Chapter 7: There’s more...

As I gazed at the angry aura around Alice I could feel a chill run down my spine. Beyond the door was some unlucky fool that I secretly felt pity for and would soon feel the wrath of Alice. She quickly opened the door and disappeared without a word. I slowly stood up from the bed and made my way over to a pair of clothes that the old man left for me. As I grabbed a black shirt I heard a scream outside followed by a loud boom.

I quickly dressed myself with a pair of pants and worn out boots and ran to the door. Gripping the handle I yanked the door open and saw a chilling sight. Alice was standing in a large open yard with stone walls all around. A cloud of dust surrounded her and a figure laid unmoving by her feet his arms bent at odd angles.

"You bitch!"

I turned toward the sudden voice to see a man standing a few feet away surrounded by armored guards. He was a short man with long black hair, bushy brows and a round face. He wore expensive clothing with shiny black boots and a short red cape. His face was flushed and a little bit of fat was showing underneath the collar of his shirt.

"You dare refuse my marriage proposal...and instead your sleeping with another man!" He yelled pointing a sausage finger in my direction. Alice gazed at the man with such ferocity that the mans face went pale with fear. "Don't point you're finger at him." Alice said the coldness in her voice making the man's face turned another shade of red as he said in a shaky voice.

"Don't..for...forget...that my...father is a baron!" He smiled with a quivering lip and yelled, "Seize that man!" The men clad in armor like knights, withdrew swords from their waist and started moving forward in unison. At that same moment the stone walk to my left exploded into a shower of rocks. I gazed in surprise as another group entered through the large hole. Menacing looking men with the image of bandits strolled in brandishing wicked weapons with muscled bodies and rough features.

"My...My..What's with all of this hostility?"

My gazed moved up to see a woman standing atop the stone wall. She was rather beautiful with black hair, green eyes, rose colored lips, and pale skin. She wore a long silk robe that was somewhat "visible" with a butterfly tattoo on her exposed thigh. She took a step forward and one of the men raised a hand helping the woman down to the ground. She smiled as her feet touched the ground and a fan was placed into her hand by another man. She expanded the fan and placed it below her eyes.

"Don't be mad Alice, it will make you look older in the future." She said in a very sweet voice, but Alice simply frowned at her. "Why are you here Cara?" The woman named Cara smiled behind her fan while her green eyes shinned with mischief. "Come now Alice can't a friend simply meet with another." Alice golden eyes seem to glow brighter and I could feel sweat drip down my back.

"Who's this?" I turned my attention away from Alice and toward Cara who was staring at me intently with her eyes scanning me up and down. As I was about to introduce myself which I believed would have been the best thing to do in this situation. I heard a loud thunderclap and a pair of hands wrapped around my neck feeling my heart almost burst from my chest I looked back to see Alice behind me. She had a angry look in her eyes as her arms tightly wrapped around me in a protective manner.

"Don't you dare think about it!" Alice said, which caused Cara to laugh mischievously. "Whatever do you mean?" I could see Cara's eyes bore into me which sent yet another chill down my spine. I could feel Alice tighten her grip and I peered back and the same time she looked at me. As our eyes locked I could feel her grip gently loosen and a bright smile appeared on her face which suddenly made my heart beat faster. Reaching up I gently placed my hand against her cheek which caused her smile to grow bigger. A sudden cough broke my attention and I looked over to see the giant man from before looking at me with a cheeky grin which made me frown response.

"THIS IS BULLSHIT!" I spun my head around to see the fat man staring at me with bloodshot eyes. "Kill that bastard and bring me his head!" Those words alone caused the knights to charge forward. I felt Alice grab my face and turn me toward her. Then Alice did something that sent butterflies dance around in my stomach. Her lips were gently pressed against mine and I was amazed by how soft they were. After a few seconds she pulled away and a blush covered her cheeks. I stood there dumbfounded and Alice giggled before bring a finger to my lips and said, "Are you going to protect me...hero?" I was silent and in a split second I could hear the sound of a blade whistling through the air.

Without a moments hesitation I wrapped my arms around Alice and jumped back. A knights blade struck the air where my head was and I suddenly felt my body tense up as the rest of the knights charged toward me. Releasing Alice I could feel as if time was slowing down around me as I created forward. The first knight swung downward toward me head, but I quickly sidestepped the attack and without a second though smashed my palm against the knights side. There the loud sound of metal bending and I watched as my palm sunk into the mans armor before sending him flying into another knight with immense speed. This resulted in the other knight to be flung back with his friend before the struck the brick wall with enough force to erupt a could of dust.

I reached out and caught the sword-arm of another knight before slamming my elbow into the mans elbow. There was a loud crack followed by the mans arm bending in a L-shape and a loud scream of pain. Letting the man fall to the ground I gazed at the last two knights to see them suddenly drop their swords and dash away from me and past the fat guy who was staring at me in shock. With shaky legs and fear in his eyes he slowly turned away from me before he himself bolted with a loud scream of terror. I sighed and turned around to suddenly feel someone tackle me to the ground. Feeling the air escape my lungs I looked up to see Alice staring down at me with a beautiful smile. Before I could say anything her lips sealed mine and I could feel her body press against mine which made my heart flutter in my chest.
