"We've come a long way. I've long decided on proposing to you. I love you more than I can ever imagine. Yin, Susu..Will you marry me?" Chen Mu asked after revising his line a bit. Seeing the girl's surprised expression, he nervously waited for her response.

"Chen Mu, I love you too. But I can't accept your proposal. I'm sorry. I can't marry you when my life is on a possible countdown. There is probably what? A year or little bit more than that until Qian Ling's deadline comes. We've searched for her, but ended with no luck. I wish I could be like other brides who are happy to walk down the aisle knowing they have sufficient time to spend a lifetime with their other half."

"But I don't have that confidence at all. Right now, I enjoy spending every second I have with you. These memories are my most cherished treasure. Even if you don't mind, I do. I don't want you to marry me just to see me die. After that, I'm sure you would continue loving me instead of looking for someone else. So, until I am healed, I can't promise anything."

Sighing, Chen Mu stood up with the ring in his hand. "I understand your concern. Even though you've never mentioned it before, I could tell how worried you are with being able to fulfill my happiness. Let me tell you this then. Every time you go to sleep; I would feel scared you wouldn't wake up. It's true I'm also scared."

"But it's also because of this fear that clears my mind entirely about what I want to do. I want to make you my wife even if you might leave me first. You said you are on a countdown, but who isn't? Everyone has a countdown. What if I am the one who dies first? Maybe I'll be the one to go first. These things are unpredictable."

"Therefore, I want to cherish every second I have with you. I want to make you my wife. I want to give you everything of mine while I still can because life is too short for regrets. Nobody knows when our last day would come. I will keep this ring and propose again when you're ready. But I want you to promise me you'll never give up hope."

Closing the jewelry box, he pulled her into his embrace. He knew how complicated thoughts entangle in her mind when she stresses over something. Actually, her answer was an expected response. Regardless, a part of him does feel a little disappointed because he really wanted her to agree.

Who told his heart to fall for this girl? He could only surrender to be a wife-slave even though she hadn't accepted his proposal yet.

"Mm, I promise I won't give up." Her shoulders relaxed after hearing his words. Which girl wouldn't say yes to the person they love dearly? But she couldn't say yes for now. After hugging for a while, Chen Mu released her from his embrace. Cupping her cheeks in his palms, he smiled and pinched her nose.

"I love you so much, silly. So, don't cry and don't apologize to me. Smile! I love seeing your sweet smile. I'll wait until you're ready to be Mrs. Chen. I know this day will definitely come." Sliding one hand to the back of her head, he brought his lips to hers.

From light pecks to passionate kisses, their lips didn't part until it turned numb. Knocking their foreheads together, they let their blissful smile do the talking. Whether they were dating, engaged or married, status didn't affect the loving part of their relationship.

In the meantime, Lin Que was busy fulfilling his duty as a fiancé. After separating from everyone, him and Lily went back to their home. By the time they arrived, Lily had been sleeping peacefully on the passenger seat.

Instead of waking her up, he carried her back to the house. As he bent over to lay her down on their bed, she pulled him down to kiss him. Apparently, she had been awake since he unbuckled her seatbelt. Her lazy nature told her guts to stay put and pretend to sleep until they get into the house.

Who would've known she would get this comfortable in his arms? It's a sin not to make a bold move in this position! Or so she thought it would be.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, she pulled him in for a deep, affectionate kiss. It was one that melted chocolates between their tongue tangles and ignited heat. His body laid on top of hers as her hands worked its way in removing his clothes. Pieces of clothing were tossed around the room until they were naked in bed.

Their bodies rolled around as they showered kisses passionately on each other's skin. He teased her weak spots, triggering moans from her mouth. The trails he kissed went further South of her body as her body arched from arousal. Leaving love marks over her delicate skin, he pleasured her with his tongue and finger on her vaginal area.

"Yes?" He stretched his arm to pull her in his embrace. She rested her head on his chest and played with the tips of her hair. After a while, she looked up at him and said, "I've been thinking about it for a while now.."

"Hmm?" Closing his book with one hand, he let it sit on the side of the bed.

"Let's have a baby." She whispered these sweet words to his ears.

"Huh?" His eyes widened as he though the had heard wrong.

"What's with your reaction? You don't want one?" She pinched his cheeks with both hands. When he felt the pain from her light pinches, he realized he wasn't hearing things.

"Of course I want to have our own children, but what about your career?" He remembered her caring about being a model and maintaining her body for this purpose.

"I've already won enough awards for the past three years. Besides, managing my family business along with working as a model could get very tiring. Right now, I just want to spend more time with you and start planning the next chapters of our lives. What do you think?" She looked at him with sparks in her eyes. Once she makes a decision, it means she had thought it through already.

Since she made up her mind, he would support her. "You know I'll always support you. Even if you decide to go back to being a model later on, I would still say yes to it. If you want, we could have our wedding first. There are many things we need to prepare, so I want to make sure we'll be ready before trying to conceive. So, you're ready to become Mrs. Lin, hmm?"

"Mmm, I'm ready. Heh, we can wait until Qian Ling comes and treats Susu. It'll be a while before our wedding is ready." Smiling, she stole a kiss from his lips before switching the lights off. It seems like this couple would have a busy year ahead with celebrations to come.
