Chapter 5

24/9/08

I woke up today feeling rather sick, but got up anyway and saw my overnight bag at the end of the bed. There was no bathroom to take a shower in the basement so I went up nearly trampling Penny in the process. She had come down to give me food. She gave me a glass and I almost gagged, it was red. at first, I thought it was ketchup but the realization hit me like a bullet and I recognized it as blood similar to the stains painting the sheets downstairs. I asked Penny what it was and she said food! That's it I can't take this anymore I'm done being in the dark all the time.

I told Penny I wasn't hungry whereas I was dying of starvation inside and asked where Pitch was. She told me he had gone out. Great! Just what I needed; I thanked her and went to the third floor to find the coven leader sitting in his office with an unreadable expression. He looked up and was surprised to see me, I asked him if he knew where the bathroom is, he told me where it was but said that "vampires don't need to take a shower" I ignored that remark and moved on to freshen up.

Later on, that afternoon penny insisted on taking me outside to get some sunlight, usually, I would have said no but staying in the dark creepy basement has made me crave the sunlight, therefore I agreed. She took me to a nearby park which was hidden between thick trees, it was one of the most magnificent parks I've ever seen, there were cherry blossoms trees and a huge fountain in the middle. There was a crystal clear river with a designed wooden bridge over it. There were flocks of swans int the river and a few flew above our heads. We hung out and played for some time then went back. On arriving back I saw Pitch and the coven leader waiting for us. They told me to sit down on the couch and sent Penny upstairs. After she left they joined me.

" look I'm sorry for not answering your questions but we need your help and I guess it's only fair if you know what we need you for"

for the first time since I've been here, I saw the coven leader look sorry!! I nodded

" so apparently a few hundred years ago our coven was a big one- one of the biggest in the world we had all the strongest, most powerful vampires ever, but of course power comes with consequences. We were so many, that slowly we started to run out of humans to feed on and had to rely on human food-which isn't as helpful as human blood"

Ok.. that was human blood! Who the hell drinks innocent human blood I dread to think which human that was from. I shudder at the thought. I am brought back from my dreadful thoughts by pitch

"so there were fights for blood by our kind we started killing each other it was chaos, most of us were dead- gone"

"During that time there was a prophecy that there would be one vampire born hundreds of years from now who will bring peace to the supernatural world, you might've guessed this but the prophecy is about you. You're the vampire who will save us. So I am sorry but the only way to help mankind and our kind, is to sacrifice your blood."I must've looked horrified because Pitch gives me a reassuring smile but instead of comforting me it frightens me more I look at the coven leader for an answer but he is sneaking a knife out of his pocket. He threw it. but Penny somehow appeared in front of me and took the blade for herself. I cried "no!! Penny!!" as tears forced themselves out of my eyes. I held her close...
