely happened today?"

Colette looked greatly disappointed about not hearing her or her mother's results yet, but her eyes did grow wide to what Dr. Cade said afterwards. Tilting her head to the side curiously did she ask. "What happened?"

Dr. Cade looked at her for a moment longer before looking down at the clipboard in her lap. She was not smiling anymore either. "Some of the higher ups would like you to help them out with something?"

Blinking her eyes in both confusion and curiosity, did Colette wait for her to continue. The expression on the doctors face also made her feel worried, for her stomach began to twist and turn in a odd way.

"I told you before to not talk with that dangerous doctor, but it seems that the higher ups have different plans?", finished Dr. Cade as she closed her eyes and sighed. "They think that you could get more out of him than other people could?"

Colette was quite stunned by the words from Dr. Cade, she looked at her in disbelief as well. "Uh why do they think that?", inquired Colette softly with her response. "I mean I know he seems interested in me, but I don't think...?"

Dr. Cade looked at her silently, "I know. But that is what they want."

Colette felt so very nervous at that very moment, and she was even more so terrified. Softly she hugged herself while looking at Dr. Cade silently, as her heart beat increased within her chest. "S-so what am I suppose to do?", soon asked Colette once the right words formed within her head.

Dr. Cade looked at her before nodding while softly handing her a clipboard, which was full with different questions. "Just ask him these questions, and if you do really well then both you and your mother could be on early leave."

Early leave!?!, beamed Colette's mind immediately once she had heard those words. That lingering feeling of motivation that she had felt a while ago, came right back but was stronger than ever. "I ask him these questions and I can leave!?!"

Dr. Cade was quick to smile as she nodded softly, she could clearly see the strength that Colette had. "Yes!, but I am sure they want you to do a lot of those questions first before that happens?"

Colette was very keen on listening to the words from Dr. Cade, for if everything that she had said was true then her and her mother could finally leave and return to their normal lives. Silently she looked at the clipboard at the various questions that it held upon it. Her eyes were even quick to skim the questions as well, to try and get a better understanding of them. "I think I can do this?", spoke Colette as she looked at the doctor some what confidently. She had to be confident for it was her and her mother's life on the line.

Not knowing what was going on within this place, only pushed her more to try and find a way to save her mother. That was the only reason why she agreed to do this.

Dr. Cade was quick to nod with her professional smile now a full blown grin. She stood up immediately and looked at Colette swiftly with new found energy. "Splendid!, do you wish to come with me and tell him that he will be seeing more of you?"

Colette blinked quickly at her words in sudden realization, and right away she felt nervous again. She knew that he would be very happy about it, but at the same time she was worried about it. If he was dangerous then she was practically throwing herself in harms way. Having been feeling confident not to long ago was now replaced with dread. Closing her eyes and trying everything to calm herself, did Colette take a deep breath before nodding. "Let's go."

****

With that finally decided did Colette follow Dr. Cade to meet the dangerous doctor, and as they walked down the hall leading to his cell did plenty of questions swirl around her head. He did seem interested in her when she first came here, and he was greatly pleased in finding out her name.

Yet the words that were earlier shared between both guards did make her think a tad bit differently. He probably was trying to use her for all she knew?, but when he showed great dislike to her being roughly pulled away just made her feel undoubtably happy. Colette honestly didn't really know what to think of that man, who wears a white porcelain mask.

Colette's eyes shifted to look toward that familiar cell that he was in, the moment she saw it did her heart beat unbelievably fast. Just how would he react?, would he be elated again to see her?

Those questions were answered, the moment she saw him look directly towards her way after having put something down.

"Ah, Colette!, it's good to see you again!"

She watched him stand up straight in a rather poised manner. His attention was firmly upon her and her presence, as he watched her come closer. Dr. Cade was standing a good ways back from Colette, which made her feel a little exposed. Dr. Cade probably did that as not to distract either of them as they spoke.

"I'm glad that you like seeing me, but uh why is that?", asked Colette curiously while holding the clipboard in her hands. She was looking at his eyes and he was looking right back at hers.

"You intrigue me quite strongly, Colette. Tell me, what is your profession?"

Colette couldn't believe how quickly he was to respond to her, he didn't even delay with his words. Even his posture seemed to be very relaxed as he looked at her from the other side of the glass wall that kept them apart. "I am actually trying to be a doctor, I guess you can say I'm in training?"

"Ah! I see! You are training to become a doctor! Then perhaps I can help aid you?"

