The Other Two

Diana hadn't been in her room all morning. She hadn't gotten up to get anything to eat. She didn't wash herself or change out of her gown. 

Instead, she lay in a heap in the bed, trying to calm herself down. Trying to forget the rejection and humiliation she experienced from the party.

She had cried herself to sleep the moment she was left alone. Her brother wanted to stay but she just pushed him away. Her maid was worried about her but she refused to let them in her room. 

She hugged her pillow and closed her eyes tightly. 

What Akeem and Princess Salma told her was still in her mind. Including the way Akeem rejected her and the way Salma said that she wasn't suited to be Elov's Queen. All the things that Salma listed out made her stomach twist.

There were so many things that she didn't know. So many things that felt like chains to her arms and legs. Why does the mere thought of doing all those things make her sick?
