"What are you doing here, Natalie?" Terrence couldn't help but ask after seeing Natalie. He knew for sure that Natalie lived far away from their area. So, he was curious why she was suddenly here.
"Ohh… uhm…" Natalie looked at Terrence awkwardly. She didn't know how to answer Terrence. "I was just looking for places where to eat, and I magically landed here…" even she was unsure of her answer.
"Oh, I see." Terrence slowly nodded his head, even if it was obvious that Natalie was just lying.
'Maybe she's here to meet a secret lover or what?' he thought of the possibility as he remembered the reason why they met in the past.
"And no, it's not because I'm meeting someone," Natalie quickly added when she saw the doubt in Terrence's eyes.
Terrence chuckled when he heard the panic in Natalie's voice. "Alright, I believe you." He answered to ease Natalie's worry.
He didn't pry anymore about what Natalie was doing here since he had no reason to. Moreover, he could feel the eyes that William and Edwin were giving to him. Especially the teasing smile that Edwin was proudly flashing.
"Hi there, Miss. I see that you know, Terrence." Edwin greeted Natalie with pure enthusiasm in his voice. He stood up and offered his hands to Natalie.
"Uhm… Hi!" Natalie greeted him back. "Yes, I know, Terrence. He saved me once from danger."
"Ohh, I didn't know Terrence is such a nice guy~," Edwin said the last words in a high-pitched voice.
Terrence tilted his head to the side. It was evident that Edwin was making fun of him
Natalie chuckled. She nodded and smiled. She took a quick glance at Terrence and was surprised when she saw that Terrence was looking at her.
When their eyes met, she quickly diverted her gaze. Her cheeks were slightly reddened. She bit her lower lips before looking down.
The truth was, she was here because she was looking for places where she could bring Terrence. She wanted to find a place where Terrence would be comfortable to eat and would not be shy about the prices.
She knew that it may look weird, but she just wanted to treat Terrence to a nice meal.
However, of course, she wouldn't admit that, so she had to tell a white lie to Terrence. It would be embarrassing to admit that in front of Terrence and his friends.
"Have a seat, Natalie! We just finished eating, but you can order if you want." Edwin, who was lost in the moment, uttered.
"Oh, sure," Natalie answered. She walked on the left side of Terrence and took a seat there.
"I just finished eating, too, so it's fine."
"Are you sure? You can order whatever you like." Edwin said, as if he had forgotten his limited budget.
"Yup. It's really fine." Natalie smiled.
"Are you going home now, Terrence?" Natalie shifted his eyes to Terrence, who was drinking the leftover wine from his glass.
"Maybe later," Terrence looked at the time. It had just been a few minutes since he ordered the food he would bring to his family.
With his estimate, it might take another 10-15 minutes for it to be brought to him.
"Ohh… Do you want to ride with me? I brought my driver here." Natalie's heart was beating fast as she said her offer. Her legs were slightly shaking.
She secretly looked around when Terrence fell silent for a moment. She readied herself to get rejected.
"Sure." Terrence agreed when he thought about it. He doesn't have the energy to walk towards this restaurant to their house. He didn't want to use Ubear, too, since that would still take a long time.
However, of course, he couldn't just ride in Natalie's car for free. That would make it look like he was abusing Natalie's kindness. And, of course, that wouldn't look good for his ego.
"Oh my—" Natalie quickly covered her mouth when she heard Terrence's answer. She looked around and was flustered when she saw all of them laughing at her.
"We will bill out already, then." Edwin grinned after hearing the conversation. "I'll drive you home too, Willian." He glanced at William, who had gotten more quiet when Natalie arrived.
William slowly nodded. "Alright, Boss." He smiled.
Edwin quickly raised his hand for the bill until a waiter went to them.
"I would like to bill out this meal," Edwin gestured to their table.
The waiter looked at Edwin in confusion. "This table is already billed out, Sir."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Edwin's eyes widened. He for sure knew that he still hasn't taken out his wallet.
The waiter nodded. He took out a black device from his pocket and clicked something on it.
"It is said in our system that Mr. Terrence paid for it. "
Terrence awkwardly laughed when everyone's eyes stared at him. Edwin was about to protest when Terrence opened his mouth to say something.
"It's my treat." He uttered.
"Are you sure, Terrence? Our bill is sure expensive!" Edwin pointed out. Even he was scared to know their bill.
Terrence nodded. "Yes. So, no worries. If you keep talking and protesting about it, then I would withdraw my payment." He jokingly threatened.
That made Edwin shut up. Even though he wanted to say something further, he realized the amount of money he would save.
Edwin scratched the back of his head. "We would be going then. I'll make sure to treat you next time."
"Wait, Boss. I will go to the restroom first." William uttered as he stood up. He walked fast as if he was in a panic.
"What happened to him?" Edwin questioned. He was weirded out by how William was acting.
When they were left alone, Terrence found it the opportunity to remind Edwin of something.
"Edwin, I want to say something to you." Terrence's tone was in pure seriousness.
"What is it, Terrence?" Edwin listened in all ears. It was rare for Terrence to say anything like this.
"This may sound weird and all. However, I want you to take care and be wary of William." Terrence glanced at the side to see if anyone was listening to their talk.
"Huh?" Edwin's eyebrows formed a straight line. "But why?" was the question that formed in his head.
Terrence shook his head.
"It's nothing. Just do as I said."