His words were filled with so much joy, and his voice was utterly friendly as he chuckled afterwards. Colette merely nodded with a small smile, and that only made him chuckle more as if honored. She then took notice of him shifting to pick up a black thick leather journal, as he skillfully opened it.

Colette's eyes were so focused on the journal in his hands, for the pages that she could see were filled with so many words from front to back of each. She then remembered why her and Dr. Cade walked there in the first place. "Oh I almost forgot! You and I will be seeing more of each other from now on?"

To her words did she watch him stop what he was doing and he looked at her quite calmly. She then blinked in surprise for he laughed in strong elation, as his eyes closed. Just that reaction alone made her think that he was smiling right behind the mask.

"Wonders never cease! I am so pleased to hear it! I can help aid in your training so much faster then!"

Colette could only smile at him and how happy he was, though they were separated by the wall, she could feel the happiness radiating from him. "Please teach me well!"

He quickly nodded to her words as his eyes opened, for his words that he spoke were earnest. "I shall! I will teach you everything that I know and in time you will be an excellent doctor like myself!"

The way he looked at her just showed how serious he was with his work, and he really wanted to help aid her in anyway that he could so that she could be a good doctor. He honestly didn't seem all that bad to her, and since she was talking more than before with him, was he beyond happy.

Colette somewhat jumped to a hand touching her shoulder for she didn't expect it, she was then quick to calm down for it was Dr. Cade. Looking at her did Dr. Cade smile to Colette. "Shall we go ahead to the next room then?"

Colette nodded obediently, but looked back at him as he nodded while speaking up. "I will be there."

Nodding to him with a small smile did Colette follow after Dr. Cade without any delay. Colette softly glanced at Dr. Cade at first, before looking at her curiously as she said. "It completely amazes me how differently he acts with you."

"Really?" asked Colette now genuinely curious. "Is he not like that with other people?"

Dr. Cade looked at her while the two of them walked alongside each other, "He usually is cordial with others, but quickly he becomes greatly agitated if pushed to far. Recently however he has changed in his views, and is now classified as dangerous due to him having changed."

Colette was taken back by her words, her eyes showed slight confusion however. "How did he change exactly?"

Dr. Cade stopped in front of a door which was the room that they were going to. She looked at Colette as she said her reply, "He wants to basically kill us, and won't hesitate to do so."

"Oh..." was the concerned response from Colette for she was now looking down, quite shaken up about what Dr. Cade had said. She looked back up at the sound of the door opening, for Dr. Cade opened the door and walked inside. Colette was not to far behind, as she entered what looked like an interrogation room. But there was a vast glass wall before them, which looked into another large room with one table and chair within it.

Colette felt like she was in some kind of strange movie right now, but this wasn't a movie for everything was far too real.

****

Sitting there silently as they waited, Colette looked down at the clipboard at the questions again. She was quick to pick up on something that was on the clipboard. SCP-049?, was that his name?

That was a strange name if so?

Then again it could be some kind of prison number or code?, she honestly didn't know. Her eyes then lifted up at the sound of a door opening, and she blinked for two guards brought 049 inside the room that they were looking into. But her eyes saw the chains and locks that were on 049, and she was quite surprised by it. She understood that he was dangerous, but wasn't what he was wearing a bit to much?

Colette was quick to notice something though, for 049 didn't even look all that bothered by it. He just walked into the room while holding his head high, in what she thought was confidence. Never had she seen someone like him before in her life, and the fact that he was cordial to her greatly puzzled her.

Her thoughts and emotions were all over the place, for it was heavily mixed up with other things that were going on through her head.

Dr. Cade soon gained her attention for she was at the door, and seeing that scared Colette a bit. Colette looked at her silently and Dr. Cade smiled at her in hopes that it would reassure her. "Just ask him those questions and write down everything okay?"

Colette looked at the clipboard and picked up a pen that was on the table that she was sitting at. "O-okay?", Colette was still uncertain about this. She didn't even know if he would be more willing to share things with her.

"I will be back in a while to check on you." reassured Dr. Cade again. "If anything happens there is a button underneath the table okay?"

Colette nodded while glancing at 049, who was sitting at the table and chair in the opposite room. He was awaiting for her to speak to him which made her feel so out of place. But she had to do this for her to be able to leave with her mother.

Dr. Cade left not long after, which meant that it was only her and 049 now. Colette looked at the microphone that was in front of her, she then flipped it on before speaking. "Can you hear me?"

"I can hear you quite well.", replied 049 in a light chuckle. He was sitting where he was, quite comfortably. Just seeing how relaxed he was made Colette feel a little better.

