Chapter 1 Fun

"Hey luck what are you doing!" "Huh what do you mean" "Its 7:15 "were gonna be late!" "Oh shit" .... "Phew barely made it!" "How are you ha not out of ha breath" "Cause I'm excited lets go see if we got elements" What did he mean by that well first let me give you some background information. The one whose been yelling the whole time is best friend Gerard we've been best friends since grade 1 where we met. Now on to the main topic of your confusion what is he talking about when he says "let's see if we got elements" well to put it as simply as possible elements begin to form at around the age of 13 right now I'm currently 12 and Gerard is 13 so we can take this test its rare for them to start developing at the age of 14 but not impossible, but 15 is. But how do you find out if it started developing at 12, 13, or 14 well I'll tell you Its because our technology has improved by a lot since elements were first gifted to us by the Gods so naturally we were able to make machines that can find Elemental DNA in our bodies so now whenever you turn 12, 13, or 14 you take the test. Now why am I talking to myself like I'm talking to an audience because it's my dream to be the main character in a story. I'm not talking about a action or sci-fi story I'm talking about a slice of life story about me hanging it with my friends and family. So naturally I'm hoping me and Gerard don't get elements. "Number 176" "Oh that's me when I come back I'm gonna be an Elemental" I hope you aren't. " You better, Good luck" Of course I hope he doesn't but I can never tell him that he'd probably hate me if I did. .... Oh he's coming back and... he looks sad so he didn't get one YES! of course I only said that in my head. "Sit down right there while the machine scans you" "okay" of course I was a little nervous but not too nervous that it would show on my f- "Grey?" huh "Grey never seen this one before have you Amara" "No I haven't must be an original" what are they talking about there no way I got one right I mean Gerard didn't so why would I. "So kid your an Elemental and your element is Grey. We don't know what the element does but you'll probably find out at the academy" my heart sank in to my stomach, I out of all people got one, the one person on this planet that didn't want one got one. Why. What did I do to anger the gods. Why me? I went back out there pretending to be happy and said I was an Elemental to Gerard he congratulated me with his eyes red he was most likely crying a minute ago we walked back to our houses together were I told my family and they began celebrating that I was an Elemental "My son is gonna be one the worlds strongest men" My dad exclaimed "Honey we need to get you packed you have to go to Elemental Academy soon don't you" My mom asked me and my little brother was just celebrating talking about how "I'll be famous.". Now this was the hardest part I had to tell them I wasn't gonna go. It used to be you had to go but now the Elemental's get to choose and I was gonna choose no my parents, my brother, Gerard would all probably be mad at me but nothing else matters to me besides them so I couldn't go. "About that Mom and Dad" "Ya?" " I decided t-to not go to Elemental Academy" "huh What! Why!" My dad couldn't help but scream and I couldn't even pretend to smile anymore in fact I was about to cry "Because living here with you guys... is too much fun" I said those words with a tear rolling down my face. I dissapointed everything I cared about. I ran up to my room and just cried, cried until I fell asleep.
