Chapter 1

When night time fell and the wooden cabins sunk into deep, quiet slumber, the silver moon saw a hunchback man move his flashlight around while on patrol. The fluffy clouds floated across the starless sky and the moonlight beams radiated upon the world.

Footsteps, cricket sounds and owl hooting echoed all over the place. The cool air was spreading like wildfire, and it smelt really fresh and good.

With a little bit of fog everywhere, it was hard to see where the footsteps were as it was covering up the mud on the ground. Seeing no one around, the hunchback man turned to one of the cabins and walked around it.

Lurking from the shadow was a little girl watching the hunchback man patrolling around one of the cabins, peeking from the corridor. She moved her eyes sideways, then turned to the other girls behind her.

"Okay, is everybody ready to go?" The little girl asked in a whisper.

The other girls shook their heads and another girl with glasses turned to the little girl. "Yep, I think everybody's good to go, Aisla," the same girl whispered back.

Aisla turned back to the scene and checked for the hunchback man. She smirked when she didn't see him so far. "That's good, Sophia, 'cause we're gettin' outta this place. Let's go!"

Aisla quietly, yet quickly dashed her way forward. Her eyes were on alert, looking back and forth in case she saw the hunchback man again. She was happy she didn't see him so far.

She stopped by the cabin entrance near a fence and stood there, waiting for others to arrive. Sophia led the other girls to escape, both hiding whenever they saw the hunchback man patrolling around the next cabin, and leading them to run for their lives when the hunchback man wasn't around.

'Okay, looks like everything's goin' good so far, I can't wait to get outta this "summer camp"' was Aisla's first thought that came to her mind. She couldn't contain her excitement to escape this caged prison.

Once every other girl escaped, Sophia was the last one to do so. Finding the hunchback man out of sight, patrolling around the fourth cabin, Sophia closed her eyes a bit and took a deep breath before crossing.

Sophia slowly snuck her way forward in caution, looking back and forth. Aisla and the other girls could sense fear in her eyes.

While the other girls whispered to one another, Aisla ignored them and still watched Sophia tip toed her way forward, being on a lookout for the hunchback man. She sighed with her deep breath and mouth shut.

'C'mon, Sophia, c'mon, girl. Hurry! We don't have time for this.'

Sophia advanced further until her feet felt something. "Whoa!" She tripped over a rock and fell right into the mud. The mud splashed all over her body and vibrated throughout the area.

"Huh?" The hunchback man's voice echoed behind Sophia. "It's those girls trying to escape again, especially that Aisla one. I bet she's behind it."

The other girls behind Aisla gasped quietly, whispering amongst each other further. Aisla looked at the direction of the hunchback man's voice and Sophia back and forth with her serious face.

'Oh man. You can't be serious...'

The hunchback man's footsteps were coming his way and Sophia sat up from the ground. Aisla saw nothing but mud all over Sophia's face except her eyes.

'I better go get her before that witch's henchman catches us. I can't imagine her cooking up and eating some children here, let alone going back to that solidary confinement place.'

Swallowing her spit, Aisla rushed her way towards Sophia and watched Sophia put her glasses back on, which were now covered in mud as Sophia wiped it off of her glasses. Aisla's heart pounded on her chest hard and fast from fear, with sweat began to form on her forehead.

"C'mon, Sophia, c'mon! Get up already, will ya?! We're gonna get caught soon," Aisla whispered while helping Sophia up from the ground.

"I'm trying to, Aisla. I'm trying," Sophia whispered back.

As soon as the flashlight was shone on Aisla and Sophia, Aisla gasped and quickly turned her head towards the henchman. 'Oh, man! We've been caught red handed! We need to get outta here now!'

"Ha! There you are!" The henchman grinned at Aisla and Sophia while flashing his flashlight at them. "I knew you two have been trying to escape"-he then turned to Aisla-"especially you, Aisla. Just you wait until I get a hold out of you."

Aisla turned to the other girls and said, "Run and don't scream!"

The other girls shivered and widened their eyes before turning around and ran for their lives. They separated themselves from one another and searched anywhere for a place to hide.

Then the henchman pulled out a whistle out of his shirt and blew it, alerting the other henchmen like him of the girls' escape. He then went after Aisla and Sophia while they ran for their lives and searched for a way to lose him.

While Aisla and Sophia ran, they wandered their eyes around and heard the girls scream the moment they saw the other henchmen capturing them. Aisla and Sophia searched for anything in sight on how to lose the henchman after them, everywhere to hide. Yet all efforts failed.

Aisla turned to Sophia and questioned, "Have you found anything to lose this guy, or even a place to hide yet?"

Sophia turned back to Aisla and responded, "No, not so far."

Seeing every girl captured, Aisla and Sophia stopped moving and watched. They took a look around and were desperate to find a way to lose the henchman after them and find a place to hide. They frowned when they realized that all hope was lost and couldn't escape from their situation.

Once the henchman finally caught up to them, they turned around and gasped whenever they looked up at him. He turned to another henchman and pushed Sophia towards him while grabbing Aisla's arm. "Here, take her!"

"Got ya!" Another henchman said when he caught Sophia into his arms.

The henchman looked down at Aisla and said, "And you are coming with me. I think you know a special punishment for you." He dragged Aisla forward and took her to a special punishing place, which was solitary confinement.