"Good! I honestly haven't done anything like this before so I am so sorry if I am bad at it!", apologized Colette who softly smiled while laughing a little bit. His words in reply however caught her attention, "It is quite alright. Please take your time."

Colette looked at him in light surprise, for he spoke in that quiet tone again. She was even more surprised that she could hear it, and that the microphone picked it up. She softly nodded toward him in appreciation. "Thank you for understanding."

049 merely returned the gesture with a nod of his own, his eyes were keenly focused on where her eyes were at as well. Colette could feel his gaze on her from where he sat, for his attention was locked onto her presence. She held up the clipboard to look at the first question, before looking at him curiously.

He was sitting at that lone chair and table, with his head held high to look at her. Not once did he look uncomfortable or bothered by this. Did he really find her presence comforting to him?

Just what did he think of her?

"Okay so the first question is...", she blinked taking notice of his light laughter which caught her off guard. Colette glanced up at him curiously, and saw that he was staring at her quite strongly now. It was then that she felt a sense of unease, as he finished his laughter.

"I apologize for laughing so suddenly, I am well aware of what you are going to ask."

"Oh yeah?" asked Colette as she watched him nod in response. She sort of smiled, though she felt strong cold chills go down her back.

"Yes. I told them before that they are not men of science. Time and time again, they have shown that they are blinded by their emotions and can't see what I am offering them."

Colette felt herself being drawn in by his words, for he was talking to her in a rather calm manner. She had remembered what Dr. Cade had said, about him becoming easily agitated. He did show great agitation to the guards, due to their treatment of her. But that quickly vanished the moment she had said her name. Slowly she nodded in hopes of showing that she was still paying attention. "What are you offering?, I honestly want to know about it! It is unfortunate that they don't want to accept it, but I support it!"

The chills that she was feeling only grew stronger as she heard him laugh, for her response seemed to have greatly please him. "Ah! Wonders abound! You seem to be the only one to understand! What I offer is the perfect cure."

Colette's expression was so full of both uncertainty and surprise, for he honestly said that she understood him. She was still feeling uneasy, but didn't want to show it. So instead she smiled as she softly nodded at him, "That sounds amazing! I honestly believe that you can accomplish such a feat!" Course something like that sounded to good to be true, but she honestly believed that he was a good doctor. After all that journal that she had seen, had so many words within it. She didn't doubt that he was a capable doctor, for he had a journal of his findings. His journal reminded her of her mother, for she had done the same thing with writing things into her own journal.

She watched him after saying what she had, and what she heard next was more laughter. His shoulders lightly shook as he done so, for he was fully elated. "It pleases me to hear that, Colette. I believe that in time the two of us will be able to show everyone that cure."

Colette kept her smile while nodding as she looked at the clipboard again, she then felt a little worried about it. If she didn't even ask him these questions, wouldn't that ruin her and her mother's chances to leave? Those thoughts were quick to scare her, and it was obviously clear that 049 could see that she was scared.

"Do not fear, Colette. Please go ahead and ask me some questions."

049's words were very understanding while keeping them in the same calm tone, which was probably done to soothe her. Those words really did help calm her down some, for she looked at him with a smile. "Even though you know them already?"

She watched him as he nodded, for his gaze never once strayed away from her eyes. It was so perplexing to her, that he was so drawn in by both her words and her presence. The way he talks to her, and reacts to her was just something that she wasn't use to. Colette was also reminded that he was like that of a moth and she was the flame, for he was strongly pulled in by her completely oblivious to the danger of dissolving from the heat.

"It doesn't matter if I know them or not, what matters is that we can continue to see each other. So go ahead and ask them, and I will answer them again like I have never heard them before."

Why?, asked her mind as he finished speaking. She honestly didn't understand him or his motives, plus she was actually starting to like talking to him. Even if he makes her feel uncomfortable and uneasy, he genuinely wants to continue seeing her. 049 was someone so different to her, and try as she might to get to know him, her mind simply can't fathom him completely. "Okay.", finally nodded Colette softly as she looked at him.

"What is your purpose?" asked Colette softly while asking a question from the clipboard, she then looked directly at him curiously.

"To rid the world of the Pestilence once and for all. This horrible plague will continue showing everyone such unspeakable horrors until I can finish the perfect cure."

049 replied swiftly to the question that was asked of him, and never once did he take his eyes off of Colette who was seated opposite of him, in the other room separated by glass. Colette who was listening to him speak, began writing down his response as she nodded softly with a smile.

