Tian Residence

After Tian Yuo ran out of the house, Tian Guo Min and Li Shen Wen went back to their master bedroom.

Tian Guo Min changed out of his pajamas and waited for Shen Wen to bring him his business suit. While she roamed through their closet, he said, "Wifey, if you put things the way you did just now, Tian Yuo would never understand you."

"Guo Min, today isn't the first day you've known your son. Even if I said every single word in the softest tone, he will never process it with his brain focused on Yin Karen. I can't believe how naive he is to believe in her words. If I would've known that those stupid lies that she's stacked up over the years would affect him this much, I would've prevented them from seeing each other."

"But he is still young. Maybe if we explain it to him, he will understand." He buttoned his shirt while she chose the tie to match with his suit.

"His brain works slower than a turkey, okay? Just from Karen's one drip of tear could make him run all over the place acting like a psycho. Like mother, like daughter, they're both such schemers! I've watched Susu since she was a kid and doted on her like she's my own. I knew about all the things that went on in the Yin family and how much Susu had suffered. This child never complained or called me for help either!"

Shen Wen frowned recalling the day when she found out about the abusive step mother and how Yin Zin Leung believed in Liang Yu Qing and Karen's words, breaking Susu's trust. "I know Susu's temper and attitude the most. Her personality is just like her mother. Too kind by nature, but extremely stubborn once she comes to a decision. If she didn't feel so wronged, she would never move out of that house."

Guo Min sighed and stood still while she tied his tie, "Who knew that the tiny rants that Tian Yuo used to scream out and the words that we thought were kiddy fights would become such an obstacle today? He came home looking angry and repeatedly spoke bad about Susu. We thought that this was the teenage phase, so didn't look into it that much."

She shook her head, feeling guilty for not correcting her son's opinion when it first began, "This son is too gullible. Actually, it's Karen, who had a bad heart as a child. None of us would have thought that she was capable of making up such lies and slowly brainwash Tian Yuo to this extent. If she didn't do that, maybe Tian Yuo would treat Susu better."

"Like I said to Tian Yuo earlier that there is no cure for regret in this world. I just hope that he will grow up within this period of time and learn to separate good from bad. By setting a deal with him, this could buy him some time to think and perhaps redeem himself. I just hope things are not too late between them." She patted his chest and handed him his blazer.

"I was surprised that you would threaten to take his name off all our assets and inheritance if he chose Karen as his partner. You dote on him the most since young anyways. Never thought that you'll make this move." He double checked the documents that were needed for the business meetings for the day and wore his socks.

"Of course I had to make it clear to him! Karen is definitely not trustworthy with her questionable personality and not to mention, that mother of hers! We all know how that Liang Yu Qing made him take responsibility after taking advantage of him while he was drunk. And he was thinking that Susu needed a mother, so he married her for convenience. She got pregnant from that night and had Karen." Shen Wen sounded furious because she was close friends with Susu's biological mother, Zi Lan.

She knew how much Susu's biological mother and father loved each other, but everything went downhill when she died shortly after labor. He didn't know how to care for his newborn child and face the grief of losing his wife. Liang Yu Qing literally took this chance to marry into the rich family and grew greedier over the years.

Shen Wen walked Guo Min downstairs and continued their conversation as they walked hand in hand, "It was an agreement between Zi Lan and I, so people should learn their places. Liang Yu Qing and Karen had purposely tried to interfere with Tian Yuo and Susu's friendship. Why would I easily accept someone like her? I'm most satisfied with Susu, but even if it isn't her, I would still be alright with it. Only that Karen girl is unacceptable."

"If they get married, Tian Yuo will follow Karen's nose around and listen to her words. I don't need an extra name added to our assets and his inheritance. So, if he chooses her, then he will lose a lot. He will have to support himself on his own." Shen Wen would never let the hard work that she and her husband had built together end up in somebody else's hands like that.

"Alright. It's time for me to go to work. I'm guessing that you are going to look for Susu next?" He kissed her cheeks and took the documents from her hands.

"Yep. Hubby knows me so well~ I know she wont turn me down. Also, have your lawyer type up a contract for Tian Yuo and me. Make sure to include that he needs to remain married for a minimum of one year to Susu in order to get his freedom. If he breaches the contract, he will lose the freedom that he wanted. Fair and square." She reminded her husband so that Tian Yuo could not divorce Susu right after marrying her.

"Oh right, another condition to put on either the same contract or a different one would be that if he marries Karen, her and her mother's name can never be added to any Tian family assets, properties and inheritance. Just in case our son marries her." She returned the kiss and watched Guo Min leave the house while waving goodbye.

After he had left, she called Susu to meet up for afternoon tea. Susu was already prepared to face Tian Yuo's mother, so she agreed to meet her.

Meanwhile, on the airplane, Karen was finishing up her meal while reading the student orientation package for new admissions from Paris Fashion Institute. Flipping through pages of alumni's works who became famous after graduating, she circled the outfits that she liked and swore that one day she would be well known for her designs.

"By this time...Brother Yuo should have gotten my mail. Hehe, when I come back, I'll be famous and have Brother Yuo by my side. With his family background, I can easily gain access to many connections and earn a lot of money. I'll have everything I ever wanted. As for Susu, let's see if you could still be compared on the same level as me."
