Chapter 14: Nine Needles for Communicating with Gods

The members of the Qin family, all talking over each other, barely acknowledged Chen Feng.

The main doctor next to them also suggested solemnly, "My advice is not to bother the old lady any further."

"The doctor has a point," said a tired-looking middle-aged man, weakly agreeing.

"Dad, do you remember the story I once told you? About a little girl who had stopped breathing but was brought back to life. That time, it was Chen Feng who saved her," Qin Luoyin hurriedly added.

The middle-aged man looked startled upon hearing this, his eyes surveying Chen Feng anew.

Chen Feng said calmly, "If we start the treatment now, I'm 90% sure I can bring her back from the brink of death. She should be able to live another year or two. But if we wait any longer, even divine intervention wouldn't help."

"Tough talk, boy. Don't think you can easily swindle the Qin family's money," scoffed a young man in black.

"Qin He, shut up!" Qin Luoyin shot him a harsh glare.

Qin He's face hardened, then angrily retorted, "Qin Luoyin, you bring in some random schmuck to save our grandmother. Can you handle the responsibility if he fails?"

"I will take responsibility. I swear on my life that if I can't save grandma, I will jump off the top of this hospital building as an apology, okay?" Qin Luoyin retorted coldly.

"Very well, I'll be waiting," Qin He sneered.

Chen Feng was taken aback and then somewhat moved. He hadn't expected Qin Luoyin to trust him so much.

"Go ahead, giving it a try wouldn't hurt," Qin Luoyin's father, Qin Shan, spoke with a heavy voice.

At this point, Qin Shan was also holding onto the last sliver of hope, seeing this as a last-ditch effort to save his mother.

As the head of the family, Qin Shan had given Chen Feng the go-ahead even with all the objections. No one else dared to utter another word.

"Everyone except Luoyin needs to leave the room," Chen Feng commanded seriously.

The healing method he was about to use was not meant for others to witness and, more importantly, Chen Feng didn't want to be disturbed during the process.

"Everyone, please step out," said Qin Shan, standing up to leave the room first.

The doctor wanted to say something but ended up just sighing and also exiting the room.

"Boy, if you fail to save my grandmother, you're going to pay," Qin He threatened Chen Feng before leaving.

Chen Feng showed no reaction.

He agreed to be here to honor Qin Luoyin. He was doing this regardless of whatever the other Qin family members thought.

Soon, only Qin Luoyin and Chen Feng were left in the room.

"Is there anything I need to do?" Qin Luoyin asked cautiously.

"Silver needles," Chen Feng replied.

"Give me two minutes!" Qin Luoyin rushed out of the room.

About two minutes later, Qin Luoyin returned with silver needles, handing them to Chen Feng.

Chen Feng took the silver needles, took a deep breath, and began his work.

As the first needle fell, Qin Luoyin's eyes widened in surprise.

Because she saw a golden light flash around the spot where the needle entered.

Then Chen Feng quickly and continuously inserted needles at different spots on the body.

By the ninth needle, Chen Feng's face had turned pale, his hand trembled slightly, and sweat covered his forehead.

Seeing this, Qin Luoyin immediately took her sleeve and gently wiped away Chen Feng's sweat, unaffected by it.

After a deep breath, Chen Feng finally inserted the ninth needle.

The moment the ninth needle fell, the old woman on the bed lit up with a radiant light, especially glow on her forehead and chest was particularly dazzling, emitting a strong life force.

Qin Luoyin was stupefied. This was completely beyond her comprehension.

"It's done," said Chen Feng, removing the needles and letting out a sigh of relief.

"How is it going?" Qin Luoyin asked nervously.

"Kiss me, and I'll tell you." Chen Feng joked.

Though Chen Feng meant this in jest, Qin Luoyin immediately cradled Chen Feng's head with both hands and lightly pecked him on the forehead.

The soft and delicate touch momentarily stunned Chen Feng.

"Little Luoyin, is this young man your boyfriend?"

A slightly raspy voice suddenly rang out without warning.

"Ah..."

Startled, Qin Luoyin turned and saw that her grandmother had woken up.

"What do you mean, 'Ah'?! You rascal, got a boyfriend and didn't even tell your old granny. You've become disobedient!"

Qin Luoyin's grandmother, a cheeky-looking old lady, looked somewhat resentful as she eyed Chen Feng.

"Grandma, do you feel unwell anywhere?" Qin Luoyin hurriedly asked, putting everything else aside.

"I feel great, as if I've just become ten years younger. This hospital is pretty nice."

"It's not that the hospital is good, Grandma. It's him who saved you, his name is Chen Feng."

Qin Luoyin pointed at Chen Feng.

Qin Luoyin was utterly shocked.

A person who was certain to die had actually been brought back to life by Chen Feng.

Remembering the sight of Chen Feng applying the acupuncture, Qin Luoyin's heart could not stop pounding.

"Young man, thank you for saving me. Are you Luoyin's boyfriend?" Old lady looked at Chen Feng.

"I'm not." Chen Feng shook his head and smiled. "Now that you're awake, Grandma, you should eat something. Take care of your health and you should make a full recovery."

"Enough of that." The old lady glared at Chen Feng. "I saw my precious granddaughter kissing you. Aren't you guys boyfriend and girlfriend? Boy, are you planning to abandon my granddaughter after having your fun?"

"I didn't do that." Chen Feng didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"Still denying it?! Luoyin, get Granny's walking stick. I've got to teach this fickle boy on behalf of you!"

The old lady was livid.

"Granny, please calm down, easy..."

Qin Luoyin quickly tried to pacify her grandmother.

She was afraid Granny might have another attack in her agitation.

"Granny, I was just kidding earlier. Don't worry, I will be good to Luoyin," Chen Feng said with a smile.

"That's more like it."

All of a sudden, the old lady's anger disappeared, and her face broke into a happy smile.

Qin Luoyin looked at Chen Feng with unexpected tenderness in her eyes.

She hadn't expected Chen Feng to help soothe her grandmother's emotions in this manner!

"Qin Shan, are you all outside? Get in here, I have something to say."

The old lady's voice, suddenly ringing out, was very authoritative.

Hearing the old lady's voice, the Qin family members outside all entered the room instantly. There were probably around a dozen people.

Qin Shan, leading the group, immediately asked for a detailed check-up for the old lady.

The chief doctor, after bowing to Chen Feng, suppressed his excitement and asked respectfully, "May I know your honorable name, sir?"