Colette continued to ask him the questions on the clipboard, and 049 responded to them without delay and in a relatively calm manner. With every question that she asked, Colette began to somewhat understand him more. She definitely felt how earnest he was, to the words that he said to her. Before she knew it, she actually had finished all of the questions on the clipboard in record timing. "Oh it looks like we are done!" exclaimed Colette in astonishment.

"So it would seem." chuckled 049 at the reaction from Colette. Her reaction definitely caught his attention and he couldn't help but lightly laugh at it.

Colette looked at him with a smile while also feeling funny, cause just moments ago she had doubted that he would tell her anything. But on the contrary did he actually say a whole bunch of things, and didn't hesitate. Since they were done, she figured it was alright to simply chat with him until Dr. Cade returns. "Thank you for cooperating with me!"

049 nodded to her words fully accepting them, "Of course."

She smiled toward him as she was organizing the papers that she had written on, which held all of his answers to each question she had asked. Colette then asked him curiously, "How long have you had that journal?"

"I have quite a few journals that hold intensive information on all of my findings. But the one you speak of has been with me for a very long time." 049 laughed a bit afterward as Colette looked at him curiously with interest.

"I would like to look at it sometime, only if it is okay with you though?", replied Colette softly with a smile. He must of had so much information about all kinds of various medicines. Her eyes soon went wide in faint surprise to his laughter, but his words that followed suit were quite cordial. "That is quite alright, actually since we have sometime?

049's cuffed hands shifted toward the doctors bag which was on his person, and he calmly pulled out the leather journal from the bag. "Why don't I share some of my findings with you!"

Colette watched him pull the journal out of his bag, and place it down in front of him on the table he was sitting at. The journal from what she could see was well taken care of, with some light wear upon its cover. She now understood the journals age, or had better understanding of how long he has had it. She nodded to him, "That would be great! Thank you!"

049 merely laughed some to her kindness, as he opened the journal which was within his black gloved hands. "Oh Colette, it is quite alright." His laughter waned as soon as his eyes were fixed on the contents within his journal. The subtle sounds of him flipping through pages were picked up by the microphone, which was in the next room.

Colette could hear each page flip from the journal as she watched him look inside his journal. She took note of how serious he was as he looked at each page. Not wanting to interrupt him, she politely waited for him to say something. From what she could gather, he was looking for something in particular within the journal.

049 knew that she was a doctor in training, so she assumed he was looking for something that she could understand.

****

It took a little while before he finally said something, his words were even apologetic. "I apologize, Colette. But it seems that I must...Ah!", as if an idea struck him at that moment did he look at her. "I will put together a special journal for you about the different findings within my journals in which you can understand."

Colette smiled in response to him, "I would like that. I really am interested in your findings!"

049 merely laughed as his eyes closed. "My findings will educate you well!"

It was at this moment that Dr. Cade returned for she entered the room, she smiled professionally at Colette who looked at her with a smile. "So did it go well?"

Nodding softly Colette handed her the clipboard with everything on it. "Yeah! Hopefully I did a good job?"

Dr. Cade took the clipboard and looked through the first two pages, and her smile grew into a grin once she saw more pages. "I will say you did an excellent job!", she looked at Colette who smiled in relief while looking at 049 who was quietly watching them.

Colette softly looked at 049 with a smile and he merely nodded in her direction. She then blinked as Dr. Cade walked to the door while looking back at Colette. "I say today was a job well done? Are you ready to head back to your cell?"

Colette softly stood up. "Yeah."

"I shall see you tomorrow then, Colette?", asked 049 as he watched Colette and Dr. Cade look at him curiously at the same time.

Dr. Cade merely nodded to Colette when she looked at her in question, once she had gotten confirmation did Colette smile as she nodded to 049. "Yep! Oh! I am also looking forward to when you make me that journal!"

"Of course. I will compile it in a few days time and give it to you.", replied 049 accordingly while nodding.

Colette smiled at him as she turned off the microphone, she then watched the guards go within the room and escort 049 out of it. Dr. Cade looked at Colette for sometime before asking, "What exactly is he making you?"

"Just a journal of his findings in which I can understand? I am a doctor in training so every little bit helps while I'm missing school?", replied Colette softly as she walked up to Dr. Cade who was standing outside of the room.

Dr. Cade was silent for a moment and was in deep thought before walking in the direction of Colette's cell, "Come along then."

Colette obediently followed after her feeling like she had accomplished something rather great. She did do a good job with the task that was given to her. If she keeps this up, her and her mother will be out of there before she knew it.
